  • In this episode I go over in detail how to make what I believe to be the strongest bridle you can make for a removable planer. Not to be confused with the easiest way, which can be done with heavy monofilament. This method uses heavy braid fishing line... But not to worry, I break it down to it's most simplest components and teach you step by step how to tie this bridle and get it right on the first try. I also show you how to make a removable planer, along with discussing my choice of hardware used for making the bridle. If you're into planer trolling and having been scouring the internet for how to make a bridle, or maybe your struggling to tie one correctly... This episode's most definitely for you.
    Tight lines & good vibes.

Hi Heath, Thanks for the tip. You always have good ideas for a video. Say "Hi" to the Crew for me. All's well up here. I went surf fishing last week but it was low tide and no bait fish in the surf. I did scout a few beaches and found some nice sand bars to fish at high tide. The trough between the beach and sand bar can be good spots at high tide. Take care and good luck, Mickey

Hi Mickey, Hope you had a great 4th. I took the girls out fishing for a little bit. Then we celebrated at home. I wonder if you get a good Pompano run up there... that's some good fish to bring home. And they are caught surf fishing. All is good here.. one more month until school starts again for the girls. can't wait. Talk to you soon. take care

Do you use the planer trolling for small tuna such as yellow fin or bonito?

Fishing in 80-140 feet of water, in a perfect world. What 3 rigs would you troll if able to get them all out at the same time? I typically troll two bucktails and one x-rap, what would you do? I have not used a planer yet, but I did buy a couple.

I'd have out at least one or two planers... and then either Billy bait mini turbo slammer (pearl blue), white 1 Oz trolling feather or 3/5 Oz white bucktail jig.

what about the ceramic on the rings, the swivel should cut the ceramic too much easily. With plenty of pulley rings, the swivel doesn't slip over and it's blocked. What to do with this? Thanks for explanations

I haven't had either of the problems you are mentioning. The swivels work just fine if you get the correct size.
