I swapped out my 4i and 5i for hybrids and it was the best move I've made in years. So much easier... Why make the game harder.

Leave the ego out of the bag and stick with 6 hybrid. That is what I did. You can tell your buddies to suck it when you hit a better ball.

Dropped from 22 to 11 handicap last season changing from long and mid irons too a 3+ Hywood (amazing club), 4, 6 and 7 hybrids.

I have had experience with the 6 hybrid and have found it’s really good when the weather gets cold and damp. It’s great when you hit it a little thin. Occasionally it will nuke and sometimes get up in the altitude and take off past the green. The 6 iron is a little more finesse. So I use 6 iron in the summer and 6 hybrid in the cold months. I just put it in the bag.

My 6 iron is a club that I do more than just full shots with. I tried finessing shots with a 6 hybrid and it just was not the same. So, 5H is as far as it goes for me… for now…

Great point! Most weekend players would benefit from adding a 7 hybrid as well , ego won’t allow them to tho 😂I have both in my bag , no brainer ⛳️

I switched to the 6 hybrid last year, very happy with this decision. The 6 hybrid performs consistently with almost the same stats you demonstrated in your video. Your video confirms my decision. Thanks, Lamar

My bag current goes 3 hybrid, 5 hybrid, then 6 iron. But I’m considering a drastic change. I’m in my mid 50s now and lost a bit of muscle when I had surgery and radiation treatments. I’m just starting back to playing golf and my game is struggling a bit. I’m thinking about moving to the Cleveland Launcher XL Halo hybrid style irons. The older I get the more I lean on my hybrids.

Just a suggestion 🤔 When doing head to heads perhaps using different coloured balls for each club would allow you to show us the distance/dispersion more clearly. FYI I carry 4,6 and 8 hybrids. 8H 33* and 7I 29* have similar totals. Cheers Geoff

A very good analysis. The numbers show the benefits of hitting the hybrid into a green. I switched out my 5iron for a hybrid. Like you and others have said, comes down to comfort and confidence over the ball.

Enjoyed your video and 6h vs 6i test. I’m a 58 year old 12 handicap and I recently dropped my 6 iron and added a 6 hybrid. I hit the hybrid higher, it’s much better from the rough, and I’m confident I’ll hit the green when I’m 150-160 yards out. I also bag a 4 and 5 hybrid. Wish I would have switched earlier.

Have a 3,4 hybrid. But I also play my 3,4 iron most. Thinking of adding those hybrids to the bag, have to get the 3 hybrid a new grip on it. Will probably do that this week before I play this holiday weekend… I’m getting anywhere from 165 to 175 with my 6i which happens to be a favorite in my bag.. but thinking of giving these hybrids a go, thanks for rejuvenating me with my hybrids… Going to hit a few shots in the backyard..
