@Varler there might be something wrong with your laptop. game runs fine for me on a moderately old normal pc; have finished all hardmode quests. one thing about the game is that it will crash either randomly or on triggers, like the omen that kicks you out of the stage after 150 turns is a actual softlock for me
Yeah, it STARTS as "I just wanna not-die", and then next thing you know you're restarting because you didn't break at least 100,000,000 on Ball 1. No joke. I imagine this is what the pachinko players of Japan feel in their parlors. It's crazy addictive.
I've wanted this game for a while, and seeing it in action makes me want it even more. It also further cements the fact that I NEED a procedural pinball game in my life. This art with procedural tables would be amazing.
This is the second game you've played recently that I had previously 'ignored' in steam only to change my mind about it after watching you play it a bit. Good deal.
This game really is fantastic, it does a great job of utilizing the fact that it's completely virtual to do cool things that real pinball tables can't (either because it's physically impossible, like magically warping the ball, or because it would be prohibitively expensive and difficult to engineer and manufacturer, like three separate boards all Frankensteined together at the top and bottom edges) but the developer took great care not to sacrifice the best advantage pinball has over electronic games: the kinetic, impactful feeling that only comes from its physical nature.
There are like 3 tables in one, on the right side the "quests" are zodiac for the top part, arcane for the middle part and hermit for the bottom part, so these quests are in their own area
Since the Demoncrawl video I've spent about 50 hours in it, and this seems like something I'll play a lot too, been loving the series to find some games I'd otherwise never see
I enjoy pinball here and there not a too much of a big fan or anything however I have to admit, this might be one of the most innovative games I’ve seen in a while and it’s absolutely beautiful with amazing sounds. Everything nowadays is rougelites, deck builders or RPG’s this actually seems like an awesome innovative game
Once you understand how to play the game it just becomes an endurance test, the hardest part of the board is the bottom but as long as you play safe, hold the ball anytime bullets are fired and keep shooting into the hand until a ball saver trap door appears you'll be fine. I got to 4 billion and then was just too bored to keep going. The game is fun as hell until you have all the shots figured out though.
Tilting is basically an option to give the ball a slight/harder move to the left or right in a curve. Its somewhat of manipulating the way the ball would move so you can get out of maybe draining a ball. Tilting can destroy the table when used too much/hard etc ;) (im not english but I hope that its somewhat understandable)
hey ryab. Really loving Nothernlion Tries. Missed the lets look at format when you're not on a game i currently jive with. I watched all of gungeon but no slay the spire for instance. Keep up the good work NL.
I really dig Demon's Tilt! Also found it through game pass. If anyone else is curious but turned off by the apparent complexity, there's a couple great guides on Steam that explain the basic mechanics. It's really a lot more forgiving than most pinball tables because of the nudge/tilt mechanic, which lets you control the trajectory of the ball in motion a lot more than most games.
Oh I love me a bit of pinball. This looks like a fun time. For years I’ve been hoping for a sequel or remaster to a PS2 game called Flipnic. That game was wonderful!
The multi-tiered level reminds me of Sonic Spinball... a game I put far far far too much time into playing. It was honestly amazing and I never found another one like it.
Hey Egg, if you like pinball games with something different going on try Zen Pinball 3 with the Skyrim table. They have some classic stuff for nostalgia but the originals are amazing. And the Skyrim one is an actual pinball RPG.
Another great objective-based (and less frantic) pinball game is Adventure Pinball: Forgotten Island. Though at this point it's nearly 20 years old, and sadly, I don't believe it's out on Steam or GOG, or anything along those lines. Oh, and it was apparently made by Digital Extremes (the people being WARFRAME?!), a Canadian video game development company. But it was published by EA.
When I first saw the thumbnail, it reminded me so much of Soma. I thought this WAS Soma for a split second. Imagine NL playing Soma. I'd really like to see that. Sorry, I know my comment isn't about the game but, it's just a fun thought I had. Carry on.
would someone like me to provide clarity to his confusion, with timestamps? for example, 17:26 the light in the window above the drain indicates that you can get "repent" where it lets you relaunch the ball. The light only appears at the start of a new ball launch (including multiball) as far as I know.
YOu should look up videos of the Bride of Pin Bot. It's got a similar transformation mechanic of the person in the middle, but in real life. It's pretty cool.
Ran across a weird anime rougelike in the switch e-shop and would love to see you take a look at it. Labyrinth of the Witch. It's like $15 american. Would be fascinated to see how it holds up to someone so immersed in the genre.
Loud bass speakers Space invaders/asteroids killed pinball for me. Pinball was just free balls and unveiling top board bikini girls lights while some guy tell your friends not lean on the machine. I just missed the age of pool halls. :)
Here I am, watching NL drain his balls, wondering what decisions brought me here
usually I'm the one draining my balls while watching NL
"AAAAAAH - ball drained" - Northernlion
little brother spam in chat please
Just like when he needed surgery
We need a pinball roguelite, since we got a minesweeper one.

Rollers of the Realm- its a pinball rougelite!
dark souls 'YOU DIED' screen but instead it says 'BALL DRAINED'
When are we getting the Northerlion Tries 1995’s 3D Space Cadet Pinball?
The greatest pinball game ever
And the best thing is the version that came with win xp was a demo, there are other tables in the full game ;)

Big number becomes BIGGER. dopamine pumped.
I like numbers.
I enjoy watching this game even though i have absolutely no idea whats happening.
You need to stream the sequel, XENOTILT!
I've wanted this game for a while, and seeing it in action makes me want it even more.

This reminds me of the 3D ultra pinball games loved those when i was younger. more interactive pinball games are great.
It has got to be related to/inspired by "Devil's Crush"
Delightfully devilish eggboy
deviled egg, if you will

There hasn't been a friggin pinball game this cool since 1990's Pinbot.
I'm in, easiest money ever spent.

Xbox game pass still comes in clutch to this day
A friend of mine has the world record in this

@@garethmagis I shoot into my hand twice a week, brother, you don't see me bragging about it.
Ian Black - Guitar Student BALL DRAINED
I bought this after you streamed it! Put some solid hours into it 👌🏼
This game looks awesome! Never thought I would say that about virtual pinball.
The nudge in this game is incredibly well implemented, it allows unbelievably good manipulation of the ball that can get you where you need to go.
B A L D R A I N

Been waiting on this one since the stream. Thanks NL.
This Game looks awesome. I would love to see more pinball on the channel eggdaddy!

Stunning commentary on this one
I can always get behind a pinball game that makes you say 'do I have any active rituals.'
I really dig Demon's Tilt! Also found it through game pass.

Yo this game is actually real cool
Northern lion Just Takes A Break And Plays Pinball
The multi-tiered level reminds me of Sonic Spinball... a game I put far far far too much time into playing. It was honestly amazing and I never found another one like it.
Hate your liver, friends, AND family? Take a drink every time NL says 'im just trying to stay alive'
Not quite Devil's Crush, but i dig it.
That game was incredibly good and so full of things to do. Like 15 missions I believe. Probably the best pinball game I've ever played.
Massive flashbacks to playing endless amounts of Revenge Of The Gator on original Game Boy. DAE
Man I loved that game.
First minesweeper, now pinball? Let's gooooo 90s!
This hot dad loves describing things as "disgustingly" good. It's the new -lord suffix.
Pinball fx3 has real life Williams and Bally recreations, they're very well done.
And you can get a truly insane number of tables for a similar price.
never knew you were decent at arcade, you did well :)
The art's so cool.
Wait, there's strategy to pinball?
Yep. There's a reason they're called "pinball wizards"
Looks like devil crash/alien crush from back in the day PC Engine.
Devil Crash and Strider were why I bought a PC Engine...
Terry Barcelona I wonder if the Konami PC Engine mini will have those on it?
First mine sweeper now pinball? Cant wait for the roguelike solitaire game next
Spatch Slay the Spire ringin’ any bells?
Solitairica is there for you.
I wonder if Demon's Tilt will make the Egg tilt?
can we get more? the game is best learned through experience and I love Egg's videos
Do more of this please!

Played this off game pass its pretty good. Surprised NL decided to make a video on it though.

Reminds me of creep night. Loved that game
top tip anyone new watching, turn on visual trails. much easier to see ball.
Ooh, this game seems to tickle some of my fancies. Visually bit on the tiny side except for the side graphics, but looks nice. Wishlisted.
So fun fact dragon's fury on Sega Genesis it's a demonic pinball game much like this
It's actually $20 USD but this looks fun enough I might go for it anyway!
i like all of the aesthetic
This is pinball recreation of NLs ball fluid draining operation he went through in his childhood
Well well well.
You're next line is, "'Ay everybody and welcome to Northernlion Tries 'Afterburn'."
The world needs a new sonic spinball
NL, you should play Tetris Effect!!!
Nobody talkin' bout SLAPPIN the soundtrack is??
would someone like me to provide clarity to his confusion, with timestamps?

Bruh I got this game, its absolutely fantastic
It's basically Skyrim with guns
Is this any relation to the Dragon's Fury/Devil Crash franchise from the 90s? Even the music feels familar.
I think it's a massive homage to those particular games. It isn't made by the same developers as Dragon's Fury/Devil Crash.
Yeah, I had assumed the same. I think the developer was called Naxat? I had Devil's Crush for the TG-16 back in the day.
@@ChiliTomatoNoodle ah I had the mega drive dragon's fury version
In which NL climbs up on Demon Stilts and shills for XBOX game pass. Also, he plays a neat looking game.
No northernlion joke about the lion in the top of the game. Feelsbadman
On the top? So kinda the north, ey?
Ran across a weird anime rougelike in the switch e-shop and would love to see you take a look at it. Labyrinth of the Witch. It's like $15 american. Would be fascinated to see how it holds up to someone so immersed in the genre.
reminds me of 3d pinball halloween
*End of Ball Bonus*
lets go
Ah, Tilt. It is Tilt.
I made it boys.
Loud bass speakers Space invaders/asteroids killed pinball for me. Pinball was just free balls and unveiling top board bikini girls lights while some guy tell your friends not lean on the machine. I just missed the age of pool halls. :)
Reminds me a bit of Crüe Ball.
the egg strikes again
Poggy
Yo,this game slaps.
So they just remade Devil's Fury?
lionDemon Tilt
I think this is cool but I also like pinball
"That can't distract me 'cause I can't read" - oh, so that's why Egg is so bad at games, he's illiterate! /s
How are people not bad at pinball, I have trouble getting the ball not to fall right down the middle on real machines
Play a lot. I'm pretty damn good at it but I've been playing pinball for years damn near every weekend. (my dad keeps one in his garage.)
It's designed to do that with physics and magnets, you play a table enough to learn how to avoid those mechanics
it is actually a rogue-lite
Should try Star Wars pinball on switch
This looks fun and Pinball FX3 is great too, but for the best pinball experience you are gonna want the Casino Night Zone in Sonic 2.
a sequel to Devils Crush?
This is on game pass you say? Hope it's still on there
Did he reupload this or did I have a crazy dream predicting the future? ._.
"IsekBabyLetsGo"
It's a pinball game. Have you never played Pro Pinball games?
Bald rain
This had 666 likes 'til I came along... I ruined the demonic magic
