@ exactly this 😂 that’s why I’m up to 5 printers and doing 5 projects at the same time. Keeps me from burning out on 1 project when working on it for weeks. And my impatience isn’t a problem.
Great video, would love to see how you extruded the neck on this model in more detail, to make the custom base, I have slowed it down but cant follow the steps ( Also just Subscribed !!! )
Hi buddy, thanks for the great feedback... and the sub!! 🦊 For the neck section Iused from the base: I alt+clicked the outer edge in Edit Mode (set to edge select), Shift D to Duplicate. This gave me just the empty loop of the neck. I then pressed F to fill the hole inside the loop, then E to extrude. Then with the new object selected, press P and seprate by Selection - this makes it its own object, not part of the head. Hope that helps, but if you need anything else, just shout!
a tip about saving printing time by hollowing out the object. it might not actually be saving you time. when you hollow the object you are now printing 2 sets of walls rather then just 1 and the walls are generally one of the slowest parts of printing. I find that I often get much better printing times by keeping a model solid and optimizing my infill, you really need far less infill then the defaults are set too if your not printing for strength but just a cosmetic part. I generally do 5-8% rectilinear infill and will often use infill blockers to get rid of infill in the lower sections of models that dont need it. You can also try lightning infill, for some models it can save a huge amount of time. Cool video and cant wait to see the painting.
Ah I get you! You see, this is a big reason I made this channel - to get help and advice on my shortcomings, as much as sharing what I've managed to make. Really appreciate your time in writing the tip - I was thinking of printing a smaller "test" head for the painting part, so i might do a full sized one using the above and compare. Again thank you for the advice!
Hey! Cheers for the kind feedback. I've got 2 choices for the eye: do it properly, or try it my way. Do it properly would mean doing my first LED addition. I know it's not too difficult, I just don't have the kit. And properly pring the lens in semi transparent red plastic of some sort. The other is to canibalize some Xmas decorations I've kept back, and see if I can "trim" the LED on it, and find some red plastic I can shape for the lens. Might see how the painting goes to determine the level of effort needed for the eye 🤣
@@Dstinct it was very cringe wasn't it 🤣 I think a part of me died a little when I recorded it...but had to be done. Thanks for the kind feedback on the vid!
Sorry for the terrible (yet also brilliant) pun at the start! What's your favourite pun you know?
Such a good vid, can’t wait for the painted version!!
Cheers Charlie! I hope i don't ef this one up!
Brilliant! Can't wait to see the finished version!!
Thanks Ryan, might take me a week or so, but stay tuned!
Amazing work !!!
And right back at you, and thank you! Massive fan of your work! There'll be a fair few more prints from you guys in the future!!
Can't wait to see it painted. Love your channel, you're doing a great job. " I'll be Krak " hilarious..😂
Haha glad you liked that joke! Was gonna do an awful Arnie impression, but thought funnier in my accent 🤣
I just watched the alien video and subbed. Few moments later this pops up. This man is on a mission! Let’s go
Haha thanks man! Just wanna keep some consistency - although I wish I'd picked a quicker hobby than 3d printing and painting! 🤣

Subbed ❤
That's awesome thank you, General!!
"Hey babe, put the cookie down, new Krak Fox video just dropped"
Also, personally I'd do chrome last as placing anything sticky over the chrome to mask it off might affect the finish
Yeah makes good sense that. I might print a small versions of and use as a test before each step! 🤠
Any led work on his eye ? I will need to print it myself. Great video

Subscribed! Where you based in the UK man? I'm Doncaster/Wakefield way.
I'm Stoke way, dude :D

🔥👍🔥
Would it be ok if I were to get really selfish and ask for a painting tutorial on how you painted your alien?
You know, I'd actually love to print and paint another, taking onboard all i learnt the first time!
I liked the video so I could unlike it because that pun was bad, but then I reliked it because the vid was good.
