This is why they worship physical strength: being the strongest person makes you physically dominant. No-one can overpower you. It's why they worship intelligence: being the smartest person makes you intellectually dominant. No-one can outwit you. However, they recognise that power can come from more than just physique and intelligence. People can manipulate your emotions, making you act irrationally. All that strength and intelligence you've cultivated will mean nothing if someone is able to provoke your emotions, and cause you to make a mistake. So these men also worship emotional suppression: being in control of your own thoughts makes you emotionally dominant. No-one can manipulate you. That's basically the Alpha/Sigma top-tier ideal. A man with a mind like a fortress, that no emotional threat can penetrate. For the Alpha, this is supposed to come from a state of absolute self-confidence. An ironclad ego, that cannot be touched by the mockery of lesser men. While for the Sigma, their strength comes from stoic detachment. By not caring about things, they ensure that no-one has any emotional leverage over them. This is supposedly why the Sigma doesn't care for society's rules or standards. Building your self-worth around social constructs is an inherently fraught position. Because other people have the power to alter those constructs, and determine how well you measure up to them. You are effectively giving other people power over you, which is a dangerous position. In the socio-sexual hierarchy, Alphas and Sigmas are often seen as equals, because they're both able to achieve Sex With Women - the ultimate goal. But I've also seen some taxonomies that place Sigmas above Alphas, because they're "stronger" by virtue of their stoicism. Here's the thing: in terms of pure power - that is, the capacity to resist other people's attempts to control you - stoic detachment really is the best option. At the end of the day, you can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to it. That's the ultimate power - the only real power any of us have. But the problem these men face is that they can't actually pursue such detachment properly. Because they're pursuing it out of fear. They want to be strong because they're terrified of being weak. That's why they loudly declare that they "don't care what anyone else thinks", instead of staying silent and letting their actions speak for them. They do care, a lot. Which. Is just a re-creation of the Not Like Other Girls phenomenon, but incel flavored.

Doctor K talks about mental health, the science of the brain and mental illnesses, and has very amazing and profound discussions with the audience and with people that he invites to his channel to talk about their experiences with anxiety, depression, etc. It's a very good channel and it has really taught me how to change my perspective on life for the better. This kind of channel is what these socially anxious men (or people in general ) need.

In my experience being a quiet girl/woman just makes people project so much onto you (both positive and negative). Also, not that I'm in any position to give life advice, I think that if you're trying to develop your identity these archetypes can only get you so far. Sure you can use them as a spring board, but honestly taking a uquiz is just as effective and possibly more fun. There's nothing wrong with being a combination of things or having a variety of traits. All the things that I am or that like come with asterisks. For example, I love Tv and Films, but that doesn't mean I'm interested in literally everything that exists. Horror isn't my favorite genre, but there are exceptions to that too.
The horoscope analogy is spot on. Not long ago a friend set me up on a date. At one point in the evening, she said to me "I get a sigma male vibe from you.", (one of many red flags), I think she was saying it as some sort of compliment, but she almost inadvertently fractured my jaw, with the traumatic cringe she inflicted with that archetypal BS. I unironically see myself in the sigma female traits. I have always been a sassy, introverted loner (even with friends) who “doesn’t care what people think” (lol). I am quite independent and tend to think for myself no matter what the environment. I don’t care to follow (or lead) crowds. I first thought of myself when I initially heard about sigma males, I was like “that kinda sounds like me” lol. But I think the reason this is not as popular amongst women is due to 1) as stated we already have astrology and I’m an astrologer so I use that language instead and 2) we don’t really care about this kind of labeling that places some kind of hierarchy on who is better based on this or that the way males tend to. I cringe at men who believe in this alpha/beta/sigma crap because I know their only objectives are to pretend they are better than others and if alpha (what most think they are 🙄) try to assert dominance over me. I feel there is another aspect to the 'I don't care what anyone else thinks' idealization: people who have been bullied or abused in their lives, and some neurodivergent people, can idealize a position of strength that 'doesn't feel' a conditioned anxiety that other people will subordinate and punish them if given an opportunity. Tara M is right about the 'I just tell it like it is' social sadist crowd crossing over with all this though: that attitude is very eager to exploit those who experience this kind of uncertainty.
I think it's an extension of the mindset that worships strength and power above all else. These men are terrified of being weak, because they believe that if anyone holds power over them, that person WILL abuse them. Which leads them to believe that they have to be dominant in all situations - it's the only way to protect themselves. This is why they worship physical strength: being the strongest person makes you physically dominant. No-one can overpower you. It's why they worship intelligence: being the smartest person makes you intellectually dominant. No-one can outwit you.
However, they recognise that power can come from more than just physique and intelligence. People can manipulate your emotions, making you act irrationally. All that strength and intelligence you've cultivated will mean nothing if someone is able to provoke your emotions, and cause you to make a mistake. So these men also worship emotional suppression: being in control of your own thoughts makes you emotionally dominant. No-one can manipulate you.
That's basically the Alpha/Sigma top-tier ideal. A man with a mind like a fortress, that no emotional threat can penetrate. For the Alpha, this is supposed to come from a state of absolute self-confidence. An ironclad ego, that cannot be touched by the mockery of lesser men. While for the Sigma, their strength comes from stoic detachment. By not caring about things, they ensure that no-one has any emotional leverage over them.
This is supposedly why the Sigma doesn't care for society's rules or standards. Building your self-worth around social constructs is an inherently fraught position. Because other people have the power to alter those constructs, and determine how well you measure up to them. You are effectively giving other people power over you, which is a dangerous position. In the socio-sexual hierarchy, Alphas and Sigmas are often seen as equals, because they're both able to achieve Sex With Women - the ultimate goal. But I've also seen some taxonomies that place Sigmas above Alphas, because they're "stronger" by virtue of their stoicism.
Here's the thing: in terms of pure power - that is, the capacity to resist other people's attempts to control you - stoic detachment really is the best option. At the end of the day, you can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to it. That's the ultimate power - the only real power any of us have. But the problem these men face is that they can't actually pursue such detachment properly. Because they're pursuing it out of fear. They want to be strong because they're terrified of being weak.
That's why they loudly declare that they "don't care what anyone else thinks", instead of staying silent and letting their actions speak for them. They do care, a lot. They care about convincing you that they're strong, so you won't abuse them. And they care about convincing you that they don't care what you think of them, so you won't manipulate them. Their actions betray their priorities.
They don't yet realise that a man who was truly detached wouldn't be afraid of weakness in the first place. Nor would he be concerned about being a virgin, or about having sex. He wouldn't care about the socio-sexual hierarchy at all, let alone where he fits into it. The true Sigma Males are all the men who quite rightly recognize that the hierarchy is fucking stupid, and ignore it. That's why they're able to achieve Sex With Women - they're not insecure sexists. These idiots are *so close* to the truth.

The actual hierarchy of this world is mostly 'wealth' and it's incredibly unlikely ordinary people will suddenly become wealthy enough, and keep that wealth/not simply be exploited by richer people, to climb that hierarchy for real. So the more 'traditional' insecure reaction to these forces, I guess is the 'get married/start household' thing, because if you must be subordinated by your boss working for a living you can at least be the patriarch of your household and dominate the order there. But without 'access' to that self-similar smaller hierarchy level, focus is shifted to 'why can't I get it in?' instead of 'why do I feel inferior in the first place?'
Leading to kind of a fox and the grapes situation, "I want it... but I hate feeling inferior for not being 'able' to get it, so I will pretend I am above wanting it in the first place! and that makes me better than other thirsty people!" as a way to try and wiggle out of feeling like the lowest rung on the ladder. Which. Is just a re-creation of the Not Like Other Girls phenomenon, but incel flavored.
The cow always has better things to do instead of fulfilling our desire to see her, that's such a sigma move... I guess.

For some reason, people like to think that smaller dogs don't need to be trained, or can be treated like toys; both sides can lead to an aggressive dog. It's like when people let big dog breeds growl as puppies because it's cute, and now they have a problem with a big dog who thinks they think they can growl and show teeth to get whatever they want. If your dog is still aggressive after training and good treatment, then that's a clear sign of anxiety or a health issue that needs to be checked out. But otherwise... Train. Your. Dogs!!

Doctor K talks about mental health, the science of the brain and mental illnesses, and has very amazing and profound discussions with the audience and with people that he invites to his channel to talk about their experiences with anxiety, depression, etc. It's a very good channel and it has really taught me how to change my perspective on life for the better. This kind of channel is what these socially anxious men (or people in general ) need.

In my experience being a quiet girl/woman just makes people project so much onto you (both positive and negative). Also, not that I'm in any position to give life advice, I think that if you're trying to develop your identity these archetypes can only get you so far. Sure you can use them as a spring board, but honestly taking a uquiz is just as effective and possibly more fun. There's nothing wrong with being a combination of things or having a variety of traits. All the things that I am or that like come with asterisks. For example, I love Tv and Films, but that doesn't mean I'm interested in literally everything that exists. Horror isn't my favorite genre, but there are exceptions to that too.
The horoscope analogy is spot on. Not long ago a friend set me up on a date. At one point in the evening, she said to me "I get a sigma male vibe from you.", (one of many red flags), I think she was saying it as some sort of compliment, but she almost inadvertently fractured my jaw, with the traumatic cringe she inflicted with that archetypal BS. Needless to say, it was the first and last date.

There's a TH-camr, Heidi Priebe, who makes really great videos that goes over attachment styles as well as many other topics meant to actually help you and help your relationships. So that's my own 2 cents for alternatives to the "hierarchical power personality types"

I jokingly call myself a sigma female but I think the whole thing falls apart because the whole thing is based on getting a partner and women don't really have to try to get men. I'm not that attractive and put "gone goblin mode" in my dating profile and still got 200 likes within a day. Actually had to private my profile because I had too many guys wanting to talk to me and it got overwhelming.
I guess the lesson learned is that, if you define yourself by your ability to pick up people, all women are alphas lol.

I unironically see myself in the sigma female traits. I have always been a sassy, introverted loner (even with friends) who “doesn’t care what people think” (lol). I am quite independent and tend to think for myself no matter what the environment. I don’t care to follow (or lead) crowds. I first thought of myself when I initially heard about sigma males, I was like “that kinda sounds like me” lol.
But I think the reason this is not as popular amongst women is due to 1) as stated we already have astrology and I’m an astrologer so I use that language instead and 2) we don’t really care about this kind of labeling that places some kind of hierarchy on who is better based on this or that the way males tend to. I cringe at men who believe in this alpha/beta/sigma crap because I know their only objectives are to pretend they are better than others and if alpha (what most think they are 🙄) try to assert dominance over me. I don’t allow anyone to dominate me (due to be raised by a narcissistic mother), I fight back for a while until I get bored and then leave them. People don’t usually get me and have been considered “weird” (for having interests outside of what people would expect of me as a black woman) no matter where I am so I don’t always get included in things but I don’t usually mind because I like being alone mostly or with my children.
