Photographing Trains in Sri Lanka

- Sri Lanka might have some of the best train journeys in the world. So, on today's vlog we went out and photographed those trains.

I'm absolutely loving the train journeys here in Sri Lanka. Not only are the trains fun ride, but they're a lot of fun to photograph as well. Today, we caught the train from Kandy to Ella and did some photography along the way.
Then, once we arrived in Ella, we headed out to photograph the trains crossing the famous Nine Arch Bridge.

Not five minutes before watching the video I was just reflecting on the need for 'letting go'. To take those moments away from our sensory overload and allow our minds to observe our surroundings, to calm its synapses. This can be watching the scenery pass by from a train or boat or the waves crash on the shore. We need it so much more these days to take account of what we have and be appreciative of it.

Ok I NEED the details of how you did this train because I've been watching a few vlogs recently where the train is packed with people and your's didn't seem to bad from the few clips inside. What class did you go and what time?

Observation. But, we could kind of move freely elsewhere on the train too

Follower for some time, first comment. Great channel. Compared to the very gimbal heavy footage of recent episodes I actually preferred your hand held video. Maybe one can get a little gimbal-lazy? Video felt more grounded. Anyways. Inspiring stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Martin! Yeah, sometimes it adds a rawness to the footage, and the gimbal can be a crutch. I'm trying to be less reliant on it

I’m jealous. If I do ISO 400 on my camera it looks like crap. Super grainy.
When I started, my camera couldn't even do 200. Heck, at 100 it was noisey sometimes. Limitations make you become creative!

Hello I have a question to you about cameras. I am a beginner photographer and I am going to buy my first canon camera. I have looked on many canon cameras and I found the canon eos 250d. Should I buy it.
Oskar Westerlund every photographer will tell you that the best camera is the one you have with you. Buy a camera you can easily afford. Focus on learning how the camera works. Eventually, move to a full frame and get some good glass on it. All in due time.

Not at all. Meals are between $2-4, hostels are about $10 a night, hotels $35, and transport is cheap
