Donny, I have watched this from start to finish and I have to say that you are a super star craftsman. Serious respect for you and look forward to the other sets of build videos. Thank you so much, Joe, England, 👋🖐👍🏻
Dani - Fantastic to see the D type running. Mad props for the period helmet and wind goggles on your test driver!! Also, that plaque is perfect and a great testament to your skills and abilities.
Amazing outcome! I love at 3:43 when you lift the hood. All the curves bend the light so perfectly that it's easy to forget that this all started as flat bits of metal
Congrats on the fantastic build. It looks like it just rolled out of the racing department at Jaguar. Should provide many years of enjoyment for the owner. Cheers!
What an awesome car! Your workmanship and skills are amazing! I thoroughly enjoy each and every video you guys make. Cannot wait for the next video!!!!
The fact that you made this with your own hands makes me envious that I don't have you as a friend. This is truly remarkable. Thanks for sharing this. Sub for life..
Amazing job over those 3 years, It's unfortunate that this kind of content is so under appreciated nowadays You started this project before I got in college and it really motivates me to try and make my own project in the future, but I'm still on the drawing board.
Beautiful, this is proper craftmanship. You deserve a lot more followers. For a next project, maybe you can consider the Bugatti Type 57 Atlantique for its 90th anniversary or the Lamborghini Miura for its 60th anniversary in 2026.
Greetings from Wales. Despite your best effort on camera, you failed to look that 'cool' and instead just looked like a pair of excited kids. Not a criticism, you have every right to be super-chuffed and have a massive grins on your faces. You've worked hard and used your considerable skills to make a wonderful car.
Wow !!!!! FANTAZMAGLORIOUS !!!!! ( Fantastic ! Magnificent ! Glorious ! ) I'm lost for words, you have truly created a Masterpiece Danie, I have really enjoyed watching your amazing talent, craftsmanship and "just do it" attitude over the last three years. Congratulations, cheers Paul
New subscriber here, love the amount of love and dedication that you have put into this car. I always dreamt of doing something like this but building a Ferrari 308 like in Magnum P.I. Proudly South African .
I love how it turned out. Its such a beautiful car. Even though the wheels are correct, I think it would look better with spoke rims and fat takkies. Also, those air filters? I have used the same ones on cars before and after a while they make your car start smoking when it starts, and after a longer while it smokes all the time and uses a lot of oil, you should put different ones 😜
Thanks Rachael! You are correct those filters are less than ideal but we're struggling to find suitable substitutes. Wheels... Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😜
Congratulations on a fantastic build ! It is truly a work of art. A beautiful vehicle of its era but l cant help thinking that the proportions are off , anyone who is of a tall height driving this makes it look toyish. I would like to match its scale to an ac cobra . The head rest should be that ,not a back rest, the windscreen should serve a purpose. The driver needs to be sitting deeper inside the cockpit, All in all my idea would make the jag bigger in all dimensions. After all these are custom builds and l applaud you on the finished product.
Looks great but it's a look a like ,right ? Pity you didn't fit the push button starter as no cost correct part plus brake reservoir at least could be a common jaguar part . It's all in the detail . Still nice car .
This engine sounds like it's way out of time or running on 5 cylinders. I admit I don't have experience with 1950's Jag straight 6's but this doesn't sound right. But it looks fantastic.
While watching, I noticed something that seemed to me to be a little bit of a semi-unfinished look. Would it have been totally inappropriate to use an acorn-style nut for each of the small bolts used to attach the windscreen? This style of nut would have covered the protruding threads and would have provided a more finished look. Although, if used, possibly not in line with an accurate reproduction build. • Just curious. • Really enjoyed your videos!
Thank you. They did have dry sumps but we've decided the only remedy is to cut the sump a few centimeters. We will lose a about a litre of oil capacity but gain the much needed clearance
I don't understand. It looks really good and the detailing and workmanship are impressive. However, it sounds like it's running on (maybe) five cylinders, and that exhaust note is in no way reminiscent of what I heard during Hawthorne's filmed lap of LeMans in 1956 (available on TH-cam). The Jaguar XK-120 derived powerplant had both a distinctive and pleasing note (not easily achieved with a six) and your car is sadly lacking as far as aural charisma is concerned. That's my primary observation, however, it also appears (due to the lack of clearance between the road and the sump) that your car does not have a dry-sump lubrication system. Given the scant clearance at present, I would suggest you (or the customer) think strongly about remedying that. Sorry to be a downer about your car, especially considering what you have put into it, but little things can undo an initial positive impression.
We did unfortunately have a leaky manifold gasket at time of filming that makes the engine sound a bit off. The sump is also being sorted in the mean time.

I'm thrilled how much better it went this time. That must have felt so satisfying. Now the hard part is handing it over to it's owner!!!
Agreed 😥

Thank you very much for the kind words Paul!! It makes making these videos worth all the effort 👍👍
If I had the my own I will definitely give it to you so you can work on it because I like your work
Magnificent work, it's a credit to you Donnie.

I need this in my life
Just one inch off the sump ? From the video it looks extremely close to the ground. Beautiful build.
Looks so awesome!!!!!
Wicked. Give us a video reminding us of the specs etc please mate
Thanks! Great idea, I'll do that 👍

Merci pour la réponse 👍🇨🇵
This made me really home sick .... been in England now for 20 years ... I can remember how those streets smell and how the air feels on your skin 😢
Yeah I must admit, I've seen some incredible countries and all things considered, this is definitely my favourite place.
Congratulations on a fantastic build ! It is truly a work of art.

Dan, how much do you have to charge a customer for such a beautiful car? Gorgeous!
Thank you! If you consider all the hours spent it does ad up but the biggest prize is to have had the opportunity 🎉
I hope the new owner is shorter than the two of you. You look like giants behind the wheel!

you are right. we had issues with carbs killing the plugs. sorted now
Just beautiful! Well done! But why not build a bad to the bone race engine as well?
Thanks man! Maybe next time 😁

Beautiful car! It does look, as you drive out of your garage, that more clearance under the sump is needed. Did these cars use a dry sump?
Thank you. They did have dry sumps but we've decided the only remedy is to cut the sump a few centimeters. We will lose a about a litre of oil capacity but gain the much needed clearance
Aaaah lekker om jou te sien. Kar so moooooooi
Looks like feet are both a foot to tall for it,can the seats be lowered any more
You should have made a cobra hands down you can build jaguar not my type but well done
I presume by now you've worked out it was only running on 5 cylinders?
it sounds like it's missing
What is wrong with the engine. it sounds like it is not running on all cylinders.
How much in total did this cost you to make ?
I don't understand. It looks really good and the detailing and workmanship are impressive.
