I used to be bouncer at Cowboys in Atlanta and had the pleasure to meet him a couple of times. Such a great guy.
DAC in his prime... A pity there wasn't an official live recording released from that era.

I had the chance to be at Gilleys saw DAC WHAT A SHOW. we sat at a table drinking beers. And he's no pussycat he's a real hell raiser. But you could not ask for a nicer person. What a wonderful singer songwriter. DAC IS .MY IDOL.....

@@Billvis77 Well it’s not said in a demeaning way and a song is art like a movie sometimes you have to use the vocabulary of the time to really paint a picture in your mind of growing up in the 50s and try and take you there and DAC’s music is as authentic as it gets
@@Billvis77 I think it says a lot that he knew it was a song people liked to hear and wrote “part 2” which is the version you usually (maybe even always?) see live nowadays. Arguably better than the original, and omits that word
