In addition to the workmanship, what really blows me away about this vid is the sense of pride the dad has in his son. It's so positive. While the credit goes to the son for putting this difficult piece together, the old man gets my vote on giving his son 100% credit for the build, and for the years of teaching, sharing and making time for his son that came before - obviously none of that is captured in the vid, but you know it had to be there to be able to pull this off. Respect to all.

Agreed. A lot of the time, father's are more critical of their kids than they are of praising. I realize that critical scrutinization of your kid's work can be constructive if done right, but it can also be turning off and deflating at the same time.
I know that my father was very critical of my works growing up, but I have gone on to become one who tries to do perfect work and take pride in the finished product. Dad's criticism in my youth never ruined me as an adult and I wish he was still around so that I could thank him for his efforts in making me the success that I am today. Full props to this father for his son's hard work and perseverance in this tedious project.

The piece really draws the eye into another otherworldly memory, and then when the eye looks for an explanation it finds precision, Thank You.

Lots of patience and teeny tiny little cuts! He worked a lot of hours on that but it came out great! There are other cool patterns out there not as complex, but pretty cool.. You should give it a try!

I have the same harbor freight clamps. They can be terribly frustrating at times, but with small glue ups, my Jorgensen clamps are my main go to clamps

Thanks Trista! You're right, not super difficult just lots of extra time to make sure Matt was cutting the angles right and laying out the pattern correctly. I hope to get one of my daughters down to the shop for a project as well. I hope you give one of our projects a try!
