Historical Q's: 1) When J1 took over the Crown why didn't he take up residence, in Richmond Hall, where his cousin Elizabeth was already residing? As, I understand it Elizabeth's last residence was still standing for some 60 yrs after, her death. 2) Where on Earth did all her dresses, go? Would someone please explain to me how does almost 1k dresses, disappear!! Lol.
All cloth, all clothing back then was 'recycled'. Servants and next of kin expected garments when a superior died. Even the most worn out shirts and drawers would be sold on to be worn or sold on to Jewish ragpickers. That was a very lucrative market and cloth would be used in the paper making industry or turned into felt. Beautiful clothes from a deceased lady would be unstitched and turned into something else. There's a documentary to be found here on TH-cam about how recently in some small church in England they believe one of Elizabeth's overskirts was, for years, the altar cloth.
If you are like me, you think that Stuart/Stewart is Scottish. Not so. Here is why. I am doing work on my family tree. Stuart, was once Stewart. I was at Alexander Stewart, then to his father, Alan Walter, then to his father, Walter Fitz Alan, then to this father, Alan Fitz Flaad. While on Flaad, I noticed that it states that his nationality if -- Breton. So, I research this, at -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bretons. While researching this, I see that there is something called the Celtic Nations. This is similar to the European Nation. The Celtic Nations can be research at -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_nations. From Alan Fitz Flaad, I can go all the way to Salomon, whom was the King of Brittany. So, to put it in a nutshell, the Stewart's are British, whom are the Breton's, and, from what I can tell, right now, are French.
Well yes the French and British Royalty are very intertwined. Unless someone is ignorant of history (or trying to change history for their racial agenda), then they should be very aware of how French the monarchy is.
I would appreciate if someone could explain in the case of the Gun Powder plot had killed King James I then who was the person that the catholic conspirators wanted to become monarch in his place? Thanks in advance for the answer!

Elizabeth was not her cousin's killer - she was grief-stricken upon hearing of Mary's execution. She moved Mary for 20 yrs from place to place (she could've killed her from the beginning); it was the act of Elizabeth's counselors/advisors to execute Mary (they would have lost everything they gained from Elizabeth had she become the new queen)! We might all know this, but again maybe not. James had to have successors, as it was his duty, but it was just like Edward II, married to his French queen but liked to be in company of men! My last comment and it's about Charles...is this the second son of James, the one who had health issues? Not a question, I just took a break from viewing this and that's what I was wondering - if he's that son, he made a quick recovery!

In 1679; 3 ship loads of Clan Campbell crashed on Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, after James I had us exiled from Scotland for denouncing his kingship of Scotland, and supposedly plotting to assassinate him. (My family, having migrated south from PEI Nova Scotia, during the century prior to the American Revolution, all the while expanding our North American Clan by breeding with Native American Princesses, and mostly other exiled Scottish Clanswomen. Though the native Americans didn't quite understand the Scottish concepts of land ownership or kingdoms, they had at least 3 centuries of protecting their traditional hunting grounds from the viking raiders from far across the vast seas. Also, recent discoveries on the western coast of Greenland have found sunken viking ships that will provide proof that the pre-sweedish/finish/ and even pre-russian tribes who eeked out a living on the frozen tundra, could have journeyed across the northern Atlantic volcanic islands during what's now referred to as the "mini ice age." It appears that the "age of global cooling," lasted far longer than modern historians would have us believe, and it was during some of these migrations west that the first Celtic/Pictish ancestors of modern day Scottish, English, Welsh, and Irish, were compelled to move west to seek new lands because of the yearly raids of the nordic and russian tribes

I wish my professors looked like her.
Why do you ignore James 1 st. Daughter Elizabeth who married Frederick V of Bohemia, interesting history, the Battle of white Mountain, and 30 years war.
The plotters were fanatics and King James was tolerant?! Really? No mention of the possibility he had porphyria...
What does porphyria have to do with it?

James I: The First Stuart King of Great Britain
She's got Helena Bonham Carter eyes...
reminded me of Helena in the Merlin mini series with the lisp
King James II: *attempts to join with Catholic Spain*
British people: *_I'm about to end this man's whole career!_*
Wait-- are they talking about the same James I that liked to watch women being hanged and drowned for being "witches"? He exiled my ancestor for not being Anglican.
We don't like him.
😢
The male commentators mumble and slur their words making it quite difficult to understand what they're saying. The back-and-forth from James to the Winns is confusing too
what the heck? Henry Stuart brother of Charles II didn't die before Charles II became King he died during the battle fighting alongside his brother James, Henry Stuart was the people's king
