Hey Trackers! I just had surgery today and was terrified about going under, but kept thinking about how Tim just did it twice in a relatively short period of time and just wanted you to know that I got through it because I watched these videos. So thank you for sharing your surgical experiences!!

I sent Jenn a message before and after your surgery. As a nurse, watching this video now, it was hilarious to talk about bodily functions in such a way to not be too descriptive and yet be family friendly. Well done, sir. You have now had a full week of recovery, so hope you are very well on your way back to feeling great.

Happy birthday, Tim! 🥳 I hope you’re having a fabulous day celebrating and feeling better enough to enjoy it. I had second-hand PTSD watching you drink the Magnesium Sulfate after seeing how much my parents LOATHED it every time they’ve had to drink it. But I’m glad the surgery went well, and all you can do is rest up and recover from here. I also never knew what pizza eggs were after watching you guys for the last few months, and I now decided that I need to make some for myself this weekend.

I’ve been plagued with stomach problems since I was 4 years old (it runs in my family), so I’ve had to do all the bowel prep stuff a bunch of times for colonoscopies and endoscopes throughout my life. Last time I did it was a few months ago in September, I barely ate and still hit the bathroom 17 times in 6 hours 😂. I have a Hiatal Hernia, IBS, GERD, etc. I hope your recovery is fast! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Tim! We're bday month twins!! Glad to see you're having a speedy recovery. The breathing tube likely went down your throat, and usually they put oxygen in your nose. As a nurse, I was skeptical at the beginning of the video. I was thinking there’s no way that you’ll be in and out as fast as you think because recovery time is different for everyone and surgeries rarely ever begin on time. I was also thinking “poor Tim, he thinks he’s gonna eat right after.” I saw Tim driving to the surgery and was worried about who would drive him home after (since Jen doesn’t drive). Also, the only way to get rid of the “trapped gas” is to walk so your body can reabsorb it. This Vlog has me at the edge of my seat! I’m already commenting and I’m only 22 minutes in. I’m glad the surgery went well. Take care and don’t overdo it. Let your body heal 🙂

Happy birthday Tim. I'm loving the glasses. Make sure you rest and follow Dr. orders. I had my gall bladder out 3 months after having a c- section. The gas feeling was the worst when it works it's way to your shoulders. Thanks for all your videos.

    • @nancyk4595
      @nancyk4595 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Nice to know someone else went through the misery of having gallbladder surgery after a c-section. Mine was years ago and major surgery. I had to wait 5 months so I was recovered from my second c-section before having surgery again. My gallbladder removal was a lot worse than my c-sections. It took me longer to recover from gallbladder removal than from either c-sections.

I'm sorry to hear that. Mine was an emergency so I couldn't wait. What was supposed to be out patient turned into a 5 day stay. I wound up hemorrhaging and they thought they were going to need to reoperate. I needed 2 blood transfusions because I was very anemic. Definitely wasn't a picnic to try and heal from both surgeries and take care of 3vmonth old twins.

Also, the breathing tube goes in your mouth and unfortunately your throat will be sore for a few days. Sometimes they put either an oral or nasal airway in (just a small tube a few inches long) after they extubate you if you’re still a bit sleepy. That could be why your nose is sore! Hope that helps 😊

Tim, congratulations on a successful surgery. It appears from the laparoscopic incision you showed it was inguinal hernia repair. The general anesthesia is the toughest part of the hospital experience. The hard part is not to strain or tear the repair until it heals. Keep hydrated and when you can, walk. Be leery of sneezes and coughing, rule of thumb cover with your hand the area of the repair if a sneeze is coming. Wishing you a expeditious recovery and just take your time for now.

For as much as medicine DOESN'T know, what they CAN do with what they DO know is amazing. And while you may not feel great now, compare the duration of your discomfort with all your days of comfort and fun. You can do this. Feel better soon, Tim. Ooo! It’s the 1st: HAPPY BIRFDAY!!!

Still only 8 minutes in but my first thought is LIKE THE GLASSES TIM!!! You should rock them more often. Then I was thinking wow he is just being dropped off for a double hernia surgery???? And it was only going to take an hour and then a little while for recovery? I would have stayed at the hospital to wait in case something went wrong… And then I was amazed that he was so awake and able to sit in a car right after and then wait in the parking lot while prescriptions were filled. Tim is a super hero in a major way! LOL… And I was thinking clear liquids the first day.. That part wasnt fun after surgery…

My daughter got so mad when she would tell me about her dreams and she couldn't understand why I didn't know what happened. It was so hard to explain I wasn't actually there even if she dreamed I was. Toddler dreams are fun.
Tim, Heal fast and happy Birthday!

Tim, Happy Birthday! I was supposed to be born on March 1st...I decided to keep baking until the 23rd. This year is the last of my 40's while you are just starting it. 40 is the new 30, you've got this! Happiest of Days to you!

Prayers for great healing. My husband had triple hernia surgery and about 3 weeks later we went to WDW and he rode Space Mountain for our sons first ever roller coaster ride. Painful but he did it.

Happy birthday Tim! The stories I could tell you about my history with surgery and anesthesia would take a lifetime but it’s definitely no joke. I always hate them putting the mask to speed up the anesthesia. Glad to see that you didn’t appear to have any real major side effects. Looking forward to the next few vlogs from home. Remarkable editing by Jenn once again. It still boggles my mind how many hours you spent doing the starcruiser event video edits. I’m not sure I would have had the patience for it lol. Well I better get my butt back to sleep lol. See you three in the morning for more adventures!!

Hooooome Vlooooog! Glad it went as well as it did, I've had a number of surgeries back in the day when they really cut you. I hate getting put under. Looks like Jackson was taking it pretty well.

Hi! I'm in nurse anesthesia school. Breathing tubes are standard for hernia repairs and more than likely they put the breathing tube in through your mouth. Your nose might feel weird just because oxygen will dry out your mucous membranes. They strap your arms down just to make sure your arms don't fall down off the narrow bed and cause a nerve injury. Anesthesia like propofol (sedation) and narcotics are likely to cause constipation. Hope you are recovering well!

I know just how ya feel post-surgery ... I just had an umbilical hernia surgery with mesh done on 4/12/22. The incision area is super sore, scratchy throat, and all that from the tube as well for me. took me about an hour as well for the procedure. The upside for me was I didn't have to drink that stuff the day before, I just was not allowed to eat or drink anything after midnight the day before.

Jen and Tim my husband Steve is a uk medic. He’s concerned that driving too soon - using the brake pedal etc will put unnecessary pressure on the inguinal hernia surgery sites. Leave it at least one week.
Also on the video you sit and help Jackson with a meal at the table and rotate your body when sitting - this is a problem too - try and sit neutrally /straight forward and avoid rotating your upper body when you sit.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, we are back over in 18 days! Excited! Steph and Steve
