You see it all the time in the media, how many famous people will fly out someone to come across the country? Or to another country? You don’t ever see rich men complaining, especially older rich men, because they know they can’t just benefit from having a beautiful woman that’s pleasant to be around without contributing something. Broke men want beautiful and high class women and they want those women to lower their standards so those women can be attainable to them.

He didn't want gifts from me but everything else fit the gold digger trope. If he had said "I can't be with you because I need someone financially stable" it would be one thing. But he strung me along while waiting to find a girl with more money or just in case I do get successful. I would love it if my life turns into a gender swapped Dhar Mann video lol. But when the man suddenly gets really rich and is able to provide these things, he’s not seen as shallow for giving these same exact things to his new girlfriend. Secondly, where's the logic? The guy just got promoted, so he probably hasn't receive his pay raise yet. And where did the ring and the car even come from? So- again, according to Dhar Mann here- as a woman, I'm allowed to have nice things as long as I'm not actively trying to get them. I too, can have a luxurious life as long as I'm not ambitious. They already live in that culture and they run with guys who are also already in that culture. "Gold diggers" are making an exchange and the men they're with generally already know that. And not to mention, these men actively want and seek out women like this. I'd say it's pretty even. In these goofy churchy feel good rub it in your face videos "nice guys" only exist to find a trophy wife they can flex with and never seem to have any standards for themselves either, other than that they want a girlfriend that doesn't complain and will go along with all of his life choices instead of seeking her own + revenge ending as if that still makes them a nice guy.

    It’s so weird to me that these men are supposed to be good catches when like they aren’t financially stable, yet still are trying to start their own business, and in at least one example ask where a woman wants to go for dinner and then is like: oof sorry that’s a no go, how bout Denny’s. And literally the only other thing they have to offer is, “But...Babe. Babe, wait!” Um... idk man, maybe let the dream go if your business has been failing for years, you’re dead broke because of your bad financial decisions, and it’s ruining your life.
    I’m not saying you should get into relationships for money but acting like financial stability in a partner isn’t important for reasons other than being shallow, when one of the most common reasons relationships fail is money trouble, is just strange.

      here's my take...while these vids are overblown and stereotypical, you're very quick to assume what it's like to start a business. Also, financial problems can't be blamed on the man entirely. There's a lot of factors going into things like these. A lot of people look to save money when going for a startup so they don't purchase things they can otherwise afford. Just like how we can't assume all 'golddiggers' are just shallow liars, it's wrong to assume men with financial problems somehow deserve to be mistreated. Try not to defend the villain so much --- she's a hypothetical one dimensional character after all.

    Dahr Mann has 100% made a sketch where he pulls the whole "disabled people are inspirational" thing. I can feel it. I can feel it in my bones. He also definitely did a sketch where a person has a disability, but the disability is presented as actually being a good thing, and that you get some sort of weird power from it to balance out the disability, because the moral was supposed to be "disabled people aren't less deserving as other people" but Dahr Mann can't comprehend the fact that someone can be unable to do certain things while also being just as good as everyone else. Also the disability is super misportrayed. Like a kid has autism or something but they just scream a lot and say weird things that don't make sense to anyone else, and we're supposed to just accept that that's autism.
    This is all 100% true. He has done all these things. There's just no way he hasn't. His content screams "Story format that is supposed to convey a moral but is just copied from other slightly less horrible pieces of media a thousand times over so the moral makes no sense now."

    I'm kind of upset with how he used Black women in these. He's basically saying we don't have any financial standards for men. Like, sticking by your man while he builds himself up is fine obviously, but most of the time it doesn't benefit the Black woman and she ends up being left by the man for his true "preference" - most likely with a child or two.
    In truth, women in general should look at a man's character AND his economic position. Both will either negatively or positively affect you as a woman. Love doesn't pay the bills, put food on the table, or pay James' tuition for Harvard. It's not evil and cruel for a woman to consider a man's finances while vetting him. It's smart.

      a bit of a reach. i get your point but dhar mann's portrayal of women in general is more problematic. the black women are highlighted as the "good" "smart" "loyal" women. it might be a problem but it's not really going to affect the way people see black women unless black women prove the stereotype true. and i only saw two black women sticking with the "poor" man, the rest aren't specific on whether or not the woman got with him before or after he got money. the bigger issue here is his depiction of women only caring about money and nothing else.

    Ever notice Dhar Mann's fixation on the platinum blonde actress that always plays the gold digger/evil babysitter/spoiled girl? He absolutely has some kind of perverted fixation on her where he's obsessed with her getting "what she deserves". I don't know if she's a stand-in for a woman he once knew or if he has some kind of sick power fetish and loves watching her get humiliated, but it's creepy. I don't recall her ever playing the protagonist or having a happy conclusion.

    To be honest my problem with these videos is that they have HAHA GET OWNED energy, which is fine as a one-off, but a more beneficial video would involve character growth for the villains. I feel that watching these one-dimentional charactitures break out of their ways and into something more likeable would leave some people feeling inspired to actually do better for themselves.

    • @christopheralthouse6378
      @christopheralthouse6378 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      One of those videos actually does, I know because I've actually watched it and recognized it as soon as the clip started.
      The one I am referring to is where the 'gold digger' has to find a job because her man just got laid off. Before that point, she hurls abuse after abuse to the retail employee who tries to help her.
      Towards the end of that video, right after the point where the clip ended, the 'gold digger' is seen working in another retail establishment. She is then seen facing a "Karen" of her own and then after the experience, decides to then go to the store where she had been so abusive before and seeks out the employee that she abused.
      iirc, the video ends with the 'gold digger' apologizing for her rude behavior and then starting to help that worker from before by folding shirts with her...
      Now, obviously this isn't realistic but that's not what is in question... what is is the claim of no growth from the 'gold digger'. Unrealistic as this is, we do get character growth in this one. Worth a look...😅

Plus, I would be kind a mad if my fiancé just got a promotion and started throwing money at shit we don't need. How about we save that money to pay for our wedding? Why do we need a new car? It really shows you the type of guy Dhar Mann is where he thinks owning expensive shit is the most important factor to being happy.

      Lol totally agree. He could have been financially responsible and used the money to pay their mortgage, or save the money for their children's education, or invest the money to make more money.... I can think of so many ways to better use his pay raise than buying a ring or a new car. At least good jewellery can keep some value over long term, a new car would lose value the instant they put it on the road.

    • @sonorasgirl
      @sonorasgirl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      😂😂😂 I was just thinking that. Not to mention, if we’re potentially sharing bank accounts and expenses at that point (which the video implies) I’d be a bit miffed he made a VERY expensive and risky purchase that could impact both of us without chatting with me first. That’s a yikes for me buddy.

    • @tonichan89
      @tonichan89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, it really miffed me that he bought a car without letting her get an input in what car to get, since it's gonna be THEIR car. And maybe she doesn't want a new ring, maybe she has sentimental attachment to the old one! But I guess as long as it's expensive, nothing else matters?? I guess it's like they say, "money don't care about your feelings"... something like that
