- The Fujifilm x100VI is an incredible camera, but you'd think that an incredibly sought after camera such as this would have these 5 things down perfectly.. but, like everything in life it still has it's flaws.
Here are 5 things I HATE about the Fujifilm x100VI
0:00 - 0:55 - Intro
0:55-2:14 - First
2:14 - 3:35 - Second
3:35 - 4:43 - Third

Here's a tip for transferring photos using the fujifilm app --- go into your camera to network setting and set your wifi from 2.4ghz to 5 ghz speed. Your transfer speed on to the app will be significantly faster. Each photo should take about 2~4 seconds to transfer.
2-4 second photo transfers would be fantastic!
Professional Fuji shooter here; hate from Atlanta.
The list of things I hate in life is very slim, but that traffic in ATL is definitely on the list.
Hello, Fujifan
Can relate to many of these as a fuji user! I don't have the x100vi though. But the "instax" etc fonts looking like their logos actually help me recognize them easier.
Ah. makes sense with that + the Frame.io - but all the others are still off. 😅
I call stink on "every Fuji photographer I know focuses manually" this camera isn't made for sports, wildlife or other very fast moving subjects. Portraits, landscapes, street photography, grab shots at a wedding it does just fine 😊 thanks for the video!
Ok - I do only know 8 Fuji shooters personally who shoot full time Fuji professionally. 3 of which work for the same company. But, all 8 are big time manual focus guys. 🤷🏼♂️
I thought that most people think Sony's UI is the worst haha. Doesn't make Fuji's good though
Fair point on all, although I think when fuji shooters talk shooting manual focus/zone focusing they're mainly talking about the interchangeable lens cameras. It's pretty awesome to have a manual focus 1.2 lens that's TINY, and you can only have that with a manual focus lens.
x100vi is an incredible camera. Sure, not perfect but there's literally no other camera that packs this much in one small package. The 'x100vi alternatives' youtube videos are proof, there are no real alternatives atm haha. Ricoh GRiii would be the closest, but still missing a ton of stuff
I agree, there are no better alternatives. I was talking with a friend this weekend on the film simulations and how even if I wanted to edit Sony photos, I couldn’t get the look that the x100vi can give me straight out of camera. It’s in a league of its own. Which, is why even though there are things I hate about it - it’s still a phenomenal camera.
Professional Fuji shooter here: prepare for my biased opinion! Just kidding, I shoot several systems including Fuji. They got mid range autofocus, and it’s probably an unfair comparison coming from Sony. Also don’t let these other Fuji tell you otherwise, they shoot manual focus because they can’t lock focus in properly. Also it’s a damn shame Fuji didn’t update the focus motor on these and it’s probably part of the reason the focusing isn’t great
I’ve read a good bit about how it could be a lens issue not being able to keep up with the newer software. Since it’s still the same old lens from the V. Even in all of the example photos that were shown, the software in camera recognizes a face/person. But the autofocus just misses still subjects sometimes. 🤷🏼♂️
It also has s lot of focus issues on near infinity distance on single AF.
Interesting!
@@RossBarnett02 I have several series of images taken at around 15 meters. Stationary objects and all images are out of focus even though I re-focused again and again. Same issue on my X-H2 with wide angles.
Regarding the transfer speed, you may be using the 2.4GHz channel, which is the default. Using 5GHz channel gives faster transfer speeds.
Oooo - I’ll check that out and see what I have it set to. Appreciate that!
Wow. The comment section's blown up with a bunch of "professiona Fuji shooter here..."
I mean, makes sense. My channel (and professional life) are very much ‘not Fuji.’ So, although the pros can’t use autofocus fill time, they definitely are able to offer some good insight. 😉
Wrong for the flash, you don't have to turn the sound on (:
Man I learn so much from this app. Appreciate the comment. I took an hour this morning to dive back into the menus and manual and you’re right. I’m not 100% sure how or what made me have that thought process.
Edited the video to not misinform others 🤙🏼
The only thing keeping me from Fuji is AF. Literally just that.
I feel like with most cameras, once you learn the limitations and learn how to work around the quirks you’re good to go. But, I get it. I love me some good quality autofocus.
Ebay scalper's camera. Everyone could have enjoyed it and it could have put Fujifilm on par with Canon, Nikon and Sony but this manufacturing fiasco shows their true color as a third rate Japanese camera brand - made in china 🤪
I’ve heard the term “eBay scalper” a few times regarding this camera. Makes sense, but I also know I bought 2 of my 4 Sony A7SIII cameras from eBay in 2020 waiting on preorders. So, I guess anything on back order can be considered an eBay scalper camera. Supply and demand.
@@RossBarnett02 More power to you bro to have the disposable income to spend above and beyond the msrp. For us mere mortals, we will wait as we are just not waiting to buy the camera at the right price but also for the warranty it gives us when we buy it from an authorized retailer.
Professional Fuji shooter here; it’s actually not the reason we pull focus manually. I won’t defend Fuji and say it’s the best AF but the conclusion you drew isn’t accurate
So what you’re telling me is that Fuji people just have a natural desire to want to pull that focus manually. Regardless of the situation - they live to have their pointer finger & thumb resting on a focus ring.
So, when they adopt the Fuji system, they feel right at home and never want to leave. Not that they’re forced into manual focus because they have no other option in life.
Makes sense.
What's the fifth thing?
I guess we’ll have to save that for another video…
Professional Fuji shooter here too; AF works well when I need it to. I look at AF as training wheels. Why use it when I can accomplish a similar outcome while eliminating the probability of machine error? AF def has its place! To each their own! And no, we don't think we're better than you. :)
So far I’ve learned that Fuji’s Autofocus stands no chance for a 2 year old on the kiddy slide at the local water park.
The lens sucks. Let's be honest. It's noisy. Focusses slow. Depth of field is too deep. Has no character, at all. There's a reason why x100 users (yea i'm one of them) are obsessed with film simulations and softening filters... the lens by itself takes photos that are dull and lifeless....
And worst of all - it's awful to use as a manual lens.... which defeats the purpose of a manual style camera in the first place.
