Me and Dave Coe were the original DimeBags... it’s a damn shame that that road is just so damn hazardous that you only have one or two of those thousands of buddies that you’ve met along the way near the end zone... as a country and a culture of people we have definitely handled the whole thing wrong by just turning our backs as a government and that pushed everything to the underground and that has cost a lot of people their lives... rich and poor and young and old and men and women... there’s a beast down inside some of us that requires the most unholy substance’s and a very dark fight to finally get tired enough to make peace with ourselves and finally some of us can surrender... and live.... playing with fire and getting burned becomes a wonderful and friendly pain for some of us who haven’t yet healed our souls... at 51 I can tell ya I’m very very glad and grateful that I jumped off that long black train...
The more I research this guy the more I love him. I'm born and raised in Alabama and have known about David all my life but never really took interest in his music and life. I'm hooked. This man has always been true to himself and I can't help but love and respect that. He's nothing like I expected him to be.
His '70s albums for Columbia Records are the finest country music albums ever made. But he's a compulsive liar, lol, I mean that lovingly. His biggest fans know not to believe these crazy stories too much.
I worked hard & bought my Harley from my Friend Aaron in Macon, Georgia. Made some great memories & still got ‘er. It’s been worth every bit of the Blood, Sweat & Tears!
I saw DAC play in Sparks, OK at a biker rally right around the time of this interview. Most folks including myself didn’t know he was there. He came out super late in the night and his set was amazing! Bon fire 🔥 afterwards went literally all night long with people pulling guitars jamming. What a memory! Thank you for posting this interview! Amazing!
i get it man. At 43 i just now got my 1st Harley. Ive loved them my entire life and always wanted one. My softtail was built in York Pa and im proud of that. Im from the area as well.
I'm 43 as well. I always related DAC to singles that are x-rated or of course "the Perfect Country Western Song". I never took him seriously as Merle, Waylon, Willie, Hank Jr, etc. What I had considered "Outlaw Country". I stumbled upon "The Long Haired Redneck Rides Again" and album and WOW! Soon as I got to "Revenge" it was game on! I then download all of his albums and this man is not only a legendary song writer, Poet if you will, he is an incredibly talented artist who has touched my soul in so many ways. I am redneck born in the wild west (CO) and grew up from the age of 4 below the Mason Dixon line (NC). So I agree with your first sentence.... I get it man!
When he talked about Harley-Davidson man. I didnt grow up riding anything, not even a moped. It was a lifestyle I was born but chosen. I got myself a Harley and learned to ride and learn what the life was really about. The brotherhood was eveything I dreamed about and I fully embraced the lifestyle. I never looked back since
Not to sound like the typical complaining citizen at the moment. Thanks for acknowledging my comment. Not much good has been around latly. Made my day....thanks!
Great video! I remember, even as a kid in the seventies, when someone had a Harley it was unique. Now it seems like everyone and their brother has one. My brother’s a Harley rider and he says s lot of the people he tries to ride with won’t ride any farther than from bar to bar just so they can show everyone they’ve got a Harley. He likes to go on long rides. (That was just to touch on the subject they did in the interview about people pulling their bikes in trailers to an event.)
A great singer!! A great writer!! A GREAT MAN!! You are loved and respected by many, David! May God bless you always! Thank you for the music that has brought me so much joy.
I'd love to grade this footage for you , great stuff.. color is off but maybe thats what you were going after?.. I'd love to grade this footage for you an attempt to make it great. Im a professional video editor. This is the stuff that really matters. this is real reality TV
You don't got to be tough to ride a Harley...you better be tough when you crash that shit! Same thing with tattoos so many people got them today that's what kept me from getting any. I'm warm as a glass of brandy!
@@sunnyhoschke4375 I saw David Allan Cole at the Brady Theatre. His bass player didn't make it and they sounded like shit. But DAC was sporting that fluffy rainbow scarf. 'Pretty sure he's gay as a three-dollar bill. In fact, he's probably on top of a Bill right now.
Those songs that you think are so funny Are the songs that lost him the respect He deserved in the real country music world. I am convinced had he not done those songs He would have been more successful in the main stream country music world. The man was an extremely talented musician and songwriter. One of the greatest ever exis, Yet he hangs out and plays in a small bar in florida. This man had a TV show has been in. Several movies has written multiple hits for other people and several for himself and he is. A virtual unknown. It's a crying shame. I wish he never did those songs
@@Barrelsmoke That's possible, but they were funny despite being really obscene. Perhaps he figured it was hypocritical NOT to sing such filthy songs, because the music industry itself is obscene "behind the scenes"? Look at all the obscenity in internet porn? All the rainbow stuff that's mainstream? He was ahead of his time in some ways.
@@Barrelsmoke DAC can sing any song and make it sound good; whether it be an original or a cover! What's with the judgment and jealousy? Luckily, he didn't sing for your praise!
@@sunnyhoschke4375 Actually, I have seen him several times during bike week in Florida. A friend of mine got his signature tattooed on his arm. Not quite sure why you would make the comment you made. I'm a huge David Allen co. Fan have been for years. My point wasn't anything against him. It was that I think those particular songs. Or a black mark on his career. That's all no need to become testy
My FAVORITE country western star ! I’ll crank up his music any day , any song !
DAC was 69 when he did this interview , he lived a tough life and he's still on the planet , show him some respect ! He is a legend !
I am glad that Dimebag and Vinnie Paul teamed up with David Allen Cole

90% do it for a season. 9% do it for the pat on the back. 1% live it daily.
@@therealcountrybumpkin Thanks for the reply.
I want to get DAC image painted on my gas tank. With his signature. That would be a dream
