I always appreciate ship tour videos that include public bathrooms and wash stations. Many wash stations go unnoticed on Carnival, but they tend to be more noticeable on DCL and RCCL.

I love buffets. Haven't been to one since before COVID. But looking forward to going on my future cruise. But I am careful about sanitation. Washing my hands before plating my food and washing again before I actually eat. It's not my first choice. I'm looking forward to the other included options that ships now offer. But at the buffet I never get anything along the front edge where little hands can reach and usually go for the stuff further back or if tiered then higher up. This only helps if you wash after because lots of unwashed hands have touched the tongs and spoons.

I love the buffets. I most always go to the buffet for breakfast and lunch and the MDR for dinner. Dinner is planned around the nightly entertainment. Usually, once or twice, I will indulge in Guy's burgers for lunch. Also, on disembarkation day, I always go to the MDR for the last breakfast!

Ohhhh, Guy's is always the winner for me!

I thought I was the only one washing my hands. Glad to know I'm not alone.

It's frightening to see how few people do it, even with the stations right there!

One thing I appreciate about Royal Caribbean is their "washy washy" approach, where they have staff at the Windjammer entrances putting pressure on folks to wash.

Mostly use buffet for breakfast as a fast option to start the day. I also love Blue Iguanas breakfast. Lunchtime usually do Guys or if on a newer ship I go to Shaq's Big Chicken. I always use the MDR for dinner and make use of anytime dinning to plan around the entertainment that's available for the night.

Blue Iguana breakfast burritos are the best!

The Carnival buffet is good for an EARLY breakfast starter & or a LATE night quick meal. Avoid the primetime service times & use the buffet as a quick stop & not a main meal spot & youll appreciate it more. Also, use a Guys Burger cloth napkin to handle the buffet tongs. Happy Cruising to you!

Yep, I cannot deal with Carnival buffets at peak times. So stressful!

I don't like wasting food, but I find most of what is available at the buffets inedible. I always load up my plate knowing I'm not going to be able to eat much of it. I'll know better than next time what to select, but still I end up with food that simply isn't worth eating.
Depending on the cabin or cruise package you have, you may be able to eat every meal in one of the restaurants for much better food and experience.

I have been on 15 cruises and NEVER eaten in the buffet. I tend to go for quick service or MDR for most meals. On carnival I LOVE Guys burgers

That's impressive! I've had a few cruises where I didn't do the buffet even one time, but I can't imagine 15 of them!

I use buffet only when I have excursion booked on port days, on the debarkation day and on embarkation day if MDR not open.

Thanks. We go less and less to the buffets and miss the COVID restart era when the cruise line staffed the buffets with servers. Much more sanitary without worrying about others.

Yessss, I far prefer buffets where staff still dole out the food. It's so much more hygienic, and I think it's actually faster!

I don't mind the buffet but as I tell my children it is all you can eat not all you can put on your plate

I almost eat meals exclusively at the buffet. I will eat at some of the smaller food places like pizza shop.
I do not do specialty dinning and can't stand the main dining rooms. I am not germphobic at all. So none of that bothers me.

I see some carnival hate in the comments but which ships do you hear of with more of the various viruses? Usually the ships with the older cruisers. I have seen so many times old dudes (my age and older) come out of the crapper without washing their hands. Virus spreaders!

I can’t count how many times I see people walking out of the restroom without washing their hands, either on cruise ships or restaurants. Gah! Some people can be disgusting 🤢. Norovirus has been spreading on land as well as on ships, but the cruise ships have to report it, and thus become newsworthy. Washing your hands is the best way to prevent it; the hand sanitizer doesn’t kill Noro as well as it does other things. Please wash your hands!
