Using your bed to organize is a huge tip. Also, I like to use boxes to categorize things. I have a bunch of random camera things or dirt bike parts. My tip is to use a small box and fill it with like items. Once it’s full, you can get a bigger box and put everything in it or get another box. You can then set the box aside with a label and stack them as needed. You can eventually figure out where to put them or organize later on. But this at least gets it out of the way and stacking the box will make lots of room to continue cleaning.

I was looking at how to keep my room tidy. I have a total of 9 days off from work, every day was a specific area. Day 1 was my bedside table which was a complete mess, it's now not super tidy but i don't have a pile of stuff on it, i.e nothing is stacked on it. Day 2 was my windowsill, it's right by my bed which makes it a go to for putting stuff. That's been cleared and wiped down. Day 3 is the biggest day so far, took my clothes that i wear regularly and put them in the wash. Everything else went in a bag to be thrown away if it was really old or in a basket to be washed and donated. Paper and boxes tossed out, there was a pile the size of me building up that's mostly gone. Got a few boxes of old school stuff i thought I'd need but never did to get rid of. It's now a case of chipping at it day by day until it's clear. It's the monday (day 3 now), i plan to be done on Saturday or day 8 and that should be setting up a bin, and a basket for my washing. My family does have one but i do all my own clothes washing and a basket would help

Yes, I'm interested in minimalism. I want to practice minimalism but it is really hard for me as I'm a kind of person who will make up a reason to keep even the most useless things and even convince myself that I need those. I'm planning trying it out though hoping that it will help me to clear my mind.
That’s one of my biggest challenges too... the genuine feeling that i gotta keep everything like it’s a necessity... definitely deserves its own video when I get to that point 🙏

I'm fine with the laundry and the media and all that. I've even cleaned up my closet recently and gotten rid of a bunch of stuff. It's all child's play until I get to the paper... 😱
Ugh, I know right? And paper manages to breed like rabbits lol. I find first starting with separated piles really helped, and then a proper filing cabinet and system. I’d like to propose another step/bin: the donation bin. While you already have everything of a category out, perhaps be proactive, and place donation items in a bag already.

Now your room is clean but with 6 bags or more lined up. After that throw away the garbage bag Then take one bag arrange it to the shelf. Take a break Then do the next… so on. Good luck

Cleaning is super therapeutic for me as I’ve gotten older. When I was younger I was an absolute SLOB. Dirty dishes, trash and clothes laying all over the room. Now I love cleaning and I clean my room every weekend. I typically start with the floor, and break it down into separate items like trash, clothes. And work my way up. I also start in one corner of the room and work my way to the other ones. I guess it’s just how it works for that individual person but I’m so glad I’ve gotten into cleaning weekly. Not only is it less work but just having a clean room overall is a great and relaxing feeling. I also thing I have a touch of OCD so a clean room scratches that itch! 😂
Nobody should be ashamed for viewing this video. Sometimes, it's just nice to have outside instruction. Especially if you're asking for it as opposed to someone imposing it on you. You're taking steps to help yourself. Life can be brutal and sometimes it makes it harder to do, "the little things." So cut yourself some slack.
The organization of this video makes the adhd and autism happy and im gonna try and tackle this absolute f*ckery of a room after months of putting it off One of my problems is too i need shelves to better display my figures/"toys" instead of putting them away where i cant see them and also my room is....very small
I keep dvds just in case the internet ever goes down. And thanks for me being a collector and my brother getting a brand new apartment without Wi-Fi (internet) my dvd collection is coming in handy. Also I am going even beyond this; new wall paint colors, new bed frame (possibly new mattress), replacing the carpet with hardwood floor to make deep cleaning easier when I clean.
As a father, I find it therapeutic to clean my kids’ room at times. I would tackle the simplest thing first, quick wins to build momentum. 1st Picking up toys on floor and put them back on the shelves (quick win) 2nd Trash unwanted stuff eg crumped papers, empty toy boxes (if in doubt, don’t throw pls) 3rd By then, room is about 40-50% done 4th Focus on specific areas in the room eg study table, 5th Wipe down surfaces, mirrors 6th Mop the floor Voila! 🎉 Hope this is helpful for you ;)
I really think the hardest thing is “putting things away properly.” Like where do I put all this 💩 is usually where I start getting overwhelmed. What does properly mean exactly?
I imagine this is a more subjective matter. Though there are better ways to store certain types of clothes, for example, it's ultimately dependent on what storage space you have and where you want them to go. If you can't figure it out on the spot, just put them somewhere and see if it calls out to you as something that bothers you, or not.
While there's really no wrong way to sort your room out, I'd recommend a few suggestions. Get everything off of the floor first. Save the sorting for last because that will take the most time and consideration Consider using a File Brief Case instead of a File Cabinet for your paper work storage
Figured searching up “how to clean your room” was such a dumb and trival thing but no you actually helped me get my shit together since I have a lot of racing thoughts
THANK YOU SO MUCH I REALLY NEEDED THIS, my grandma gives us money for positive things, and deducts for negative things, we get the money at the end of the year for Christmas, and having a dirty room is a minus five dollars. I really wanted an iphone this year so I decided to get my s*** together.
Glad iam not the only one on this page. I just need energy and motivation i always feel so lazy then when i actually do it it gets done. Plus i have a 14month old dog lab mastiff that does not help lol he makes nost of the mess in my room. Lol
Taking a picture of everything you owned reminded me of that spongebob episode where he has too much trash and wont let it go so sanity department comes with a warning of evacuation. He ends up taking a picture of every “memory” item and trashes it all away after.
Being overwhelmed about where to start is usually the thing that keeps most people from tidying up.

thank you i i have ADD and i never knew how to properly clean and organize so, this helped me a lot on my meds
Dance party is the most important step.
It pleases me that I’m not the only one needing to look up a ‘how to’ to get my room clean XD
Hi man thanks a lot for this video this video has motivated me to clean around my house and especially my room!
There are a physical media resurgence now. A lot of people are liking the idea of actually feeling, seeing, and owning their music/movies ect.
Yooooo
You are the man. The google doc is great! I wish you more life, more success, and more health! God Speed mate
This is the best clean up breakdown i've seen. Thank you! I just subbed.
Number one is getting rid of stuff you don't need. It will make everything so much easier.
great video. My room wasnt awful, just cluttered and I got it all clean in aboout 15 minutes!
You've got this guy. I am not sure if I can do that but I'm going to try to do it for a while but I've only got a little bit of money in my house.
Thank you so much! I have a lot of trouble keeping my room clean, this really helped me! ❤❤❤
It’s so much easier to get into a habit of cleaning as you go instead of letting it get to disaster mode and then trying to clean it all up.
I just found you and I’m totally impressed. Food, finances, cleaning etc. heading to your FB page.
Ooo! I'm thankful for the discovery! Thanks for giving my small channel a shot! 🙏
The organization of this video makes the adhd and autism happy and im gonna try and tackle this absolute f*ckery of a room after months of putting it off
One of my problems is too i need shelves to better display my figures/"toys" instead of putting them away where i cant see them and also my room is....very small
This actually helped me so much😭😭 my room is finally clean after 2 years of me being too lazy
This helped me a lot cus. I don't clean in a oder so it takes a lot of time for me to clean, I'm so glad I found this
1:40 when your “thing” is art so you have paper everywhere 😂 (get it- heh. Okay my bad😢)
i found that throwing everything on my bed then forced to put them somewhere before i go to bed is a good way for me to be organized.
As a father, I find it therapeutic to clean my kids’ room at times. I would tackle the simplest thing first, quick wins to build momentum.
1st Picking up toys on floor and put them back on the shelves (quick win)
2nd Trash unwanted stuff eg crumped papers, empty toy boxes (if in doubt, don’t throw pls)
3rd By then, room is about 40-50% done
4th Focus on specific areas in the room eg study table,
5th Wipe down surfaces, mirrors
6th Mop the floor
Voila! 🎉
Hope this is helpful for you ;)
Interesting advice! Thanks
Intense but good for you! Best of luck!
Thanks! It WAS intense but totally necessary lol. Hoping it’ll turn out the way I’m romanticizing it in my head lol
Depression and bipolar makes it hard to keep tidy thank u
While there's really no wrong way to sort your room out, I'd recommend a few suggestions.
Get everything off of the floor first.
Save the sorting for last because that will take the most time and consideration
Consider using a File Brief Case instead of a File Cabinet for your paper work storage
Figured searching up “how to clean your room” was such a dumb and trival thing but no you actually helped me get my shit together since I have a lot of racing thoughts
My room is spotless and I watched this all the way.
Very entertaining video
I want to know how to clean my room properly.. 😭.... Cuz no one ever taught me , but now I will know soon 🤔😊
im not minimalist at all (respect tho ofc) but this video was increadibly helpfull for me cleaning my junkyard of a room. thank you!!
This is exactly the kind of video I've been looking for. ^_^
This video really helps me. I have so much stuff I don't know how to organize it. Your categories where spot on.
Glad iam not the only one on this page. I just need energy and motivation i always feel so lazy then when i actually do it it gets done. Plus i have a 14month old dog lab mastiff that does not help lol he makes nost of the mess in my room. Lol
My room is finally clean!!😊🎉

I really liked this! Simple, and straight to the point! You've earned urself a subscriber m8
My problem is that my room’s mess isn’t clothes, it’s just a bunch of random crap.
Oh no! Is the “bunch of random” stuff big stuff or small stuff? If it’s small stuff, maybe this could help! th-cam.com/video/8MjEb29Bkl4/w-d-xo.html
Same lol 😂
I said Wow! and paused the video on the room photo and restarted the video and you said Wow! too!
He helped me lean my mom's room
watching this while my room is a complete mess..
No matter what I do I feel like I clean and the next 5 min is messy again
When I was 21 I watched Nelk Boys. Now I am 25 and watch this guy and Jordan Peterson.
What i did for my room is take everything out and vacuum and clean etc then replace everything
This video is so underrated and under viewed
Having to search up how to clean your room is a true showing that your hopeless.
I clean my room every day
Taking a picture of everything you owned reminded me of that spongebob episode where he has too much trash and wont let it go so sanity department comes with a warning of evacuation. He ends up taking a picture of every “memory” item and trashes it all away after.
3 hours? One fifth of my room took me 1 hour
gosh but this was a very helpful vid thank u
I was looking for Peterson's advice. I think this is better xD
For people who feel bad about looking this video up, just think about it as you trying to get your life together.
finally a video by a man for a man on how to clean your shit
I can't wait to try this. My room is wrecked
I am going to going to clean up my room a few minutes each day so I don’t stress out.
after cleaning my room and make it blank, I decided to repaint the room and change the color of the walls to get a sense of environment change
