@@StickmanGuides I want to cry, I beat it and I died at the end with knight when you have to masg the button to take the sword for the final hit. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN😭
@@unknown-ke2be This happened to me at the end of that battle trial from the main menu, the all islands one. If you hit one of the shoulder buttons during that sword QTE, it automatically fails and you die.
one weird thing i figured out is that after you fail a parry with wyvern and you're awkardly waiting for wyvern to move again you can actually "skip" that waiting by dodging. It looks as if sonic teleports to the end of the animation and then wyvern starts moving again, it helped me save some time after failing parrys
Oh yeah, uh, there’s one other major difference between the other difficulties and Extreme Mode. You die to ANYTHING. Giganto spins around and a laser touches you? Dead. You miss the parry window for one of Wyvern’s missiles? Dead. You were slightly early trying to parry Knight’s shield? Dead. I have yet to beat it and I’ve been playing it for 29 hours… Also, super helpful tips for Wyvern and Knight: For Wyvern, if you hold either dodge button, like L or R, you’ll be completely invincible during Wyvern’s fight. Now, it’s not foolproof because you still have to parry, but as long as you mess up by parrying late and not early, you’ll survive, but make sure to quickly repress and hold one of the dodge buttons to regain invincibility. As for Knight, there’s a little patch of gray land kind of to the left of where you spawn. If you can make it over there, the initial spikes he makes when he spins around won’t hit you. (It should be easy to tell where it is because it’s a different color gray than the rest of the area. It kind of looks like the normal terrain of Chaos Island.) Well, I sure hope I can beat this someday, lol. I don’t want to 100% a normal file to play the fight on Easy Mode instead because I’ve spent too much time trying to beat it on Extreme Mode already, lol.
@@DayIX Haha, no worries! I’ve got a bunch of other strategies I’ve been trying out with some help, but I’m going to maybe make a video tutorial with my specific strategy at some point. Best of luck to you, though! (I sure hope I can beat this soon too though, lol.)
I heard somewhere that if you stand still after spawning into the Knight climb, you wont get hit. I only fought Knight twice during the trial and it worked both times.
@@spectralaria8648 Interesting! So, the spikes just don’t hit you at all if you stand completely still? (Also, I ended up going to a patch of land a little to the left that the spikes won’t reach. I’m curious if standing still would be safer, though.)
@@jadonh I havent fought it enough to confidently say it works every time, but it DID work twice. You just need to watch out for the hand after, because it lands either on top of or very close to where you spawn.
One thing i wanted to add. A more "elegant" way to avoid the laser is to hold parry and left at the same time RIGHT as Giganto fires the laser in the cutscene.
I really like Giganto under these conditions would have been more than enough training for the final boss, but I AM glad that we can do a Titan only boss rush now
If you set the difficulty to “Easy Mode” it resets the parry timing back to 4-5 seconds. Just completed the mission with this method. Thank you for the tips in this video. They really help maximize the time, and skip certain cutscenes, in order to finish the mission.
Alrght. I atually learned something from this. I figured out the punch stomp thing on my own, but the tips on Giganto to give myself more time is DEFINITELY gonna be a godsend. Wyvern has been trolling me a long time. Thanks for the tips on it♥
The quick cyloop and stomp helped me so much, I could never think of it by myself. I finally beat this with 70 rings left, I basically struggled a lot with the Knight when he was putting the spikes on the ground. The parrying frames you gave helped me a ton with the Wyvern. Thank you so much.
Dude, I can not stress enough... THANK. YOU. Your tips helped me get past this trial with about 50 rings left. (I beaten the Wyvern trial with 260 rings left using your methods, though could be because I was playing on a lower difficulty)
The Wyvern also has a laser after the first qte, but you can avoid it by spamming the parry/dodge buttons just like Giganto. While the Wyvern is absolute HELL, I find the key to beating it is to be very patient. The missiles can also glitch out and hit you even after you parry one, so you have to make sure you hold the parry button once it’s hit to try to avoid that. I managed to clear Wyvern with over 200 rings left, so thank you so much for the strat!

Hey thanks for this guide! I honestly wouldn't have figured it out without your help! One small tip I would add is for the knight though! At the beginning when you're regular sonic, stay inside the knight's legs to avoid his spikes more easily. 2 times, his spikes eliminated all of my rings and they were extra heart breaking as I had over 200 rings both times. Getting through Wyvern with over 200 is a miracle for me. And yes I was playing on hard mode 😢
It took me a solid month of trying to defeat this. It was the third part I was stuck on. The dodging around the shield was the ticket to a win. Thank you, I'm never going to fight this challenge again now that its completed.
Thanks for this guide, I really wouldn't have been able to do this without it. By the end when I defeated Knight, I had no rings left and thought I was done, but I barely won by the skin of my teeth thanks to your guide.
There's a saying that my brother uses, which is fitting here: You're a saint and a scholar. I'd been absolutely caveman-ing the Giganto boss fight (leaving me with 327 rings at most), and your tips saved me WAY more rings. The Wyvern fight is my biggest hurdle, but I feel more prepared for it now, so biggest thanks to your video. I think the worst thing about Master King Koco's trial in conjuncture with Sonic Frontiers' gameplay style isn't just the incompatibility, but also the sheer state of the game. I've had times where using the chains on Wyvern suddenly places me outside of the range of attacking, the missiles that look like they're coming right at you will completely clip through you while a second one you weren't keeping your eyes on suddenly hits, or sometimes the missiles will hit the environment and not be aimed towards you at all. All this wastes your ring supply. It's not even good gameplay, it's like trying to play hockey with a tree branch. I've played some Platinum games, namely the Bayonetta series and Astral Chain, and I really haven't appreciated how forgiving and smooth the gameplay functions of those two franchises were until now.
@@spectralaria8648 YES I HATE THAT SHIT. Though I'm proud to proclaim that I've finally beaten that hell trial. Had to do it twice because I thought the game would automatically save it when I accidentally reset the final boss fight, and beat it the second time (and saved immediately).
Knight was my favorite boss...now...I HATE it...I've been stuck there for days....even the Wyvern is super easy for me to beat at this point (after watching this video ofc)....I guess I have to practice . But seriously this video is a light in the dsrk for many of us
AMAZING. I followed the guide as I pushed the bosses and I first tried it. However, I do recommend a camera that overlooks the controller as the game is being played, as it can help define when we should parry to help skip things like giganto's lazer, or Knight's shield section. But anyways...THANK YOU!
All of these strategies helped me beat it on normal! The Wyvern timing was ridiculous on hard, and easy (especially with the patch) felt too cheap and free. The normal fight still was very hard and took me hours.
Thank you so much for making this. I was struggeling with this so much in Normal because you are basically forced to do these strats to even beat them in time. And the the perfect parry which you never have done before is so stupid. If the parry system would have been like the perfect parry from the start then this would not have been so much of an issue but jesus. It took me this long since the update is out to finally beat it on normal and I only barely beat it in time, I had like 20 rings left for deafeting knight because I didnt quite understand how to skip the shield riding part.
I beat this trial on hard before this video came out, it was a real struggle as I couldn’t pass Wyvern, I grinded it for some days, I beat this trial first try after I passed Wyvern, your strats are great btw, I’ll try to use them when try to do this trial again
3:09 I didn't even know that you can dodge this move, also just spending half cyloop meter for the first phase of Wyvern is enough, WOW!. Pretty usefull your guide. :D
Here are some extra inputs on the fight: 1. You don't have to wait for Giganto's laser in the 2nd phase. Just dash to Giganto, do a homing attack and then a quick cyloop. From then, you can continue as you demonstrated. My best attempt on Giganto is with 378 rings left because I save time from the laser animation. 2. Wyvern is definitely hard, but I wouldn't say he's jank. His claws DO have a consistent frame they hit you, and you CAN consistently parry it. It's hard for sure, but it's not an unfair/untelegraphed fight. 3. After quick cylooping Knight, when he's trapped, I recommend starting with Sonic Boom instead of the stomp attack. It fills the quick cyloop meter much faster. When the quick cyloop meter is filled, THEN you can use whichever other attack you want. It's beneficial because, in the 2nd phase, you want to quick cyloop him as fast as possible to save rings.
1. sometimes when I do a homing attack and quick cyloop, for some reason it wouldn’t always work and his beam attack would begin, but I can try again. Thanks for that! 2. believe me, everything from improperly landing on the ribbon sending you flying over the map, to the missiles floating around in strange ways when you perfect parry them and it forces you to rush over to Wyvern causing you to sometimes to a hit from an offscreen missile, it definitely is jank/unfair due to how buggy it is. Now in terms of the attacks, yes Wyvern’s claws do have a consistent frame, but they’re unintuitive to first time players, especially when the first swipe requires you to perfect parry when the claw is close and the second when it’s further away. The weird spins that stupid Titan does also very much throw many players off. I don’t think for example people have as much trouble with perfect parrying the missles or shield because they are projectiles that come at you at pretty clear speeds and their window to perfect parry is right when they’re about to hit Sonic, as all perfect parties should be. 3. Good tip!
@@StickmanGuides 1. You have to be quick with the homing attack and quick cyloop. Just when the homing attack prompt appears, press square, then spam ∆ so Giganto will be grabbed as soon as possible. 2. The chase sequence before the fight and the missiles flying in different directions I get. Still, you don't have to parry the missiles actually. You can hold 1 of the bumpers, which puts Sonic in an evasion position, and all the missiles will do nothing (even if they hit Sonic). It takes longer to get to Wyvern this way, but this strategy is preferable if you don't want to risk getting hit. In my previous comment, I was talking about Wyvern's attack animations. You CAN learn when to parry his claw attack, his double claw attack and his tail swipe attack. That said, I do understand where you are coming from with saying these attacks are unintuitive to learn. Just because it's possible and consistent, doesn't make it great.
@@roiitzkovich4545 Ah wow I did see someone do the thing where they hold a single bumper down it would blow up the missles on impact, honestly I thought that was an exploit that wasn’t caught during play testing lol
@@StickmanGuides Nah it's likely intentional. You can't do it on arena fights like Giganto, Knight or Supreme so I assume the devs were like "man, people really need easier evasion on these rockets against Wyvern cuz you're on autopilot the entire fight.
Thank you, I starting feel the lag on this trail I really want to finish the story but not compromising putting it on easy. So far I been dodge spoilers crazy to enjoy the win.
Instead of using punch and stomp you just need to use x/cross slash the damage to the titans while cylooped will be x-treme. Btw fantastic vid and your Wyvern parry tips were really helpful. One last thing during Wyvern's first attack there is a audio cue perry near the end of it and you should be good!
Thank you. This helped immensely. Also did not know the cyclopp infinity symbol gave infinite boost for a time. Id occasionally have infinite boost and wonder why.
Spamming the dodge/parry keys separately while holding a direction (left or right) will usually result in a clean dodge animation. Also, if you charge your cyloop fast enough, you can go for the double cyloop immediately. If his health isn't down much, he'll stay on the ground for awhile and let you beat him up while still dealing double damage from the cyloop.
During Knight's second phase, after you deflect the shield at him, he tends to launch a quick sword attack that normally misses you because you're too close. So when that attack happens, hold back slightly before parrying so you move into range, then you can properly parry and continue fighting.
You Can actually skip the laser from giganto, after the cutscene, boost and use the quick Cyloop, giganto will be sent into the air skipping the laser.
How do you build up the quick Cyloop meter so quickly? I finally got to the Knight but I just couldn't fill up the Cyloop meter, and I certainly didn't have it filled at the start when you did. I'd hit him a bit and he'd drift away from me again.
After a lot of attempts, I made it to Knight (second time, first time the spikes hit me forcing me to restart) and for some reason he never tried to block with his shield, but the quick cyloop didn't work either (tried 3 times in a row, all 3 failing to take effect) So I just punch stomp combo him and finally finished the trial
The worst thing about this challenge that nobody talks about enough is the MEANINGLESS BS you have to jump through just to have to fight the Titans. I don’t mind have to fight Giganto ever time, but the thought of having to run that stupid ribbon for 2 minutes before fighting Wyvern sounds painful. Not to mention the feeling when you beat Wyvern only to get spiked before you even have the chance to fight Knight.
If you play frontiers on the switch. So for switch players I recommend playing the trial in handheld mode. The game is alot smoother that way so it's a little easier to see the parry windows.
When wyvern starts his second phase with those red rings coming all out of him though it feels like after you parry one of the rockets his first claw swipe at you is way WAY faster than it is in his first phase. There doesn’t seem to be any rhythm to it. I did manage to perfect parry that tail attack of his but no clue how. I was just spamming perfect parry
I will keep saying, there’s a difference between making something more challenging vs. making something harder just to SAY that it’s harder

Don't forget when the missiles are hidden behind Wyvern's tail so you can't see them until it's too late
I managed to get past Giganto, but Wyvern? WHEN'S THE FRAME???
Go on easy and then the Parry goes slower and longer when you do it
@@JustHitmewithaBat Uh... I meant on HARD mode. I already cleared the Final Horizon if you didn't know.
Told myself, I started on hard mode and I was sticking through it, took me 4 hours straight.
That’s the spirit! After patch 1.41 hopefully you had a bit of an easier time
OH MY GOD, THANK YOU SOO MUCH, this trial was so impossibly difficult!
You’re welcome!!! 😎
Knight was my favorite boss...now...I HATE it...I've been stuck there for days....even the Wyvern is super easy for me to beat at this point (after watching this video ofc)....I guess I have to practice . But seriously this video is a light in the dsrk for many of us
Finally did it on hard mode. Thank you so much!
AMAZING. I followed the guide as I pushed the bosses and I first tried it. However, I do recommend a camera that overlooks the controller as the game is being played, as it can help define when we should parry to help skip things like giganto's lazer, or Knight's shield section. But anyways...THANK YOU!
seriously man great video! I was struggling so hard lol
All of these strategies helped me beat it on normal! The Wyvern timing was ridiculous on hard, and easy (especially with the patch) felt too cheap and free. The normal fight still was very hard and took me hours.
Thank you! I've finally been able to do it since the dlc dropped on hard mode.
Bro when I was trying to dodge giganto's attack in second phase while he was cylooped I panicked and ACTUALLY PARRIED IT😂
I beat this trial on hard before this video came out, it was a real struggle as I couldn’t pass Wyvern, I grinded it for some days, I beat this trial first try after I passed Wyvern, your strats are great btw, I’ll try to use them when try to do this trial again
Gods blessing, imma use this on my extreme save file
3:09 I didn't even know that you can dodge this move, also just spending half cyloop meter for the first phase of Wyvern is enough, WOW!. Pretty usefull your guide. :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH I STRUGGLED VERY HARD THANK YOU
THANK YOU for this really, this vid has helped me so much
Thank you, you saved me the insanity of failing the challenge for hours.
Dude thank you so much, IVE BEEN PULLING MY HAIR OUT. YOU SAVE ME SO MANY HOURS!!!
Here are some extra inputs on the fight:
How did I not know cyloop was possible while super?
So when that attack happens, hold back slightly before parrying so you move into range, then you can properly parry and continue fighting.
nice for youtube to recommend me this after i beat it, but still good video 👍
You Can actually skip the laser from giganto, after the cutscene, boost and use the quick Cyloop, giganto will be sent into the air skipping the laser.
Sometimes it just doesn't get affected by the quick cyloop which wastes bar and ruins the run
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I did it. With 19 sec on the Glock. What a absolute Nightmare.
How do you build up the quick Cyloop meter so quickly? I finally got to the Knight but I just couldn't fill up the Cyloop meter, and I certainly didn't have it filled at the start when you did. I'd hit him a bit and he'd drift away from me again.
Thanks to this video i was able to master perfect parry
thank you so much I can finally beat the DLC!
Really awsome guide that helped me allot
After a lot of attempts, I made it to Knight (second time, first time the spikes hit me forcing me to restart) and for some reason he never tried to block with his shield, but the quick cyloop didn't work either (tried 3 times in a row, all 3 failing to take effect)
So I just punch stomp combo him and finally finished the trial
something that really hepled me with wyvern, it parrying him is tricky, then spam pause. you can find what frame to parry on, and go on from there.
Thanks this has helped me so much
Glad it helped! :)
I beat it first try after watching this. This video is honestly a godsend
I’m glad I was able to help dude!
Thanks man I finally beat this using your stats I beat it in 2 tries
06:27 all this time I kept watching the tail, he just goes so fast i never saw the claws, always thought it was a tail swipe
After like 10 attempts i just turned off ring loss and had a blast beating the crap out of the titans
Thank You ❤❤
Moment I get to knight I just get killed by spikes, I had 160 rings, I’m so done I don’t wanna keep trying
If you play frontiers on the switch. So for switch players I recommend playing the trial in handheld mode. The game is alot smoother that way so it's a little easier to see the parry windows.
wyvern i found the electric balls are jumpable so you can stay in cwnter lane an just jump... and that all 3 can cancel your quick parry
