looks like an awesome day! I won't make it out to Lake Michigan this summer, but can't wait to get after them next year. Sounds like its been a great bite this year.
Back in the mid 1970's my dad and mom used to go out fishing with a farmer friend on Lake Michigan in a 14 foot rowboat with a 10 HP motor and no trolling motor don't even know if they had been invented yet. They used to troll just off the shoreline on days without wind or if the wind was blowing from the Wisconsin side that they were on. My mom has a picture of her framed on their wall of a 30 pound plus king salmon they caught one time. I think that the fishing is now out farther and they would be unable to fish out of a tiny boat like that and it's a lot easier with electronics. They might have had the kind that printed out on rolls of paper back then I still have my dad's fishing rod/reel setup for regular fishing he ordered from Bass Pro Shops back in the early eighties that he gave me and bought a new setup.
the old school style of salmon trolling works just as well as this new tech stuff in my opinion. don't need to spend 20 grand on fishing accessories to catch kings. It's getting a little out of hand in my opinion
And it always important to make sure the angle of the dangle is proportionate to the circumference of the perimeter. Some boats run baits better than others. A bomb wont go on my boat but it will on my friends boat. Dont get it. Megatron is a good flasher on Michigan side this year as well. Tight lines brother
I run a Ranger 620 and I don’t want to put riggers on it. Can I get by with wire divers (2) to get down far enough for Kings ? Even when they’re real deep ? I also have the torpedo weights to add if needed too. I’m a rookie at this for sure 👍
Great video as always. Appreciate the information on tips and tactics. Maybe more info on diver settings and actual depths they run? Low versus high? Also lure choices for early, mid day, and late, sunny versus cloudy? Just a few thoughts for you :)
Question. I run double slide divers my down diver is a mag slide on a 2 setting and high is a standard slide diver on a 4 setting. I feel like if i go lower like you suggested i fet tangles. How or why do you feel comfortable running closer setting then me is it a difference between slide and just a dipesy?
Thanks for sharing the set up info. Like to learn more about rigging and equipment. Nice job!

My guy, awesome content. How are you not releasing those little kings tho? No net, pliers, release
@@TheeRiverGoat I would if they didn't taste good haha
Are you running the kicker and steering with the front trolling motor?
@adeptdetailing1567 yes! I set my terrova on 4.5 to 5 for thrust and run the auto pilot - using the kicker to push the boat
very nice video - really want to do that with you
great video, what were the water temps you saw while trolling?
@markriederer8896 on that day we had low 60's on the surface, and 48 degrees 50 feet down
What HP kicker you run?
@@outdoorrn2980 I have a 9.9
