For my speed triple 1200RR I opted for the racefit black edition full titanium exhaust. I would have loved to get the austin racing shortie pipe but I didn't feel like spending $1900. I had a street triple RS and I purchased an SC project exhaust for it. And a Daytona 675r that I purchased an akrapovic exhaust.
I've got Freedom Performance Sharp Curve Radius exhausts on my Victory Vegas 8-Ball here in Oz. They were available with standard or "quiet" baffles and I went with the standards... I know many people call out the "loud pipes..." mantra as bullshit, and I didn't really have an opinion on it until I put these pipes on. In the week leading up to the installation I had no less than 3 incidents of motorists trying to change into my lane when they were right next to me. That was more than six years ago, and it hasn't happened once since having those pipes fitted. Make of that what you will... 👍🇦🇺
The main argument i hear from ppl is that the pipes are facing backwards so there is no difference, which is a logical first impression but also wrong - sound is bouncing off surfaces and can be heard in all directions. Its also true that if your are behind the exhaust the sound is louder, but same goes for at front and on the side when compared to a stock exhaust- so if you produce 60 db (to the front) with an aftermarket it will be much less with the stock and that difference may be enough for others to notice. On the other hand if you have a 130db (on idle) exhaust you should not be aloud on the streets
intresting greaaat video and completely agree with the quest to find that exhaust sound like a high quality wav file played out of high fedility stereo in a mission
Hey Andy, I know this vid was a while ago, but I'm guessing you didn't get the bike tuned after exhaust? Did exhaust give more power over stock?? Cheers mate
I was voting ' no baffle' from the very beginning, glad to hear that was the final outcome.. I tried running ' no muffler at all' ( on a HD ) but that killed all power at low revs, involved lots of clutch-slipping to get away at traffic lights. Nowadays ' mufflers but no baffles' is the Only way to go ! Loud Pipes Save Lives is the mantra Here in Aussie has the added benefit of scaring Kangaroos, stopping them from bolting across the road in front of the bike.........
Yeah no baffle is defo where it's at! Although what I don't like is my ears ringing after a ride. fortunately this exhaust is quite deep and not too raspy so doesn't hurt my ears.
Great video... I'm still a pervert with a stock exhaust and eagerly watching the interweb of dreams to see if anything I like comes up. So far nothing makes me wanna part ways with my hard earned bike part credits... In fact I think some of the aftermarket options are worse than the factory exhaust.. Yours, however, is the closest I've seen/heard so far that cmade me think "hang on, that might be good"... Question: regardless of the noise, are there any noticable gains in power compared to the factory exhaust?
To be honest it's been so long since I had the stock exhaust on it's hard to make a comparison. If I was to take an educated guess I'd say it's very marginally improved. Being able to really feel the difference between each of the baffles has been a bit of an eye opener. I'll probably get it mapped next year and that's when I think it will really come into play.
If only I saw this video before purchasing my exhaust, very comprehensive
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant video, really helped, and subscribed 👍

Those racefits sound lovely!

Absolutely they do. I was filtering through loads of traffic the other day and the cars move out of the way because they can hear you coming!
