Why? So if can be leveled by a hurricane?

I have lived in South Florida since 1992 and only experienced one hurricane. There is no area in the world where there are no risks for natural disasters!!!! Tornadoes. Nor'easters, Blizzard, Ice Storms, Earthquakes, Wild Fires, etc. The chances of getting a hurricane is so slim! It's just that when one comes, the press is all over it! Way more than most other natural disasters.
