You click on the board as it reveals a nine. You think it will be easy as you start to realise there are only eight fields around that nine. You question yourself where the ninth mine is as it slowly starts to dawn on you. There is no ninth field around that nine and there is neither a sight of a three dimensional field. And suddenly you feel a shiver down your spine as you realise that that ninth mine cannot be found anywhere. The ninth mine is not on that field nor is it in the game at all, but the ninth mine is somewhere else. You get the chills as you look around confused and catch a glimpse of it in the corner of your eye. It never was on the board nor in the game to start with, but all that time it was somewhere else and that somewhere else is right behind you.
Finding a 9 in Minesweeper wouldn't be that bad because you also know exactly what is in all of the adjacent spaces. Just flag all 8 spaces around it and... Wait...
"But where is the ninth bomb?" you ask yourself, not yet understanding the severity of your predicament And then it dawns on you: you just dug up a bomb with a timer.
Fun fact, there are kinds of mines that only explode after you remove weight from them. In this context, you were doomed from the moment you stepped on the minefield
"It appears you have found a unique mine." "If you are wondering why it's a 9 rather than an 8, it's because the 9 itself is an actual mine surrounded by 8 others." "Worry not, it's a special type of mine called a 'pressure weighted mine'. Clicking on it once won't detonate it, but be sure to keep your cursor on it, unless you want to find yourself in several pieces." "Although, it seems to be an old model, so you could move away from it for a few seconds. All in all, it's practically the same procedure as normal. Good luck, and I'll be damned if you'd even make it out of it alive."
The music perfectly represents how you'd be feeling when you realize that there can only be 8 bombs around the 9 and suddenly the purple 9 seems to glare at you menacingly as you start to panic.
Wow this song goes so incredibly hard it gave me a game idea Imagine a first person game where you stand in a room with a computer to play minesweeper, you beat a couple of levels and then you see the 9 appear, followed by a ticking sound, behind you just appeared the 9th bomb and you have a limited time to complete the game before it blows up, while the smiley face constantly hinders your progress in the game, all while this music plays. I just thought it would be sick
What would be interesting is if it's like one of those co-op bomb defusal games but everyone is working together to play minesweeper and you gotta defuse any bombs accidently "dug up." Or even singleplayer would be fine. Actually, this idea reminds me of FPS Chess because it's similar in format, where you play an ordinary game but there is also a mini-game you play that determines success outside of the minigame as well.
For a game that had no sound you invented a great logical theme for it... this has the nut shot like power of the flowery battle at the end of Undertale, comes outta no where and just is baller! Love it.
I clicked here because getting 9 in minesweeper is literally impossible I stayed becase you poured this liquid fire into my ears. Thanks, youtube algorithm
I can just imagine the giant smiley face looming over you with a look of burning spite burrowed within it's eyes, as the tiles around you break from the main grid and float around the game's master. You've seen his face so many times but never stopped to think he'd have total control over this plane. Your hope dwindles as the numbers flow through and overwhelm your feeble human mind. What you thought was a simple numbers game had grown into a vessel of torture for you. Just as your mind began to race you heard it speak. "One. Two. Three. Four." Confusion struck you, knowing you'd seen these numbers but never considered their value to the face before you. "Six. Seven. Eight. Nine." Your mind raced to a conclusion, your ability to overwhelm the boards with ease made you a perfect candidate for the ultimate test. Your final stand.
The only explanation I can give to this is that the main instrument in the first part of the song sounds very similar to the romantic trumpet used in some of the earlier touhou songs

I just misread it, thank god, that was really fucking with me... why is it a 7? it was an 8 just now, I'm sure of it. mistaking a 8 for a 9 is an understandable mistake, a 9 is just an open 8. but 7? you couldn't mistake 7 for 8. they're entirely different in appearance. I wouldn't have made that mistake, the numbers had to have ch- oh. it's 6 now. it is changing. but why? it's not like the mines move around, they're mines. it's 5 now. it's getting lower. statistically, if it was the mines moving, they would all move at a similar time. the number would radically fluctuate. it might even go up if a mine comes back. even with moving mines, that still doesn't explain why it started with 9. with perfect setup, the best you could do is 8. there would have to be a mine on the square, but if that were the case, it would've exploded. I can't click another space either, usually that only happens when the game ends and the reset button pops up. it's down to 2 now. it's pretty clear it's counting down to something, but what would it be counting down to? it's 1 now. i gotta think quicker. All of you imagine that the "9" box is a timer and you have to complete the game quickly, since every time it reaches 0 another box starts counting from 9 to 0, erasing the tracks of the mines until there are no boxes left and you lose? O_O
"Soldier. You seem to have encountered a Ninemine. We've taken the liberty of flagging all the tiles around it for you, but be careful: This is a very dangerous situation, as that tile in of itself is a mine. It's been triggered now, so there's no getting out of it. However, it's not detonated yet, so we've got two possibilities. One: It's a double step mine. If this is the case, moving your cursor over it again will detonate it for real this time. Two: It's a pressure release mine. This type of mine will only detonate once your cursor has left it. Luckily for you, they have a timer to prevent misfires. We'd estimate you have about 9 seconds of total time. Again, the timer is paused whilst your cursor is on it. But as soon as it's off, the timer will start going down, and pause again once it's back on. It's old tech, so we can't really turn the timer back up to 9 in any way. As you might be able to tell though, these two types of mines contradict each other. There's only one way to tell which one it is without things that should not be exploding doing exactly that: If it's a pressure release mine, there will be a ticking that slowly gets louder as it nears detonation. Of course, this is risky, as it runs down the timer. Good luck soldier, and may whichever god you pray to be merciful, lest you end up at their side."
I decided to play minesweeper with this track, the difficulty was high at the beginning of the eight, then there was a large field of fives and fours, but I was able to pass the minesweeper with this track, it was like a boss fight, because I didn't even know how to play it until I realized that the figure shows how many mines are around, and when I saw the nine in the video, I realized that it was blowing me up and started ticking.
A 9 means you did click on a mine, but it didn't explode yet. Do not click on other tiles, or rather, do not step off the mine. You have already lost and you know it, but for how much longer will you torture yourself trying to find a way out?
"Yo thats a sick best whats the song called?" *Aggressively pulls the handbrake* *Lowers window* *Lowers shades* *Looks you desd in the eye* "Minesweeper final boss theme"
i honestly thought this was like a song you hear for almost nearing the end. that is incredible talent it is straight out of the 80s, also love how you added that old window's voice (master chief if any of u know what im talkin bout) counting with the echo effect it just compliments it so well fantastic job dude!
The moment you dig up the 9 suddently the board starts to shift into 3D... becoming in the shape of a giant voxel mine... you have 9 minutes to dig up all mines, can you do it?
Terror sets in as you realize there is no 9th place. You look around franticly, until you hear a familiar click. You look down the 9th land mine was under you. As you stand there in defeat you now know that the mines always win.
I've been making Minesweeper in C for a course project, and it just struck me that, due to a bug, it's technically possible for a 9 tile to actually spawn... I'm almost considering leaving it in
you click on a square, revealing a nine. this puzzles you, as theres no way for there to be nine mines adjacent to one spot. your confusion clears when you see the nine tick down to an eight, then a seven...
I love how the music fits the emotions of someone in this situation. It starts calmly as the player expects it to be a cake-walk, they slowly place the flags one by one, and then... "w...wait a minute..." they slowly realize and start panicking just as the music picks up.
"THERE IS ONLY 8 SPACES, HOW CAN IT BE THAT THERE IS 9 MINES ?!?!??!???!!!?" I screamed internally in confusion But then it came to my realization... The answer was right under my nose all this time, or rather... under my CURSOR The ninth mine... It's a special kind of mine. Rather than instantly detonating whenever someone clicks on it, it gets triggered by the pressure of the click and the detonation comes from REMOVING the weight that is over it As long as the cursor remains over this tile, i am safe. But... without the cursor, i can't mark the mines and click on the other blank tiles.... without the cursor, i can't WIN This... This is the power of Minesweeper's Final Boss... Truly outstanding
“The task is simple, clear this board of minesweeper and the ninth one won’t explode. Where’s the ninth one you ask? Well if you’re really that curious please check below your chair. And Good luck.”
This feels like i gotta run, but at the same time I can't, for there are 8 in front of me and 1 at my back securing my retreat. I am cooked before I can even make a decision. Farewell comrades! The world of swipes have won and its upto the reader to not get ambushed as good as the weapon as such on their screen rn.
You have reached the highest level of minesweeper. It has always been a routine to dig on the first tile to reveal your surroundings, to better identify number of mines nearby. One to three has been the frequent number when exploring, four to six will make you sweat as it's intimidating, seven and eight has been rarely sighted and makes you feel dread, seven gives you hope of an escape while eight makes you feel despair, there will be no more tiles safe for you to sweep but the game was not over but you still won. You conquered them against all odds, yet as you press on the tile of the final level, it reveals the number, nine. You are now frozen, from shock and realization, of an *odd* rule you have never seen before, past the limits of what has been possibly the number of mines in the surrounding tile. The first step of the final level and the final destination to bring an end of this game. The moment you made the move, your vision flashes white and darkens... *GAME OVER*
This sounds like a secret fight in an RPG that changes the entire game style for its fight alone. Now your team of heroes is playing minesweeper with some mad computer as threatens to blow up the world.

A 9 means you did click on a mine, but it didn't explode yet.
Do not click on other tiles, or rather, do not step off the mine. You have already lost and you know it, but for how much longer will you torture yourself trying to find a way out?
"Yo thats a sick best whats the song called?"
*Aggressively pulls the handbrake*
*Lowers window*
*Lowers shades*
*Looks you desd in the eye*
"Minesweeper final boss theme"
A standard game of 3D minesweeper
Your already stepped on a mine.... Just dont know it yet
i honestly thought this was like a song you hear for almost nearing the end. that is incredible talent it is straight out of the 80s, also love how you added that old window's voice (master chief if any of u know what im talkin bout) counting with the echo effect it just compliments it so well
fantastic job dude!
I love how the music goes on really hard, but the 9 just stood there, watching through the screen as if it's already knew it's taken over your life
At this point, it's not question of "where" but "when"
there is a secret boss 10 here, he appears with a chance of 0.0000000001, no one has beaten him yet, but his theme is the best
That's the p-1 level

The ninth mine has already been planted in your left parietal lobe.
yet another fine adition to my collection
The moment you dig up the 9 suddently the board starts to shift into 3D... becoming in the shape of a giant voxel mine... you have 9 minutes to dig up all mines, can you do it?
I would easily be more desperate with a 9 in mineswepper than with 90% of current horror games
Terror sets in as you realize there is no 9th place. You look around franticly, until you hear a familiar click. You look down the 9th land mine was under you. As you stand there in defeat you now know that the mines always win.
For the longest time, I didn’t think this was an actual game
Wait, nine?
*he notices*
Oh no...
*looks down*
¡Sh-
That 9 ominously standing and watching at the viewer for a whole vid
The final mine has transcended the 2-D space and is now behind you.
"What? Where's the 9th mine?"
"Turn around"
"😧"
I've been making Minesweeper in C for a course project, and it just struck me that, due to a bug, it's technically possible for a 9 tile to actually spawn...
I'm almost considering leaving it in
Remember: It's not a bug, it's a feature! xD
now force it to spawn and make it a video
That's exactly like realizing you stepped on a mine that triggers when u take your foot off, and then seeing mines absolutely everywhere.
Completely insane vibes, bro!
U got my sub)
Solid BPM shift in the beginning. As a Camellia fan, my brain derives pleasure from it.
Plot twist: Every number on this board is off by one, either one more or one less.
so all zeros that appear are 1's
or -1@@alexruska9390
that is FUCKED
Zero-indexed minesweeper
Combine this with the ability to have negative mines that remove from the mine count instead of add
When the twelve page essay is due at midnight it’s 11:30 and you haven’t started.
you click on a square, revealing a nine. this puzzles you, as theres no way for there to be nine mines adjacent to one spot. your confusion clears when you see the nine tick down to an eight, then a seven...
I love how the music fits the emotions of someone in this situation. It starts calmly as the player expects it to be a cake-walk, they slowly place the flags one by one, and then... "w...wait a minute..." they slowly realize and start panicking just as the music picks up.
*Clicks the next tile as it is safe due to byte overflow*
if nine happened you would only see it for a split second then it would transform into a mine as the game realizes
"THERE IS ONLY 8 SPACES, HOW CAN IT BE THAT THERE IS 9 MINES ?!?!??!???!!!?" I screamed internally in confusion
But then it came to my realization... The answer was right under my nose all this time, or rather... under my CURSOR
The ninth mine... It's a special kind of mine. Rather than instantly detonating whenever someone clicks on it, it gets triggered by the pressure of the click and the detonation comes from REMOVING the weight that is over it
As long as the cursor remains over this tile, i am safe.
But... without the cursor, i can't mark the mines and click on the other blank tiles.... without the cursor, i can't WIN
This... This is the power of Minesweeper's Final Boss... Truly outstanding
0:00 9 appears
0:19 you start to realize what’s going on
0:45 you panic trying not to die
3:34 you die anyway despite your efforts

You reveal a space in minesweeper and it reveals a 9
"Where's the ninth bomb?!" You ask yourself, until suddenly
8... 7...
The ninth bomb is in an undisclosed location inside your house. Every step you take is a risky move.
Watch your step. It's in your floors.
*GAME OVER*

I bet there is at least one maths nerd out there that can figure out where to click.
You have to plant the flag IRL.

Due to the era Minesweeper was made in, you can click any of the bombs next to the 9. Byte overflow will let you do what you want.

This sounds like a secret fight in an RPG that changes the entire game style for its fight alone.
Now your team of heroes is playing minesweeper with some mad computer as threatens to blow up the world.
