Perfectly worded Mike. People need to stop trying to force people into political correctness. Housewife is not a dirty word. Those ladies (Filipinas) are proud to provide their family with care. I tell my friends, "Stop thinking like an American - we're talking about another country with different values "
Great point. People need to "leave the west in the west". I don't think many westerners are capable of understanding the Philippine mind set to be honest.
You're talking much more complex situation than that. My ladies brother married a Filipino, 15 years ago they'd many many Filipino couple friends. My lady and I attend the varied parties and boy howdy did she learn a lot. People gravitate towards my wife, personality, she was a model and more. Its not the Filipino's nor political correctness, it's American males. Their lifestyles, their lackings, their inability to succeed in life with an American woman, or even Japanese, South Korean, Canadian etc woman. Even of those groups of couples both married and not we'd see at these gatherings at her brothers only two of them have relationships that continue her brothers being one of them. Now a lot of those women who were in those relationships still attend the parties albeit many went back to the Philippines. Yes there are cultural differences and socio economic differences not to mention values. You could go talk with every one of them about the elder American males who come to the Philippines and they'll be completely honest about it as is her brothers wife. I've heard it time and again, in fact at these parties many are literally playful with me as they know I'm more than happy with my lady, having no interest in relationship or anything with them, nothing to gain, nothing to fear. It's not them, its the American males and when they speak of it, it's down right incredible. You can call it transactional all ya' like to justify whatever but they'll tell you nine of ten of the elder Americans seeking their company need psychiatrists. That's the truth and also why the relationships don't tend to last or someone "real" what actually isn't all mentally AFU comes unto the scene. Here's what's funny is when they talk about it and you get to hear what they really think, Filipino women are not stupid, not at all. They don't see any of what you speak as "transactional" not in the least albeit they'll play the game seeing the American male as mentally unfit. They are going to TAKE and their not giving ANYTHING of their real selves, so its not a relationship at all nor do any of them short of the two remaining relationships see American elder American in much anything buy mentally unfit. My wife's brothers wife has went to college here, they've been together over 20 years in a REAL relationship and her family in the Philippines adores him because he's not mentally unfit and she's near 30 years his younger. Why any man would think a "transactional relationship" is anything at all displays mental problems. Here, S. Korea, Japan, Russia, Mexico and the list go on or through history the term is "CONSORT" be there intimacy or not. The reasons for consorts have certainly had many over literally hundreds of years. In old Europe when arranged marriages were wide spread those with means often had consorts, often many consorts if they were wealthy. You go to the complete opposite side of it for the temporary and say Prostitute or for say a dinner date an "Escort." The American's who seek relationship there is telling and those men know it if they take the time to actually look inside themselves and realize WHY they are seeking that. It's THEIR lackings and the fact their willing to travel, pay, support or even seek such to have a relationship says it all. We've had these talks at parties handfuls of times. The guy wanting a prostitute or Escort knows exactly what he's after... The guy travelling half way around the world to find love or relationship who's elderly in the Philippines in compare may know what he wants, but he's wacked out either mentally, emotionally or both and the proof is they cant succeed finding same domestically. The Philippine women are very very open about all of it at these gatherings. "Stop thinking like an American - we're talking about another country with different values," this would have those Philippine women rolling in laughter. Its not about their values, its about the elder American males lack thereof and mental/emotional fitness and any young Filipino lady who's honest with you will say so. Sure, many will "Go for the ride" that is to say be with an elder American male to eventually get their estate as a goal, move to America, marry to grab some wealth which says everything about what they really think of said male.
I was your podcast often. You seem to have a lot of sense and understanding. My question to you is: At 73 and well off, would it be unreasonable to go there to have a child because I want one?
@@robertsepulvado1974 Seriously? As I said in another post, my wife's brother is married to a Filipino woman over 20 years now. Every year there are tree to four parties where there are 15-20 other ladies who's relationships came apart, all Filipinos. Why would a 73 year old male potentially mess up a young woman's life because he wants a child? Really? How would you feel is a 73 year old male approached you're twenty something daughter? He offers your daughter wealth because he wants a child. Really? You tell your daughter go for it because your daughter needs money? You know in America there are heaps of women with children who need help. Real help or babies who need help. What about them? Why not be a surrogate grandfather and make someone elses life much better versus wanting to get it at it with some young foreign lady? Whats wrong in the Philippines is elder American males wanting use their means to feel good and usually screwing up some young womens life. Growing old can be difficult, lonely and more but that is no reason to use one's means to manipulate young ladies. It wont make you and younger, not a day. But what it will do is alter the course of some completely innocent womans life because of your self-interest. Get real.
If I find a good Filipina, she will be part of a trust I'm leaving for my only child and grandchild. If she spends the best years of her life with me, the least I can do is take care of her in her golden years.
Excellent Mike! You’re my favorite TH-camr! Your folksy way of communicating, your sincerity and maturity are a great example for all. Anyone who criticizes is unhappy, has never been there, and wants you to me like them, miserable. I feel exactly as you do. 70 is too old to be a parent if one prioritizes the child. The most important asset I will leave my sweetheart will be the knowledge, insight, and wisdom how to build a great life for herself. Otherwise leaving a home to live in comfortably and dividends to live on is enough. I 100% agree! Leaving a wad of cash will slip into the hands of the family and she may be left with a hard life. Another excellent video Mike 🙏🏼
My wife is pretty much sorted. When I met her she was living as a slave in HK, out of a suitcase with no savings at all, sending all her income back to the Philippines. Nine years on, she now owns USD1M in property, has her own business and an income of around USD3000 pcm. She has also raised her 'social' standing being the President of the HOA. Sometimes, however, she seems to have a short memory, forgetting where she was when I met her and where she is now!.
5 years alone? That’s crazy at our age! I’m an American white female. I’ll never move to the Philippines. But, I watch both Mike and Paul because I’ve always been interested in the different ways people live. As far as it being a transactional relationship, isn’t every relationship somewhat transactional? I’m happily married for 44 years. There are certain things we expect from each other. Honestly, loyalty, looking after each other. Someone that steps up when you are on your ass with illness. Someone who puts you first. I happened to be a wife that always took care of the house and cooking and shopping but always brought home a paycheck. At the time I wondered if I was stupid for doing both, because it was hard. But, both my mom and my grandma had always worked, so I didn’t know any different. Now that I’m collecting a social security check and realize that a U.S. wife that doesn’t work outside the home gets a portion of her husband’s social security I especially feel stupid. But, it is what it is/was. I still feel that being a housewife, if done correctly is a noble position. I also believe that a lot of the men who comment on these channels are still in the middle of their "all women suck" stage of life after leaving bad relationships. So, id take their comments with a grain of salt. Both you and Paul have found good hearted women (that happen to be attractive) and you're looking out for them. As a true man should.
The world was a different place when I was 8 (44 years ago) than when I was 25 and married the first time. I will tell you I love sucess stories of marriage. Thank you.
I happily provide for my Thai girlfriend. She gets it. I wake every day and wish her a good day today. Her job is to look good, be agreeable and provide company. My job is to pay for everything she needs and to protect her. She has a few chores around the house that if I tried to do, she would resent me for. She has seen me work 18 hours a day when I need to and she said early on that she doesn't cook. It suits me fine as I like to eat out anyway. My life is better for having her in it and all it costs me is money.
You're one of the very few truthful and honest Philippines TH-camrs that explains it the way it is and is real with the listeners. For that, you will be respected by us.
On a foundational level, all relationships are transactional. The "currency" can be money, friendship or company, and "love" (that sense of wellness simply by being with each other). In every relationship, without that reinforcement, there would be no momentum to continue the relationship. When other people jump in a try to judge if someone else's relationship, it wanders into the mind your own business realm.
Sound information Mike! I hear you offering some basic ways to help secure your Filipina’s future and all have their merits. Thanks for your support of us in you spending the time to make these vlogs! Much appreciated! Peace ☮️
Hi Mike I’ve been watching TH-camrs in the Philippines since I went there to meet my wife in 2015 I really like your approach You really try to find important topics and help people make decisions You are a good influence 👍🏻
If the age gap is at least 20 years, he should take it upon himself to help her with the ability to take care of herself in managing her life and especially learning how to manage money both short and long term. If children are involved, this is even more important. Depending on what her role in the relationship is, he should leave her an agreed upon amount of money or a home to carry on after he dies.
A mutual benefits transaction, possibly? You’re providing for the family’s needs, and she’s providing a clean, comfortable home. As the old saying goes ‘you can’t take it with you when you’re gone!’ applies. So don’t burn through your emergency money while alive, but leave your family better off than when you arrived! I still need someplace to live, while I’m on this side of the grass, and I’ll have the means to buy/build a comfortable house, so why not leave that for your family when you’re gone? When I did my videos about house hunting, it seemed like all of the “Debbie Downers” took the opportunity to provide their negative comments on the subject! But I don’t need to justify my desire to provide safety, security and comfort to my family, while I’m here, and after I’m gone! Good video, as usual, Mike!
… so much respect for all Expats, more power to you all. Honestly, I can only stay in the Philippines for one month at a time. Family military legacy and wealth inheritance will attach me and my family to the U.S. for the next 50 years. I’m planning now for a one-month visit and it will be one for the ages. I might just drop by in Dumaguete, Philippines, for 48 hours. 😅
This discussion comes up with me and my Filipina wife. She doesn't like it like you said. But she needs to know that she married a disabled veteran she gets half my pay . So teaching her what she needs to do. Plus we bought land in Philippines and building a house. I'm insuring not her but me she's taken care of in my mind.
Give your wife half of what’s coming into the house right now. She has to wait until you pass away to get treated right? This is your life partner and thus she should be getting half of everything that comes into that home. My wife gets my entire paycheck deposited into her bank account. Her money is my money and my money is her money. I hear you guys always talking about giving y’all wives a certain amount of pesos every month, as if they were your children.
@Lifeisforreallad believe me my Asawa wants for nothing here in Florida. She's well taken care of but the democrats destroyed America she even wants out of here. You can ask her personally. She will tell you she never seen so many backstabbing people like in America and fake friends. So we are bailing out of America like so many others. We been together 6 years. Way better life in Philippines than America and that's coming from a disabled veteran that served this country 14 years till injuries. So I value American people here in America very low they speak sideways out their mouth as I say. It's sad but time to go
@@TandCinthePH i wish mine would get more involved with money she seems to refer to my money not her yet i have told her my money is your money mostly i want her to know process i don't give her allowance she just buys what she wants
@@garrylafferty100 great and what I stated isn’t 100% across the board. Most of these guys comments are horrible, one guy compared a human being to a puppy, and to train them as such. A lot of these guys has been so damaged and ran to the Philippine to seek healing, but it’s within them and a philipina and I love when they call them my philipina as if they are a possession. Mike and Paul constantly call their wives this and give them a stipend each month. I challenge both to treat their wives as equal partners and give them half of every thing that comes into their marriage.
Mike - It is an excellent informational video discussing how real men care for their families. The man is the provider and protector; all your suggestions are spot on, correct? Sadly, today, we have a lot of average to-sorry men who just don’t get it. If any man can seek out and date or marry a Filipina who genuinely loves and takes care of you. She is adding more years to your life, and we all know that the older we get, the more difficult it is to do several things in the house. In America, back up to the 1960s, this was a model for America. I plan to retire at 58 in two years, and I pray God sends me an excellent traditional woman. Any man knows that in a relationship (marriage or dating), we have to pay, especially if you live in a 3rd world or developing country. For every man or woman watching this video, share it with others. Please remember that Filipinas are scared, wondering how they will live or survive when the man dies or has to go back to their country for medical reasons permanently and can’t return. Man, you must plan and ensure her happiness and for the children. Mike, if I can make a suggestion, let’s hear the opinion of the Filipinos about this topic.
Good argument for staying in the PI. If you bring your girl to the U.S. she is going to want to work in order to support her family back home. This is what happened with my wife and fortunately we had a good balance and made it work. This was due in part to the fact that we brought her parents to the U.S. and her mom took care of the house and watched the kids. This actually worked out great and we have now been married for 32 years. On the flip side, if living in the PI, why would you want a wife or girlfriend? You have the freedom to do as you please and can get sex anytime you want, depending on where you are located and what the night life is like.
@@Maputi_na_Kalabaw If only motivated by marriage, why are most of the wives 30 years younger? I would argue there is some lust and ego involved. I wouldn't try to sugar coat intentions too much.
HI MIKE , still in USA here have some siblings left. I try to have the conversation about when I die or they die , who survives and where/how. They DON T want to hear it or discuss it. So it isn t just FILIPINAS. My point is to TY , that you have the courage to bring this up and moreso , to think/do/plan for the future of your FILIPINA when we pass. No hate here , just appreciation for your videos. TY GOD BLESS CIAO
You are just a goodhearted and reasonable man. And bcs it's normal for you to be that, you don't even see it. Never more, in your videos name haters. You can't forbid them to be what they are. BUT, YOU CAN BE YOURSELF. Don't, by mentioning them, give them credits they don't "diserve". The only price they diserve is to let them be and "get payed" by theirs own feelings and emotions, they go through and by that damage there bodies. They offer you to go the same way. Say no to that gift. God bles you and your wife.
No hate. Very thoughtfully done. And you're the only one who is talking about these things. You have character and a "do the right thing attitude", which is rare these days. Just keep being you! :)
Well said! When I was married and in the military, the stay at home mom had a military acronym CINC House….it’s translated Commander in Chief House, basically boss of the house.😂
I have a foreign thai wife. I try to teach her about working hard and investing rather than depending on the government, but i discuss social security survivors benefits. If you actually research it, a wife on a greencard can apply for citizenship after 3 years in the usa , then she gets SS survivors benefits. Citizens can be denied the benefit.
@@michaelwise6780 my wife has citizenship. the point i am making is that you only need to stay 3 years on a marriage related green card to apply for citizenship and solidify your benefits as a CITIZEN. there is a lot of talk as staying 5 years on a green card, its easier to just spend the $700 on the citizenship application, study 100 civics questions, give answers at interview, and go to swearing in ceremony.

There was a time when of moms expression of love was taken care of the home, cooking wonderful meals, making sure everybody had clean clothes and a packed lunch and there was joy in this. It depends, if she leaves you for someone else you owe her very little. If you end the relationship because you want to move on and how long you were together. You should leave her in a good place. If you asked her to quit her job, you should find her a place to live and give her 6 to 12 months of wages. I would suggest you send her monthly installments. There could be a lot of pressure from family members for her to give them money., Simple rule, better than you found her.
I do not have a Filipina yet, I hope to one day. I have been stacking cash to retire in the Philippines for 5 years. I am 53 and I almost have enough that neither me, my future wife or my future family will ever have to work again for money but it will be for a greater purpose. I think it is selfish to not have enough money and resources to take care of yourself and the family you are going to have. I have a pension and I’ll one day get social security, but I also have 10 years of my yearly income saved. I could easily retire in the USA now, but there is nothing for me here. I am going to keep my wealth secret from everyone until I find a really good woman who will love me for me and not because I wealthy.
IN REALITY, YOU CAN NOT GO BACK TO THE U.S.A. AND LIVE THERE AGAIN BECAUSE FOR SURE YOU WILL BE A DUMP HOMELESS IN THERE!!!!!!! REMEMBER AND DO NOT FORGET THAT YOU ARE HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES BECAUSE YOU ARE IN SURVIVAL MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE OF YOUR VERY SMALL MONTLY SSA PENSION!!!!!!! THAT IS IMPOSIBLE TO SUPPORT / SURVIVE IN THE U.S.A.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT WORRY ABOUT JANET BECAUSE WHEN YOUU PASS AWAY SHE WILL COME BACK TO HER PREVIOUS LIFE THAT GO BACK TO BE A HOUSE MAID AGAIN AND DIE VERY POOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOT IT?????????????????
Mike i truly believe the best thing you can give a Filipina is access to all the benefits of America. the US is still the gold standard. you know this. just ask any of the millions of Filipinas who would love to have access to a good paying job here in the states. access to affordable healthcare, social security, medicare, clean water, good housing, etc. the list goes on and on. that is why people everywhere want to come to the US. i appreciate my life in the US every minute of every day of my life. nothing else compares. that is ultimately the best thing i can give my Filipina or anybody for that matter
Mike it Depends on the relationship! What did she give me in life??!! If the Filipina was young, fresh, without children and I was her first option in life…meaning she was virgin or didn’t have children and full value to a Pinoy but chose me over any man including a pinoy… than thats true love and I would leave her financially set for life after I’m gone But many Filipinas true heart belong to a Pinoy…they are willing and do give a Pinoy everything ie virginity…Filipinas are taught the greatest gift you can give a man is your virginity also they give the Pinoy many children, and marriage…they give their pure heart to a pinoy. and if it doesn’t work out with a pinoy they go to plan B…looking for a foreign man to financially support her and her children that were left over from her filipino relationship…. Guys that get into relationships with women like this should leave them very little.Because you met her as a single mom….obviously you wasn’t her true love and first option…so I leave her very little…same as she gave me…very little…..leftovers from her true love relationship with a pinoy
@@mikesphilippineretirement Fresh girl (women without a baby) vs single mom is very different. A fresh girl especially a virgin will only give herself to a guy that she genuinely love vs a single mom….which the single mom already gave her value to a guy and now looking for a new guy that can provide financial security….to fund her past relationship with her TRUE LOVE. Also single mom value is a lot lower to most men than a fresh girl value. This is common sense!
It was nice to hear an American male speak about caring for their companion and recognizing responsibility, justice and just fair play. What your acquaintance did, is beyond my comprehension, he stooled her youth. There probably were no children because he didn't want any, now she's alone and can't have children. He got what he wanted and nothing else matters .
🙂 normally nobody should be messing around and using 'good' girls', its just not right, if your intentions are only to Lease or Rent you better make that very clear up front, negotiate a price and pay her fairly and promptly. Thats in any part of the world wether its asia or latin america. And dont get attached. Make it clear, that way you don't have any problems when you come back to the country, you dont want to be worried and looking over your shoulders all the time.
It’s one of those “ it depends” type situation. Short term 6 months -1 year and you decide that you’d rather be back in the USA then maybe just a lump sum. Long term such as marriage where you intended to be with her rest of your life then some land maybe a house if you have the fund for that. Maybe Some kind of income to help her after your gone.
Hello Mike, I have been watching a few of your videos. I can appreciate your advice and I agree with you. I live near Manila for almost 6 years and have been married for 12+ years to my wonderful filipina wife!!! Take Care and God Bless.
Buy land build what she will be proud to own. You are in good shape you will make 84. She will own a house you can buy an existing house build equity. Not paying rent will not cover mortgage, however if you have 84 in you ,the equity built will exceed other options. You are a very good man.
The idea of having a child is not my idea of a good way to take care of my Filipina because it eliminates my ability to have the retirement I worked so hard to get and it also ties her and therefore me down. Maybe an annuity that kicks in on your passing would be a better way to go. Then she gets a monthly amount rather than a lump sum that she would blow.
Thanks Mike for doing this follow up video after yesterday’s discussion. Also thank you for continuing to remind all expats to be honorable in their dealings with foreign women. Setting aside geographic location, there are several types of men in heterosexual relationships. There are the men who are sincerely seeking an enduring quality relationship with a good woman. These men will do everything they can to be as honorable as they can be. There are men who are cads from youth until old age. These men never stop thinking with the small head. Because of this they will always bring dishonor wherever they go. There are men who have good hearts; but are weak to temptations. Life will eat these men alive. Then there are the amoral/sadistic men. Theses men either do not care about doing a woman wrong or worse, enjoy using a woman. Do not be this last type and pray you never have a daughter who falls victim to such a man. He’s the one who will commit murder for the insurance money. Too many commenters from yesterday’s discussion fell into one of the less honorable categories listed above. Most fell into the “cad” category.
I was 48 back in 2010 when i went to the Philippines to meet my chatmate, she was 42, the last daughter out of four at home and was taking care of her mother and father. I Anyway! Realizing that the children help take care of mom and dad and i couldnt have anymore children and my wife was older I told her mother that i would build her a house in Camiguin Island where shes from. I spent all my savings at the time $5000 and purchased a lot for her around 2011. Today she hasa modest humble littl home that shes so happy with. I insured myself up till i was seventy for $500,000 if something happend to me prematurely. Now shes 56 here in the states workung a job since 2012and has a 401k and she will be fine. At 70 i willdraw my maximum S.S. and we will travel back and forth to and from the Phils for our retirement. She is still the happy living person she was when we met. You just have toake sure your make a wise decision when chosing your filipina wife.
You hundred percent correct ❤ , Don't forget to bring them up, Christian Church. Folks you are much happier in later years.😊 Allied Degree RN,CLS,Physical therapist or Radiology tech is the best for the kids boomerang back to the U.S
Happy weekend Mike. Awesome video. You’re a good man and you are 100% on point on what a decent person should be doing for their woman, long-term girlfriend, or wife. I have two letters for all the haters F/U 🐸🙌
Mike, you're giving the best advice any man or Philippino/Asian woman can hear. If ANY man really wants to prove his love and DEVOTION to a Philippino/Asian woman,...The RIGHT and CORRECT action to take is to sign her name on every financial/legal document you own, (house, property, land, bank accounts, S. Security benefits and ALL your future earnings) thats actually the perfect and best way to prove to a Philippino/Asian woman that you are truly devoted to her. Thanks Mike,...you're a good man❤.
I agree about the property. Buy it as soon as you can, and a building or a house can be erected later, when you have the funds for it. The property prices are climbing all over, and the old house I paid 225K for, some 20 years back is now worth well over a million. Bringing your wife over to the USA to live for 5 years, may be a good idea if you both are young, but at your age it is really not an option. I came to think about another way to distribute money over time to your girl after you are dead. You could investigate how much a trust fund arrangement would cost, if you use a local lawfirm to set it up. A testament that places all your values into the trustfund bank account after your estate has been settled, and the proceedings being paid monthly to your wife?
Never in the philippines: 1 buy land 2 start a business 3 loan money out A trust through a law firm? Nope. It will cost a fortune. I priced it already. Just will the money and let them blow it away on stupid stuff, or buy a home under her name there with a 15 year 10,000 a month morgage.
Hi Mike I've bought my wife a house and land and invested for her future and part of her family and I live very well here and happy knowing knowing knowing
The only problem with leaving a house and land is it produces no income. I think leaving a permanent income stream through investments is a better alternative if possible. Sorry to say but a house is a dead asset it doesn’t throw off any income.
The average time it takes to start withdrawalibg more cash benefits than one has paid in is 6-7 years. The math is not hard to figure out when for "X" amount of years you're only paying in $2-3k yearly total yet the average monthly payment is $1800. Just something to think about, especially those that depend solely on SS in retirement. Good content once again Mike.
Nice vlog. Responsibilty is important. Just FYI, for your foreign wife to legally get US citizenship, via marriage, you need to be living with her, full-time, in a shared residence in the US, for the required period. You cannot be living apart, except for brief periods, whether in separate countries, or even separate locations within the US. If it is later discovered that you were not living together, her citizenship can & will be revoked. She will be deported immediately & banned from returning to the US. This is a federal crime, so you will also likely face felony charges, which may result in prison time and fines. Up to you folks, but perhaps not something to mess with.
If you're going to view it as a pay for services rendered then it follows when those services are no longer rendered your obligation to pay has ended regardless of who ended the relationship. If you're a nice guy, and can afford it, a parting gift might be appropriate. This is for dating only. Marriage is a whole different game.
I agree that being a housewife is not a dirty word and there’s nothing wrong with being a housewife. But, of course, there’s nothing wrong with the woman working outside of the house either. And there’s nothing wrong with a guy being in the house and taking care of the kids. Marriage is a partnership and couples should utilize their strengths, whatever they may be. just my opinion.
Agree with the family will slowly "nickel, dime her". I am 74. Being a wartime veteran, if I married, she would be eligible for a pension for the difference between her income and 1,200 per month. I also am a 100% disabled which gives a possible $ 1,600 monthly pension. Both require 1 year of marriage.
Actually, just looked it up adopted children of a US citizen become US citizens as soon as they enter US. So something to check on since Janet has a son you could adopt him and he should be eligible for a portion of your Social Security. At least thats what it seems to say on the webpage I just looked at. I don't have that problem my wife and daughter live her in the US for the last 12 years.
Pay? Pay who? For what? I give her anything she needs and wants….Im not a believer in “allowance” Maybe I’m old school? Whatever the case, I promise you, my Filipina is living a life most only dream of, and I’m enjoying every moment of sharing what Ihave, for the true and honest love in return 🥰. I am lucky as you are in finding a good partner ❤️. I’m gonna spoil us “both” for the remaining time I have left. 🙏, which hopefully is many more years ☺️. She will never be without 🥰
When I started drawing on my company pension I had a few options as what to do with my pension when I die. Since I had a pension partner (my wife) I took the top option. When I pass she will get 100% of my pension for the rest of her life. Since I took this option and the age gap between my wife and I my monthly payment is very much reduced. However at the present time that amount is 55k peso per month. I am sure she can live on that.
LIFETIME! AND remember in a few short years you will be 73-74 knowing we are almost gone. I'm 73. I know. At 65 I was thinking 20-30 years ahead. Now I'm thinking a few years. Your brain will change. We are living on borrowed time. In a few years Janet will be nearing 40. Chances for marriage will be gone. Guys will be looking at the 20 year olds. So she needs much longer term. I don't want long term life saving measures draining savings.
It all depends on the position financially the man is but I also believe on leaving my significant other to be better off then when I met her. In my case a wealthy lady and two condos.
Hey Mike, thanks for this video. I’m moving to Bacolod in June and I’ll be meeting my LDR (she is 49) for the first time. I’m 71 in great health and very active but my main concern is how to take care of my new family after I’m gone. Realizing that I’m changing their life, I’m trying to figure out how to make sure they don’t have to go back to their old life. I would like to leave them their new home because it’s the least I can do after uprooting them from their familiar surroundings and that is my plan. Thanks Mike!
I suppose there's something to be said for your way of reasoning, but in most cases the first idea will be the worst. 95% of Filipinas can't handle money and I don't mean that in a negative way. How can you expect someone to be able to handle money if they never had any? Give a Filipina 10K, they will spend 10K. Give them 100K, they will spend that too. They will have one or two years of the great life and then they will be back as poor as you found them. Making provisions for them is a good idea, but finding the right way to do it is tough!
Good advice and I agree with you 100%. I also can't stand a couple of these vloggers saying it's a transactional relationship, it's this or its that. Dont come here to get married, if you come here and don't travel around then there's something wrong with you. Well maybe I don't want to travel all over the place. Maybe i just want to settle down , relax, and chill out. I bought my wife a lot in a gated community worth a lot. Lawyers and doctors live in this community. If anything should happen to me or to us, she's set. But I also left myself enough money to get back to the US if need be. Take care.
Hey man I was married to a Filipina and loved her ver much I got her a car helped her get a job and sent her to driving school and everything and at the end she still said I ruined her life as if it was way better there. The thing is they have to be accountable too for their behavior.. the one I had almost got me killed from all her boyfriends threatening me. All I can say is if she can’t stop her boyfriend’s threatening her husband then she should not be talking to any guy in the first place .
This from outsider who hopes to be there in a year. I can’t have kids I was fixated many years ago and I’m good with that. But I have thought about it been no problem with me if I find someone that has one or two kids and if it works out marrying them. After a year or two adopting the kids if this possible. They don’t get no social security money but I think they get USA visa . Put a small trust so that child can finish school and work overseas when of age and the child can take her mother with her in time . I hope to see the child succeed in life and be there watching her succeed in person
I'm 100% agreed on the traditional life. There is nothing wrong with it. Once I move over there, I won't let her work. I'll tell her if she wants to work, she can be single. The west has been corrupted by feminism combined with high cost of living. It's not really the best place anymore.
I have thought about this, even though I have not moved there yet and don't have a girlfriend. My thoughts are having my nephew in charge of a small trust fund where he will send her an allowance every month that way, she will be unable to give away the money, but instead she will be able to live off it.
I have to agree with you on this subject they'd be dogging us in the USA for this subject make it worth their time if you been married in the USA and divorced and see what that cost you
Interesting topic. If she inherits money from you that’s the same as winning lottery. And most lottery winners eventually go broke because of the lack of knowledge knowing how to handle large amount of money. So yeah, a Filipina will eventually go broke most likely regardless of how much money she inherits that’s the sad reality.
Leaving mine with a green Card, Really needed to brainstorm passive for her to pay the bills, I think we have it, As far as Cooking and cleaning lol, We are 50/50 split, Last person-up makes the bed, I do most laundry with Samsung front load, All funding is me, Mmmmm She does plant sales but not enough, So we come up with passive, Costed about 2.2 Not bad to pay the bills, as I’m gone, Break ups always 50/50, We deal, Philippines hers, USA my children, 🙂 You so on Family will suck them Dry, Then Gone, Passive is best, You need to trip up to see us Mike, Leyte, God Bless
It's good to not only have options but to have them outlined by someone who is living the life there. I guess your actions and choices will depend on circumstances. Are their children. Do you have trust respect etc. I'd be very reluctant to leave a lump sum in cash or readily available liquid assets. She may squander it probably with the help of family and friends which defeats the object of self sufficiency. Look at what do do with Janet Help and guide her in the set up of her TH-cam Channel. Talk to her about lifestyle choices and goals AND the impact both have on budget. To me these are far more valuable than any amount of money you provide. You've quoted a bible passage that hits the nail on the head perfectly. Give a man a fish you feed him for a day. Give him a fishing rod (and teach him how to fish) you feed him for life! Showing someone how to handle money and solve problems, I think, is far more valuable than any money you provide.😊
It's certainly cheaper to pay for sex rather than having a wife or girlfriend. But as far as what I'll leave my Mahal ko, I have a $250,000.00 life insurance policy. We're in the process of getting her k1 visa. We'll live here until I retire in 10.5 years. She will be my beneficiary to that policy. After we go back to Philippians permanently, when I retire, we'll have a nice nest-egg, with my 401k, and Pension. She'll survive me with all assets plus my insurance...
Good video, Mike. Thank you for speaking the the truth. I agree 💯! A man who won't take care of his wife needs to stay in the West where the wife doesn't want to be taken care of❗️
i call janet a traditional philipina and you guys are inside a traditional relationships you bring in the money into the house and janet is the boss of the house
By the way I’m not moving back to the U S for my wife besides she doesn’t want to either. She’s visited seven or eight times already. We spent six months RVing one year in the US.
Getting a Philipina to enter our world is like going to the pound or pet store. Let the "puppy" pick you. Then you have to train the "puppy". Filipinos don't have the Western long-term world view. We have to teach them financial planning and money management. Very few of them have ever had any amount of money to manage.
I'm interested in knowing if there are banks there that are safe to put a large amount of money? Could you leave 100 grand in a bank account there for your wife? Because if you can't, and your money is in a bank in The States, what does she do if there's a problem with the account? And there's always bank problems in The States. Are there safe banks there?
So for the time she was with you, you ELEVATED her life 5-10 fold, trips, coffee shops, restaurants, comfort, AC on demand, took her to luxury resorts, Bali, left her with memories of a lifetime etc. Lets say you did that for 3 years. So after that, you are supposed to pay her money? :D American guys are something else let me tell you!
@@mikesphilippineretirement I don't see my comments deleted? This is just another perspective. What about what I said is unreasonable? You can be a guy to take a woman out of destitute poverty and give her an incredible experience for three or five years that many of her friends and family would only dream of having. Think of it from that perspective is all. It's fine to disagree. Not all of us need to agree. Have a blessed night!
Perfectly worded Mike. People need to stop trying to force people into political correctness. Housewife is not a dirty word. Those ladies (Filipinas) are proud to provide their family with care. I tell my friends, "Stop thinking like an American - we're talking about another country with different values "
thanks Tom
You go to the complete opposite side of it for the temporary and say Prostitute or for say a dinner date an "Escort."
The American's who seek relationship there is telling and those men know it if they take the time to actually look inside themselves and realize WHY they are seeking that.
If she spends the best years of her life with me, the least I can do is take care of her in her golden years.
your plan is a good one JD
Another excellent video Mike 🙏🏼
thank you so much for your support
My wife is pretty much sorted. When I met her she was living as a slave in HK, out of a suitcase with no savings at all, sending all her income back to the Philippines. Nine years on, she now owns USD1M in property, has her own business and an income of around USD3000 pcm. She has also raised her 'social' standing being the President of the HOA. Sometimes, however, she seems to have a short memory, forgetting where she was when I met her and where she is now!.
thanks for sharing Josh
Thanks for watching and all your comments
Youre an American white female and will never move to the Philippines? Ok 😆😆😆

I agree
If she's faithful , trustworthy and honest, then yes, I can give her what she needs.

If the age gap is at least 20 years, he should take it upon himself to help her with the ability to take care of herself in managing her life and especially learning how to manage money both short and long term. If children are involved, this is even more important. Depending on what her role in the relationship is, he should leave her an agreed upon amount of money or a home to carry on after he dies.
yes you need to help her to be ready for life after you're gone
@@mikesphilippineretirementAbsolutely agree. One would do the same if they were still in the states.
@@whatsnext-007a good man would yes.
Good video, as usual, Mike!
some good points you have made
… so much respect for all Expats, more power to you all. 😅
see you in Dumaguete someday
This discussion comes up with me and my Filipina wife. She doesn't like it like you said. But she needs to know that she married a disabled veteran she gets half my pay . So teaching her what she needs to do. Plus we bought land in Philippines and building a house. I'm insuring not her but me she's taken care of in my mind.
great job taking care of her
Give your wife half of what’s coming into the house right now.

It is an excellent informational video discussing how real men care for their families.
I totally agree with you on this.
Well said brother.
Well spoken Mike, any man worth his salt would follow your advice .
You have the freedom to do as you please and can get sex anytime you want, depending on where you are located and what the night life is like.
thanks for the comment and info
Why? Because some men believe in marriage and aren't motivated by lust or greed or sloth or any of those deadly things.
@@Maputi_na_Kalabaw If only motivated by marriage, why are most of the wives 30 years younger? I would argue there is some lust and ego involved. I wouldn't try to sugar coat intentions too much.

I have a foreign thai wife. I try to teach her about working hard and investing rather than depending on the government, but i discuss social security survivors benefits. If you actually research it, a wife on a greencard can apply for citizenship after 3 years in the usa , then she gets SS survivors benefits. Citizens can be denied the benefit.
many rules about SS benefits
If she leaves the United States prior to obtaining her citizenship she would lose the benefits.

There could be a lot of pressure from family members for her to give them money., Simple rule, better than you found her.
every man should do the best he can
I do not have a Filipina yet, I hope to one day.

Mike i truly believe the best thing you can give a Filipina is access to all the benefits of America. the US is still the gold standard. you know this. just ask any of the millions of Filipinas who would love to have access to a good paying job here in the states. access to affordable healthcare, social security, medicare, clean water, good housing, etc. the list goes on and on. that is why people everywhere want to come to the US. i appreciate my life in the US every minute of every day of my life. nothing else compares. that is ultimately the best thing i can give my Filipina or anybody for that matter
thanks for sharing Glenn
Very good topic Mike, Thanks !
you're welcome Ben
Another fine job mike! You seen the knock it out of the park about 95% of the time. Have a nice evening and week sir all 3!
Thanks, you too!
I agree with you Mike. I believe it is our responsibility to leave our family well off. We can't leave them poor again.
Mike it Depends on the relationship! What did she give me in life??!!
If the Filipina was young, fresh, without children and I was her first option in life…meaning she was virgin or didn’t have children and full value to a Pinoy but chose me over any man including a pinoy… than thats true love and I would leave her financially set for life after I’m gone
But many Filipinas true heart belong to a Pinoy…they are willing and do give a Pinoy everything ie virginity…Filipinas are taught the greatest gift you can give a man is your virginity
also they give the Pinoy many children, and marriage…they give their pure heart to a pinoy.
and if it doesn’t work out with a pinoy they go to plan B…looking for a foreign man to financially support her and her children that were left over from her filipino relationship….
Guys that get into relationships with women like this should leave them very little.Because you met her as a single mom….obviously you wasn’t her true love and first option…so I leave her very little…same as she gave me…very little…..leftovers from her true love relationship with a pinoy
if she is a virgin or not...Hmmm
@@mikesphilippineretirement
Fresh girl (women without a baby) vs single mom is very different.
Great content. I like your down to earth attitude. Also great advice.
thank you so much
It was nice to hear an American male speak about caring for their companion and recognizing responsibility, justice and just fair play.
Make it clear, that way you don't have any problems when you come back to the country, you dont want to be worried and looking over your shoulders all the time.
just be honest
It’s one of those “ it depends” type situation. Short term 6 months -1 year and you decide that you’d rather be back in the USA then maybe just a lump sum. Long term such as marriage where you intended to be with her rest of your life then some land maybe a house if you have the fund for that. Maybe Some kind of income to help her after your gone.
all good points
Hello Mike, I have been watching a few of your videos. I can appreciate your advice and I agree with you. I live near Manila for almost 6 years and have been married for 12+ years to my wonderful filipina wife!!! Take Care and God Bless.
You dip once and go. If you for seconds is when you are hooked. Do not linger unless you want to support her and family for a long time.
Buy land build what she will be proud to own. You are in good shape you will make 84. She will own a house you can buy an existing house build equity. Not paying rent will not cover mortgage, however if you have 84 in you ,the equity built will exceed other options. You are a very good man.
YOU CAN NOT GET A LOAN IF YOUR 70
A very good and very smart man.
The idea of having a child is not my idea of a good way to take care of my Filipina because it eliminates my ability to have the retirement I worked so hard to get and it also ties her and therefore me down. Maybe an annuity that kicks in on your passing would be a better way to go. Then she gets a monthly amount rather than a lump sum that she would blow.
thanks for sharing
Most fell into the “cad” category.
you're welcome
Amen to that Phil.
You're right, Filipinas do Not want to have that conversation, but it is very important. 😊
yes they just look away

well said
I was 48 back in 2010 when i went to the Philippines to meet my chatmate, she was 42, the last daughter out of four at home and was taking care of her mother and father.

Happy weekend Mike. Awesome video. You’re a good man and you are 100% on point on what a decent person should be doing for their woman, long-term girlfriend, or wife.
I have two letters for all the haters F/U 🐸🙌
I appreciate that
Mike, you're giving the best advice any man or Philippino/Asian woman can hear.
Thanks Mike,...you're a good man❤.
thank you
You're welcome!!
A testament that places all your values into the trustfund bank account after your estate has been settled, and the proceedings being paid monthly to your wife?
couple of good points you made
Never in the philippines:
1 buy land
2 start a business
3 loan money out
A trust through a law firm?
Very nice!
Good content once again Mike.
thanks Dickeyspaz
In America you take care of yourself first ..in Philippines you take care of family first ..major difference between cultures
really no family values in America any more
Up to you folks, but perhaps not something to mess with.
thanks for the info
Mike, I'm so glad to hear that Janet doesn't like it if you sweep or wash dishes. I'll be sure not to make that same mistake with Jing!
If you have paid 4 Quarters to social security then the money you get is your money back , nobody else's.....SPOT ON MIKE.
thank you William
Always love your informative videos my friend
Hey Ted Thank you I appreciate that!
If you're going to view it as a pay for services rendered then it follows when those services are no longer rendered your obligation to pay has ended regardless of who ended the relationship. If you're a nice guy, and can afford it, a parting gift might be appropriate. This is for dating only. Marriage is a whole different game.
I agree with That
I agree that being a housewife is not a dirty word and there’s nothing wrong with being a housewife.
Both require 1 year of marriage.
thank for sharing
Actually, just looked it up adopted children of a US citizen become US citizens as soon as they enter US. So something to check on since Janet has a son you could adopt him and he should be eligible for a portion of your Social Security. At least thats what it seems to say on the webpage I just looked at. I don't have that problem my wife and daughter live her in the US for the last 12 years.
good info will check it out
Well you do the best you can under your circumstances, thats the rule. I'm just lucky I was in a position to do things perfectly.
Love that!
Pay? Pay who? She will never be without 🥰
Thanks for sharing James
Mike, not sure you will make another 5 years bless your heart. Cut carbs, eat fatty red meat and lift weights.
lets hope you make another year
You are right the son needs to stay focus and take life serious and not playing video games
so true
Video games are OK, as long as they're not all-consuming of one's time. There's much worse things for kids, than video games ... such as drugs

I don't want long term life saving measures draining savings.
bag full of money???
It all depends on the position financially the man is but I also believe on leaving my significant other to be better off then when I met her. In my case a wealthy lady and two condos.
Great job
Yes! Land in the phils is around $400,000 per acre. Take into account there is over 4000 square meters in an acre.
if not higher
Hey Mike, thanks for this video. I’m moving to Bacolod in June and I’ll be meeting my LDR (she is 49) for the first time. I’m 71 in great health and very active but my main concern is how to take care of my new family after I’m gone. Realizing that I’m changing their life, I’m trying to figure out how to make sure they don’t have to go back to their old life. I would like to leave them their new home because it’s the least I can do after uprooting them from their familiar surroundings and that is my plan. Thanks Mike!
you're welcome Ron
Easy. Marry her and bring her, her parents and her children to the usa. She will be able to get a job, become self sufficient, and remarry.
Making provisions for them is a good idea, but finding the right way to do it is tough!
thanks for sharing Homebasebelgium

Good advice and I agree with you 100%. I also can't stand a couple of these vloggers saying it's a transactional relationship, it's this or its that. Dont come here to get married, if you come here and don't travel around then there's something wrong with you. Well maybe I don't want to travel all over the place. Maybe i just want to settle down , relax, and chill out. I bought my wife a lot in a gated community worth a lot. Lawyers and doctors live in this community. If anything should happen to me or to us, she's set. But I also left myself enough money to get back to the US if need be. Take care.
sounds like your taking good care of her and enjoy your retirement James
Thanks, man. Enjoy your channel and your opinions on things. Best wishes for you and your wife.
All I can say is if she can’t stop her
boyfriend’s threatening her husband then she should not be talking to any guy in the first place .
you need to spend more time looking for the right girl now the girl for right now
Life time I agree Mike with you
wow
This from outsider who hopes to be there in a year. I can’t have kids I was fixated many years ago and I’m good with that. But I have thought about it been no problem with me if I find someone that has one or two kids and if it works out marrying them. After a year or two adopting the kids if this possible. They don’t get no social security money but I think they get USA visa . Put a small trust so that child can finish school and work overseas when of age and the child can take her mother with her in time . I hope to see the child succeed in life and be there watching her succeed in person
not sure about the US Visa but sounds like a good plan
I'm 100% agreed on the traditional life. There is nothing wrong with it.
Once I move over there, I won't let her work. I'll tell her if she wants to work, she can be single.
The west has been corrupted by feminism combined with high cost of living. It's not really the best place anymore.

You’re right that’s how our family grew up. I prefer like that.
so do I
Very good topic....
thank you
I have thought about this, even though I have not moved there yet and don't have a girlfriend. My thoughts are having my nephew in charge of a small trust fund where he will send her an allowance every month that way, she will be unable to give away the money, but instead she will be able to live off it.
good plan
I have to agree with you on this subject they'd be dogging us in the USA for this subject make it worth their time if you been married in the USA and divorced and see what that cost you
divorce is very costly
Interesting topic. If she inherits money from you that’s the same as winning lottery. And most lottery winners eventually go broke because of the lack of knowledge knowing how to handle large amount of money. So yeah, a Filipina will eventually go broke most likely regardless of how much money she inherits that’s the sad reality.
sure is a sad part of life
Depends on who she is. I would leave mine everything cause I want the best for her and her family. Only in the Philippines
how are you guys doing. Thanks for watching and making a comment
The wife and kid will get our condos and properties and her family house she built years ago working abroad before meeting me.
good job taking care of her future
Leaving mine with a green Card, Really needed to brainstorm passive for her to pay the bills, I think we have it, As far as Cooking and cleaning lol, We are 50/50 split, Last person-up makes the bed, I do most laundry with Samsung front load, All funding is me, Mmmmm She does plant sales but not enough, So we come up with passive,
Costed about 2.2 Not bad to pay the bills, as I’m gone,
Break ups always 50/50, We deal, Philippines hers, USA my children, 🙂
You so on Family will suck them Dry, Then Gone, Passive is best, You need to trip up to see us Mike, Leyte,

Look at what do do with Janet
Help and guide her in the set up of her TH-cam Channel.

She'll survive me with all assets plus my insurance...

hahaha she is the boss in the house for sure

By the way I’m not moving back to the U S for my wife besides she doesn’t want to either. She’s visited seven or eight times already. We spent six months RVing one year in the US.
that sounds like it was fun
Getting a Philipina to enter our world is like going to the pound or pet store. Let the "puppy" pick you. Then you have to train the "puppy".
Filipinos don't have the Western long-term world view. We have to teach them financial planning and money management. Very few of them have ever had any amount of money to manage.
So true I have to teach Janet so much even using a credit card or Debit card is new to many
Its funny how they start to think of the future, when they actually think they have one, for once.
If you were to leave the Philippino girl one million dollars, her people would end up getting it... And quick..
one million peso...
I thank so. maybe spread it out in different banks. but maybe just buy land and let that be the investment for her future
I like the idea of leaving her with a child if she genuinely wants a CHILD from you, not just a child from anyone
