- Castle Lipnice nad Sázavou is one of the biggest arictocratic castles in Czechia so it cand dominate many royal castles.
Castle was build in 1310 on high hill as a guarding place for its vast surroundings.First written record is from 1314.
In 1350 castle is given to Emperor Charles the IV. and grants towm right to Lipnice.
Castle owners were supporting Hussites movement so there was no damage during this time.
During 30year war castle and town Lipnice were captured by Swedish troops and again recaptured by Imperial troops but the devastation was so big the castle could not recover.
During 18th and 19th century castle was becomming a ruin. In 1869 the castle and town Lipnice was hit by enourmour fire.
First successful renovation were made in 1913 and continued to 1953 when castle was given into the state care.
