i didn't know this but apparently they put glue in their clothes during the cutscene to emphasis the creases to give a more comic book like feel.
That makes the cutscenes even better, knowing that they had to film all this in questionably firm clothes 😂

My cousin and I used to play this game together during summer break. I remember once we sat the whole afternoon trying to evade the police. It used to be so much fun.
this game is perfect in my opinion - though that may be my nostalgia kicking in. for a game as utterly balls to the wall bonkers as this, the cheese made perfect sense. it all fit. everything was perfect as it related to the whole. everything?

Hell yeah, I don't think its just nostalgia talking! I re played the game for this video and it's still just as fun as it was back in the day. This is truly a game with a clear vision and it shows!

@@GameTalesHQ Yeah... This is one of the memorable games of my childhood. I still listen NFS music from time to time. It was a time when everything was good and people I cared about were alive
I don't like modern racing games, they don't have that vibe. Like it was a time when games were made by people, not corporations. Maybe that's why I like indie games now

A remake/remaster of this game can't come soon enough.
That would be amazing.
Check out NFS Most Wanted 2012. Not exactly a Remake or a Remaster. Besides, there are tons of mods that allow you to play on 4k, with very decent graphics, shaders, physics. Sadly, even if there ever is a remaster, its going to suck gonads of planetary proportions, come loaded with mtx, over priced hardware requirements, and need multiple Denuvos and DRMS, and Launchers. Why would anyone sane buy that? LOL

Wow, this was a VERY nostalgic video for me! I remember playing Most Wanted back in the day on my PS2, I only played it on console and I cant even remember the last time I really saw much gameplay of it... I really think I last saw it like 13 or 14 years ago! First thing that jumped out was the music. I forgot just how good it is, especially that theme tune playing in the main menu, which I many times let play out for a good while before starting the game, lol. At some point I lost the DVD so sadly I can't just replay it again... might order another copy for my PS2 if I cannot find that disc, I think if I revisit this it should be on console haha!
I think the main things that I loved about this game were the amazing sound design and also the police chases. I sucked at the racing but I loved the chases! Sound design wise I also remember that the more mundane parts of the game, specifically the menus were accompanied with rather satisfying SFX and camera movements.
Other than that... I think Most Wanted should be seen as a sort of reference in the series in order to compare to. I think many newer Need for Speed games just... don't really do it for me, especially the new Most Wanted game which feels nothing like the graffiti sprayed and gritty original. The best way I can describe the original is that it made sense all around and didn't shy away from trying something new. The devs knew what they wanted to do with that game and managed to see that vision through. I think it was a special release in the series!
This has to be my favorite licenced soundtrack in gaming, there's maybe two tracks that i don't enjoy as much. The rest are all absolute bangers. For some reason EA decided it was not worth it to make NFSMW available on origin, steam or GOG. So it is literally impossible to get a hold of this game unless you've got a physical copy of the game (which i still have for the PC) or download the files some other way. Tracking down a PS2 copy for old times sake does sound good though :)
Yeah! The SFX in the menu's is super crispy, i didn't mention it in my review but I really noticed it when i turned of music to record gameplay. I'm not even sure how to describe it, it fits the game perfectly though.
Agreed, you can see that this game had a strong direction and all parts work togheter as a whole to accomplish that direction. I think it is absolutely INSANE that they haven't taken a good look at what made this game tick. A racing game from 2005 selling this much should make all alarm bells ring at EA, yet they keep releasing games that sell like 1/8th Most Wanted did. Personally I think it is the in depth chase system that appeals to a broader audience. I'm not a huge racing game fan myself but the chases kept me engaged for hours in 2006 and all the times I played this game after. I think a lot of non-racing fans felt the same way. Also, this 2005 game isn't perfect. There's so much potential to improve it, yet this is still the best we got.

@@GameTalesHQ I think the soundtrack here is a blessing and a curse. Sadly licensing kills a lot of games or changes them drastically (examples: GTA 4 and its altered soundtrack, or the Chronicles of Riddick games which were unlisted due to Atari not renewing the license to the Riddick franchise).
I didn't know that Most Wanted was abandon ware, but knowing this I won't feel bad downloading the files somewhere else 😅

Craziest part is just as I was watching this video i was wondering how the ending to this game was coz i only played until the 3rd blacklist and stopped for whatever reason. And this guy shows the ending too

Once in a school we were arguing about who is the best player among us... arguments were very heated and i was loosing patience with my classmate. Until my friend asked us - did you finish the game ? I did few days before and my classmate was just before razor. Well my friend judged and said that I clearly better player just because of that. I felt that I won again ! Especially after so many retries with razor race...

Gosh that game was legendary! I have acyually seen a video of some new NFS and thought about how amazing MW was... I would literally rather play this than this crappy new one

I miss so much NFS World, that was the perfect game.
I've never liked the styling and color palette of this game. Unlike Underground series, I believe they made as a huge mistake by carrying street racing to day time. Street racing is a night time culture. And too much blur...It made me feel like I'm driving in puke...
