Turning to the vast rows of aisles you see them. Clad in that bright orange smock like fiery standards of war and creeping from up on high atop the racks. Tools in hand and smiles on their faces, confidence in their skill. In unison they drone "Welcome to Home Depot"
"It's Closing time. You're in holy territory, so now you must be judged for the right to stay." Says the Lead Manager. "Prove your Home worthiness, to leave with a sliver of The Home's Power. "
I work in CS for one of Home Depot’s vendors, and every so often I have to call a store with a question about an order. I kind of want to ask them if they can make this the stores’ hold music.
Nathaniel, Master Craftsman Phase 1: Rushes you with an angle grinder Phase 2: Close combat with a chainsaw, Minions with nailguns show up. Phase 3: Pulls out a comically sized hammer and swings it with the skill of a true master.
PHASE I - ENCOUNTER 0:00 You enter your local Home Depot, breathing in the smell of wood, metal, and the scent of many dads around. You walk toward aisle 4, where your metal pipe you need is there. You reach for the last metal pipe, when suddenly, your hand is slapped out of the way by a dad. The showdown begins here. PHASE II - TENSE EYE 0:48 Both you and the dad lock eyes. A health bar appears above his head. The dad gets more tense. The dad reaches for the metal pipe but you know you won't let that happen. You kick his stomach with force and he falls over. He gets up with fierce motion. You know you fucked up. PHASE III - SHOWDOWN 1:34 Home Depot boss music plays, and your enemy is not alone anymore. With dad's sidekick, the employee, stands by his side. The dad throws the first punch to your face. But the punch was slow and you managed to dodge the incoming fist coming your way. The employee roundhouse kicks your stomach, which puts you off-guard, as you forgot employees can still fight. You look up, and the dad is standing over you, menacingly. He lifts his mighty foot, and drops it on your head with great power. GAME OVER

The 2x4, seemingly aware of its significance, teetered on the brink of falling into the hands of one of these DIY gladiators. As if guided by an unseen force, both dads reached the 2x4 simultaneously. Their eyes locked in a moment of silent acknowledgment-a nod to the shared journey of home improvement. Yet, only one could emerge victorious in this aisle arena. The tension climaxed, frozen in a tableau of home improvement heroism. The distant echo of checkout beeps became the triumphant music of a conquering warrior as one dad emerged, 2x4 in hand, ready to tackle the challenges of the next DIY quest.
I love it, I just wish it had more of that competitive feeling. The back & forth between the hammers felt like they started competing, alternating swings. If you ever make another maybe throw in a third swing (like from Andre in Dark Souls) and kind of treat it like a 'rap battle' beat where the two hammers get a couple lines then come together for a fully formed beat, when the third hammer swings down changing up the dynamic.

This feels mildly similar to Risk of Rain 2, specifically the character REX. (robot/plant symbiotic being, with a set of natural attacks and a set of mechanical attacks.)
The clash begins as a mere squabble over a 2x4 but then you see it. The health bar. But as you go for the first strike the dad in his mid 30s blocks your attack then counters with a staggering punch to the stomach. you step back to recover from the blow just dealt. The music empowering the dad makes him powerful. You charge in after grabbing a metal pole next to you. A mighty war cry echoes through Home Depot as you two fight for the last 2x4. The dad blocks your strike with a wooden dowel rod. "It's not about the weapon, son, it's about how you use it." He says knocking you to the ground. you jump back. He takes the offensive and charges. You suddenly think about why you're doing this, for your deck. You say it in your head, "I will not lose here. That much is set in stone!" The dad charges but he's slower. Your much more nimble. You throw a row of planks on the ground stopping him. The dad gets blinded by the saw dust. You charge full speed through the dust. You go for an attack to the head, but he saw it coming. He moves his head making the pole collide with his shoulder. Shoulder dislocated he steps back and snaps his arm back in place. The dad charges enraged. This time grabbing a large plank to use as a riot shield. The shield lowers his visibility, and he doesn't notice that you're now standing where you knocked down the planks. You rush up behind him intending to take out his knees. He reacts swiftly and grabs the edges of the board and attacks you with his shield as if it was a large fan. You try to block with your metal pole, but it fails, knocking your pole into your head. You hear a ringing and can't see straight. You come to only to see that the dad is now kicking you in the chin. You fall to the ground. The dad approaches. He begins to speak but you blind him again by throwing sawdust that you gathered off the floor earlier in his face. You kick him in the shins staggering him. You then push the dad down and collapse a row of wood on him, trapping him. You grab the 2x4 and depart from your victory. You check out and leave to complete your deck. The very deck that you will have many memories on with your friends and family.

You can beat the boss the hard way (dignity intact) or ask an NPC for the quick solution (embarrassment). Summons that can aid you in the fight are Mexican migrant workers just outside the arena.
VS Home Depot Manager Phase 1(game where the fight takes place:Kirby and the Forgotten Land) The boss charges at you with a hammmer. He also sometimes throws it upward and at you. Very simple and slow patterns you can avoid easily. Phase 2 The boss summons three employees with identical patterns, and the arena expands a little bit. It becomes tough to deal with all four at once, but once you KO the three employees, the boss loses invincibility and enters stage 3. Phase 3 The boss gets angry and starts combining hammers into one humongous hammer. You cannot attack him during this. His attacks are: Slamming the HUGE hammer down to create a massive shockwave, dropping stars all over the arena Dropping tons of metal pipes on the arena Summoning an employee if he doesn’t already have one Taking a random hammer and throwing it at you Filling the arena with walls made of wood planks, which only his attacks or Fire can destroy Pulling out tons more hammers and rapidly throwing them at you Once you defeat this phase, the fight is over. Gacha Figure Description(for funsies) Some say this manager gets everything done in the Home Depot. Others say he’s lazy, and only commands his minimum wage employees. Whatever the case, the doer gets more done.
I just imagine a boss fight where you just run around a warehouse and all the workers run on the upper decks and just throw random shit at you. And then A FORKLIFT CERTIFIED DRIVES TO YOU 💀

Man, this was such a boss fight in the game, I found by accident the alternative win-con exploring the arena tho', that one secret passage to the unfinished shack that leads the boss to have a mental breakdown, such a great emonional momment!
As the depot rises, you feel a sense of dread rush through your host, you hear the distant yells of angry fathers yammering about wood, but you keep persisting through this battle

VS Home Depot Manager Phase 1(game where the fight takes place:Kirby and the Forgotten Land)
The boss charges at you with a hammmer. He also sometimes throws it upward and at you. Very simple and slow patterns you can avoid easily.
Phase 2
The boss summons three employees with identical patterns, and the arena expands a little bit. It becomes tough to deal with all four at once, but once you KO the three employees, the boss loses invincibility and enters stage 3.
Phase 3
The boss gets angry and starts combining hammers into one humongous hammer. You cannot attack him during this. His attacks are:
Slamming the HUGE hammer down to create a massive shockwave, dropping stars all over the arena
Dropping tons of metal pipes on the arena
Summoning an employee if he doesn’t already have one
Taking a random hammer and throwing it at you
Filling the arena with walls made of wood planks, which only his attacks or Fire can destroy
Pulling out tons more hammers and rapidly throwing them at you
Once you defeat this phase, the fight is over.

Man, this was such a boss fight in the game, I found by accident the alternative win-con exploring the arena tho', that one secret passage to the unfinished shack that leads the boss to have a mental breakdown, such a great emonional momment!
