Seen him one time at Billy Bobs, said we were not worthy of his songs and proceeded to sing eagles covers for half an hour while people threw beer bottles at him before he broke into his own set. TRUE LEGEND
Mickey I'm really enjoying your book! I'm not done yet but I love the stories! Any fan of DAC should get it and hell, anyone that wants to be a musician should get it and learn about life on the road!!! -Bill B
Nobody but Coe has the balls to dress like he's dressed in this performance! I was fortunate enough to meet him twice, once in Rolla, Missouri, and once in Burgettstown,Pa. I'll miss him.
Absolutely from his prime time, with voice in good behold, and not so starsruck. And before rugs and "nicer underwear" How is it possible for a sc. macho-man to go on stage in such "underwear" ?? :-)
I had the chance to be at Gilleys saw DAC WHAT A SHOW. we sat at a table drinking beers. And he's no pussycat he's a real hell raiser. But you could not ask for a nicer person. What a wonderful singer songwriter. DAC IS .MY IDOL.....
As DAC says. If you don't like DAC "you can kiss my ass'. I'm the biggest DAC fan in England. I really wish I'd seen him when he used to come over here in the '80s.
Some folks may be offended by his clothes and language but you got to admit his voice and song writing abilities far overshadow those types of things you can love the music but you don't necessary have to like the singer ✌️
I saw him at a small dive right outside of Ft. Sill, OK during the winter of 1998. I went with a bunch of other Marine second lieutenant artillery officers. Had a blast
I'm a fat and sassy old lady. Every damn time I watch DOC sing this song I cry, laugh, get angry, question that Ramblin man from my past. Yes today he calls. I answer, listen then weep once the call ends. DAMMIT!!!!

Yeah maybe it wasnt a good choice to post that song, I mean no offense to anyone by doing so, but this is how he sang it and he said there was no offense intended from him when he did. Its such a great song (well, they all are....) I wanted to share these great versions....BB
@@Billvis77 Well it’s not said in a demeaning way and a song is art like a movie sometimes you have to use the vocabulary of the time to really paint a picture in your mind of growing up in the 50s and try and take you there and DAC’s music is as authentic as it gets
@@Billvis77 I think it says a lot that he knew it was a song people liked to hear and wrote “part 2” which is the version you usually (maybe even always?) see live nowadays. Arguably better than the original, and omits that word
Hi, you are very welcome! I will load more when I can, this performance is just amazing my wife and I watch it and listen to it often....and no, sorry, no Hank Jr. Seems I just have tapes from the 3rd and 4th of July concerts. I don't think he played. -Bill B

axl rose
Rolla MO, there’s a town I haven’t heard of in years! I went to Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood in 1986. I saw him in Seattle about 10 years ago.
DAC in his prime... A pity there wasn't an official live recording released from that era.
Truly. The guy was just so great at this time. Such a character!

Live at Billy bobs is a nice recording.my son turned me on to it and Dave.i then found my “ inner rebel self”😃at mid my 50s!
Long live DAC! 82 and still kicking. Them shorts are fugging hilarious
Bro, the tattoo is the best part-that is badass.
So hot.
What a gem. His voice has a quality I can’t pinpoint. Then his style just is cool.

Dude.,. Warren haynes?! Holy shit!!
And Wendel Adkins!!!!!
So talented...id go see him again and again❤
Pure words from a brilliant songwriter and even better singer
I believe that Dave Loggins wrote the song
@@jong0000 hey, did he write them all? Did I specify a song? You just felt the need to correct me right? Hope you feel better now, I do.
DAC is my favorite and this performance is absolutely awesome. Thanks so much for posting.

I feel like his nonsense is mild by today’s standards, greatest country writer of all time
David Allan Coe rocking the 80's nut-huggers.
And a young Warren Haynes!

His sense of wardrobe is original lol
Seen him in concert once and i had a helluva good time....i think, haha

Warren Haynes ladies and gentlemen
This is absolutely fucking gold.
It was the find of a lifetime! We love DAC after discovering this tape among to collection. I hope sharing it helps to make new fans.

Can't have too much Phaser or hot pants.
Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes ???? Miss you Daddy 😘
You got some good stuff, any Hank Jr by some chance, I know he was at Gilley's a lot back in the day
No, sorry no Hank jr.
Yes sir
If I only had an outfit like that!
Hell yeah!
Who is the back up singer
bad to the bone
How come your Gary Stewart video got taken down?
I didn't have any Gary Stewart.....
You can’t deny the man wrote some great songs and recorded some also…now his sense of fashion is a whole other story 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Someone once told me "Please Come To Boston" was about Elvis and I'm curious if anyone knows if that is true.
Dave Loggins wrote the song cousin to kenny Loggins. Not sure if it's about Elvis though.
It was hot there they probably said dam all this sweating lol
Am I seriously the only person that noticed a young Warren Haynes in the nut hugger shorts😂
One crazy MF. Met him a few times in Atlanta , one great song writer and a great voice.
What brand is that guitar.
Ovation I think
Thank you very much for the incredible DAC footage. Do you have any Hank Williams JR footage from Gilleys? Thanks

the time stamp is killing me. if youre playing along with him..
Love DAC-but not in his underwear(...)...T😊
I saw
Only singer I’ve ever known that was once on death row.
Wtf them shorts
So weird to see Warren Haynes here, a hot country band lead guitar picker and barely adequate backing singer for DAC.
4 thewin
Kevin Shields thinks he’s using a little too much phaser
love dac but those davey dukes gotta go
OFFO
It's a shame what he did to his career he has a great voice
His biggest mistake was joining the Outlaws MC, considering the influence of the Red and White in the entertainment industry...
