Woodturning - Another Log, Another Bowl

- Welcome to this week's woodturning project! I turned another log (don't know what kind of wood it is) into a bowl. It's was pretty difficult at the beginning because of the weird form of the log, so my lathe was wobbling. I finished the bowl with danish oil.

Guten Tag, I love your work and you are an inspiration. I am wondering about the amazing finish you use.
Between the eccentricity of the rotation and how intensely the lathe was shaking, I would've been looking for one of those padded suits they use for K9 training.
I would like to see a video showing how often you sharpen your turning tools and how you clean up the epoxy shavings.
Turning this he probably had to sharpen that gouge a few times.
you should throw old woodchips or wood pieces in the void areas before you pour the resin. You would save yourself $10,000 in lost resin because you cut most of it out of the way.

10k is equivalent to about 100 gallons of epoxy. Shoving some scraps in the gaps might save a small portion of that. He could do that but not sure he “should” if any remained in the wall areas it would ruin the piece

I for one think it's a pretty piece. I like the green. 👍👍 So far I count 2 for and 1 against. I also dislike losing all that expensive resin. There has to be a better way to achieve the results while holding down the cost. I enjoy the preliminary work but most of the video is a bit boring. I know saying that is sacrilege but I personally think watching ordinary turning falls in with watching paint dry. Show me the interesting cuts and edit out the rest. The same goes for sanding. Show me your sanding technique and then get of with it. But the bottom line here is: It's nice bowl. The result is good. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

You really should trim that a little more before trying to turn it, looks very dangerous. Accident waiting to happen
Why don't you rough cut the wood with a saw.
Why can't you at least use a saw to make it more circular before turning it? You're putting a lot of stress on the your lathe with an unbalanced work piece.
The whole machine is vibrating like it wants to self destruct.
The green epoxy kinda ruined it. Good craftsmanship though
