    Always loved the fisker karma even though it had quite a few flaws. This one seems to be what I loved about the first one, but everything else is better!
    Would love to see more from this, especially how it drives

    Have always loved this car since the first time I saw one on the 405. Did they improve the acceleration? Is the ride any different, and have they improved the sound of the engine up front? Seems to me this is a more practical car than the Tesla, no limits to range, and even more beautiful. However, I'm sure Tesla is faster -- unless?

      Dude I got a model 3 and I'll tell you straight up, it's more futuristic inside than this car is. The model 3 is only a $52,000 car. I get 0 to 60 in about 4.6 seconds. But if you step up to the performance model 3 you can get under 4 seconds in a 0 to 60. Tesla is a much better company too. They come out with a mobile mechanic to rotate my tires at my house and any other fixes that need to be done. You got to think about that. Where you going to get those things done? I mean the recalls on these things will be ridiculous. It's a cool looking car but I'm just trying to give you some advice. Also travel across country I got tons of charging stations. This is really a gas car isn't it?

    I wanna know if they addressed backseat room and power output. Old one was a slug compared to Tesla and heard the noise from engine was not something to be proud of. Acceleration in traffic was slow cause of drive train. The exhaust is same spot. Nice wiff of exhaust on a spring day. Doesn’t seem like anything was improved just the infotainment system and some eye appeal.

    Combined range of 550 Kilometers = 341.754 miles... I always wonder why people use "Kilometers" in America, where we are on the...
    Mileage system? He goes on to say, "Which means, you can drive across North America without stopping?" Maybe I am missing something, wouldn't that be game over for Tesla and all the other EV' manufacture's, who can't get over 300 miles, without a "burger stop", and a fast-charge?

  • @t_adams

    I am not sure you covered this but, if you are driving in electric mode and is about to run out of charge, does the generator come on only long enough to recharge the battery and then shuts down automatically or is it like the Chevy Volt, and and stay on to run the car from that point forward, until you can plug it in again? If it does just come on to recharge the battery and run the car while doing so then shuts off when the battery is fully charged, how long on average does the generator take to fully charge the batteries? I understand the time would vary depending on if you are city or highway driving and other factors.

    • @debendragurung3033
      @debendragurung3033 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because he is hiding it.
      If you do the maths- it's full potential of 260HP 770Nm torque can only drive it for max 20 minutes.After that the power to AC motors can't quite compensate for the rate of battery depletion and the generator has to take some power to the motors and some to charge the battery.
      All the power have to come from Electric Motor since it is a series hybrid. The rated power of 250Hp is for sports mode where it gets power simultaneously from the battery and the generator.
      Comparing it to Model S p100D- which has dual motor - one with 500Hp, and the other 300Hp with combined 770Hp.
      The irony is Fischer Karma is has max output of P100D low end AC motor. Now thats just the DriveTrain. If you dig deeper you will cover all the quirks from battery, generators,weight and efficiency. They've cut corners everywhere except looks.

With this new and improved one probably it went down to 100y ;). i also wonder if they kept that original cylinder “generator” that was embarrassing noisy and clunky. Hope they didn’t.

    I absolutely don’t understand the logic behind having a CCS plug if the battery can be recharged by the onboard gasoline generator.
    Overall it looks like the car shares the flaws of the original Karma with the exception of the infotainment system and the reliability of the batteries. But that isn’t good enough anymore, a car like this shouldn’t have a small trunk and claustrophobic rear seats.

    • @mrbenvlogs
      @mrbenvlogs 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a Sedan Coupe, has 4 doors so that passengers can get in, but is more meant to be a coupe. The point of the charge port, is like any other plug in hybrid. You dont have to use gas if you do not want, on your daily commute. The idea is that by charging at home, during non peak times, it is much cheaper to operate per mile, then a gasoline car.

    • @arispelius600
      @arispelius600 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben Vlogs first off, it has a B-Pillar between the front and rear doors, it’s a Sedan. If you want poor back seat space in a 195 inch car then it needs to be a 2 door coupe.
      Second, CCS isn’t a level 2 charging port, it is the Direct current fast charger. The round section with 5 connectors is the J1772 port that would be used for overnight charging.
      en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAE_J1772
      The 2 additional 2 pin inputs at the bottom are used for the direct current fast charging. I’m fine with the J1772, but the CCS is moronic for such a small battery.

    Gorgeous Design. But like the Fisker Karma it´s old-school by its technically features. There's nothing - NOTHING! - more inefficient than loading a battery by a gasoline engine! It would be way more energy-efficient to directly bring the power to the wheels, like in any Plug-In Hybrid car today. And compared to any Tesla the Karma Revero is a lame duck..... At the End, this is why Henrik Fisker would have failed even when he did´nt run out of cash. This whole concept is early 90´s; we now speak of 800V-Battery technology (Porsche Taycan), Fluoride-Batteries (instead of Lithium), solid-state Batteries an a whole lot more....

      I want Fisker to win. Yeah, it already lost once, but still...
      That said, "this is not the same car" sort of gave away to noticing it's the same car. Down to the paddle shifters.
      "Very novel" is a catch phrase used often in this video, and even though all of the items called out as "very novel" are the same features available on the original Fisker.
      I hope they really address the build quality issues. Sounds like they started to fix the interior material choices; but, until they fully address the body panel gaps, etc, I would have been much more satisfied with. "This is the Fisker Karma, with the stuff that made the original fail, fixed!"
