- I HAD to get this three-pice set. I knew the details on the top drawers would look amazing painted. BUT THEY WERE PLASTIC! And the tops were laminate. But no worries. They can be painted, too, for a very high end look.
And ... AND ... I built new bases for the first time. Woot woot! It only took two years to get the courage to do it.

It's all about the base. The pieces look great!
Thank you, Meghan Trainor. 😂
Honestly, you explained building the base as well as any expert. I have watched numerous videos and using the paper to explain how to measure was the bomb. I am a visual person and that sealed the deal for me. I am now feeling confident that I can build a base And I will be saving this video to follow when I do. I absolutely love what you did to this set.
You just made my morning. 😊 And yes, I’m a visual - and hands on - learner too. I had been intimidated by how to use the Kreg jig. How would I know when to stop drilling, etc. But even the Mini Kreg jig had easy instructions to follow in that regard.
They look great, the new bases make such a difference .
Thank you!!!
Stunning! DDecker
Wonderful job. They look amazing.
@@becbell74 thank you!
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE BASES!!!! OMG it's so beautiful!
@@49rsfam64 thank you!!!!
@@tableflippinghousewife You're so very welcome.
Awesome transformation! The new bases really modernised them! 😍👏🤩
Thank you! 😄
Beautiful! I’m currently working on a similar project and will be building this same base for the dresser for the first time also. Crossing my fingers that it turns out as beautifully as yours did!
You can do it! For two years I kept telling myself,” It’s just wood.” But it IS intimidating the first time, right? Drilling the pocket holes is fun! I’m such a dork!
@@tableflippinghousewife Well, cutting my pieces and drill pocket holes today. I’m going to rewatch your video and the DIY wife video. 😮🤞
@@pfles1please circle back and let me know how it goes.
How did the cutting and drilling go?
@@tableflippinghousewife Meh... I spilt one leg (guess I tightened screws too much). It was hard getting everything square by myself, and had the same issues you did with boards pulling apart. (Clamps to the rescue!) Overall, it looks ok. Here's hoping this sells! Thanks for your encouragement!😃
Hi from NZ so glad I came across your video!! As mentioned by others above your video explains things well without the fast forward bit & the visuals really help. I had one question though, I am unable to cut angles on my mitre saw if the legs are greater then 5 inches, do you know why ? Thanks 😊
Thank you! I'm so glad you found me. 🙂 Please explain a little more about the challenge you're having with your mitre saw. What are the limitations you're having?
So when I try to make an angle cut for my legs, I cannot unless the piece is only 5 inches in length, otherwise the cut doesn’t go right through. Unfortunately I cannot attach a photo here.
@@13Delna I sent your response to a friend to see if he understood what you were describing. I didn't run into that challenge. He said he added a piece of wood to act like a shim so that the leg wood rested further out a little, getting the full length of the blade.. I have a picture to show you and will try to figure out how to attach it here.

Does this help solve your issue?
Thanku for taking the time to help, if I could post you a photo so you would understand? Thanx
