The Aus government won’t. Many people object to it for some strange reason. They have been trying to get it passed my whole life and fail every time. People take their car here, and have never caught a decent train in their life to know the advantage, unfortunately!

Instead of taking a grab car, you can actually take a feeder train to the whoosh station and it's free.

Actually you can depart with Whoosh train from Bandung city, no need to go to Tegal Luar station which is far from Bandung city center, if you depart from Bandung city station, you take the green feeder train to Padalarang station for only 15 minutes and no need to pay again, the feeder ticket price is included with Whoosh, then from Padalarang station you change to Whoosh to Halim Station Jakarta, FYI the fast train stations in Bandung are only at Tegal Luar station and Padalarang station and Halim station, for regular stations are in Bandung city center in different places because the rails for the fast train must be outside Bandung city center

I know the Aussie Govt and feasible studies say high speed rail in Oz is too expensive but let's face it, if it was affordable, people would travel more often given their reliability compared to wasting time at the airport and flights impacted by various factors. Would also help with housing affordability if you could live somewhere rural that doesn't take a day to get to a capital city for work. Great vid as always.

In my opinion, if you take the fast train, just buy business class because the price difference is quite high, business class is only 200k while first class is 600k, 3 times cheaper than first class and the comfort is almost the same, only the seats are different.

I'll say you safe 2hrs compared than driving, i already use whoosh train 4 times and I'll try to compare it, is 2 hrs faster than taking car, and 1 hrs faster than regional train (already include transfer train). Yes is from city centre to city centre, I'm not cheating it and yes the only down side is the transfer, so probably you need to actually try from city centre if you actually want to compared the time, you will not get the same result if you go from both ends station😅

This train won't make profit for 40 years at least according to statistic and plus they need to maintain operation cost. There's still local train goes 38 times per day which is enough not to use hsr unless you are in hurry. Also, they borrowed money to build so technically it's owned by china. Now is still an exciting phase with tons of propaganda so will see the truth in 1~2 years later. then we know what actually happened. Obviously, 1M passengers in 2 month is too low and debts will be built up for sure. For obvious calculation, whoosh making $300,000.00 debts every month.. They focus on speed in many ways instead of the practicality. They shouldn't have compromised to make train station in the cities.

Don’t mind them. Many simply hate the government and didn’t appreciate all these newly-built facilities

Curious why no one mentioned that this railway is accually built by China using chinese technology, it is almost identical to China's high speed train, bucause China won the bid of the project against Japan.
