No I think is just about focus and win we ask for this so I not complaining at all But I am on extreme mode for this so I am going to take a lot of time
Depends on what you mean by worst, if you mean poorly designed this depends on the player’s actual familiarity with the game if you are talking about difficulty it’s right up there next to the Eggmanland hotdog challenge
I’m glad to see pretty much everyone agrees this is just flat out unfair, but the fact they expect this level of perfection especially with Wyvern the one boss in the game that has rings during the battle is just it’s ridiculous
Exactly dude this so hard and I'm easy difficulty and the perfect parry sucks d*** man and the when you get the recovery time takes so long wasting time and rings
@@kingpanguanHard mode sonics parry is a frame perfect back hand, on easy sonic can hold the parry pose for ~2 seconds. The difficulty only changes this though so it's still hard.
We didnt want to replay bosses in the dlc tho. Why more repetitive gameplay in an already repetitve game. Its so flat out blring that its not even fun. This game is so dissapointing...
The fact that he had to be on the easier difficulty to record this is insane. He probably would've never recorded this for us and beat it if he'd done it on hard, so respect.
Dude I didn't realize what you meant til I tried it. The window for the perfect parry is shorter the higher the difficulty is? Unnecessary is an understatement for that little detail
I feel like a primary reason why this trial is so enraging is because you have to also get the last emerald to actually start the fight. This, ESPECIALLY with Whyvern, just feels like it's adding unnecessary stuff to do, and it REALLY adds up the more times you fail the trial.
Seriously. I never realized the bad stuff in the main bosses until after fighting them back to back 15-20 times with basically little to no rings. And as far as I can tell, there are no differences in changing modes.
On top of every tower, there is a switch. This switch allows you to use a zip line to get all the way to the top from all the way at the bottom. Then you can just use the zip line and repeat any trials you want.
@@LilXancheXThere's a difference between fun/fair hard and bullshit hard. I don't mind the idea of Perfect Parry (works as expected against The Supreme End since you're mostly parrying projectiles which DO get deflected upon contact), but the first three Titans were NOT designed with it in mind! The timing on most of their attacks (especially Wyvern's) don't match the attack animations unlike most other games that have a parry or "Witch Time" thing where you parry when the attack is about to connect. The Titans' attacks not being well-telegraphed was acceptable in the base game since the parry isn't dependent on timing, just holding the buttons down. But now that the parry IS dependent on timing, you have to figure out the rather awkward timing on when to parry each of the titans' attacks and some really don't make sense when viewing the animations. I'd want a challenge like this to come back in a future 3D title, but the parry timing has to be fixed because why would my parry not work when I use it just before something like Giganto's claw swipe hits me, yet it works when the claw already made impact a half-second ago?
@@georgecortes3416 yeah i get what you mean. But it’s not impossible. You just have to time your parry right and keep it consistent. The level is not impossible but near unbeatable. That’s the kind of difficulty we need in sonic games! Bring back sonic 2 last level type of difficulty! And they did it just right. They knew it would be near impossible but not completely impossible and they delivered. The difficulty is what makes this dlc worth playing. It tells you “you will never beat this game. Give up. You are nothing. You will never be anything” and makes you wanna prove it wrong
@@LilXancheXNo! You don't understand. It's NOT consistent. You have to trial and error the timings because you can't get it right by looking. For example, Wyvern's swings can be parried when the arm is nowhere near you but Giganto's attacks must be parried when his arms are right up close to you
Alright here’s my crash course on how to get through this: First of all set the difficulty to easy, now your parry window is 1 full second, although these strategies will mainly focus on the normal/hard/extreme experience, because they’re gonna need some extra explanations for timing at the such, just note that on easy you can hold the parry way before the others in easy. ONE MORE THING: you can rotate the left stick on any mash X quick time events! I recommend you both mash and rotate the left stick so in particular on the giganto fight you can get through the qtes with minimal loss of rings! Giganto- alright so the core strategy is gonna be to cyloop the boss because a titan trapped in the cyloop takes a lot more damage. After cylooping them do the cross slash to quickly get phantom rush going. Then punch them once or twice then stomp, then punch them once or twice, then stomp. Repeat that until their health stops moving as it locks up waiting for the second phase to trigger. Then repeat the previous strategy with the second phase. Using the cyloop will stop them from triggering any of the qtes meaning much less time will be lost from its qtes as if done well enough you should take him out in one set of the cyloop. Do remember that you can rotate the left stick for any mash segments. *IMPORTANT WARNINGS* With the spin attack the hitbox of it appears almost after the spin. Due to this if your unsure of your ability to parry the spin, fly away from him then go back to him and continue the strategy. Although you shouldn’t really be encountering this attack if your doing this strategy right. On the second phase after cylooping him he will always try and attack you once while in the air. Wyvern- so first phase the approach is very similar to giganto. Of course you first have to parry the rockets then his main attack, with the rockets just hold the buttons while it’s only about a meter away. For his main attack the time to press it for the hard/extreme people is, when thinking about the time in between when its arm is fully razed to when its hitting sonic, press it when its in the last quarter of the swing.(for normal and easy players you have much more wiggle room, normal players can probably just wait till the beginning of the swipe and easy players can go even before that) Cyloop, cross slash, punch, stomp, repeat previous two moves until phase two. Speaking of phase two, cylooping is no longer worth it as wyvern immediately breaks out of it and even tries to attack you again. So still use the same strategy, just skip the the cyloop part. *IMPORTANT WARNINGS* First of all, remember that with its main attack after you deflect a rocket it now swipes at you twice now and swipes faster. With the first attack parry it when its in about the same position you would parry it in the first stage, with the second, parry it when its halfway to hitting sonic. Also now the damage phase is MUCH shorter so be careful, their gonna try and hit you with their tail and the attack hits you much later than you think as they hit you with a little flick of the end of their tail. After that really try and take them down before they do their their third counterattack as its a very, very quick attack, and with the grand slam try and use it right at about the end of the second damage phase, especially you extreme players as it will send them back to the chase part of the fight afterwards, meaning you don’t deal with the nearly instant laser attack. If your on hard through easy you can more safely try and parry the attack knowing you won’t literally instantly die if it hits you. Knight- ok so for the first phase you can attack him while he’s circling around you. But only really basic hits if your lucky some of your special moves. That’s pretty jank but basically just spam random attacks when its near. When he actually goes to attack I’m not to sure on the timing but it seems to be in a final flick of the sword, similar to wyerm’s tail(my apologies extreme mode players for me not knowing the timing proper here) although I was able to much more easily sight read the attack for when to parry so hopefully you can do something similar. Should you make it to the shield, make sure to use the quick step in either direction after hitting the sheild a couple times. Make sure to immediately cyloop knight as on both phases he has no counter attack after being cylooped. After a successful cyloop do the whole cross slash, punch, stomp from earlier. For the second phase I’m gonna a put here an *IMPORTANT WARNING FOR EXTREME PLAYERS* keep in mind that this fight is gonna be rather janky for you as his main attack is inconsistent on whether it kills you or not, but something that is guaranteed to kill is the shield in the second phase so absolutely watch out for it! For the rest of you just mess with the timing until you get it. Once you hit it into knight, use the same old strategy we’ve been using the whole time. Then finally cut the son of a gun in half and claim your victory! Do tell me if you think I’m missing something important or have gotten something wrong, I’ll edit this with the correct information.
If you play this challenge on hard it’s a nightmare. > You have to get a perfect parry every time > Deal with the weak damage output you give > Deal with BS time consuming Wyvern and Knight gives you when running around. > Win all your fights in 100-130 rings. Only hardcore players can get this done
@@aaronmoreno961 I don't know if I can even complete it on extreme mode. But I also don't want to go back and do everything again just to play on a lower difficulty. Edit: I had to play on a lower difficulty so I had a longer parry. And even still I was getting hit and if I was on extreme I would have lost. Easily the hard video game level I've ever done
Honestly, even just upping your ring count to 800 or even 600 would make this challenge a lot more manageable. With just 400 rings you need to play optimally just to have a chance, so giving you more rings and time would actually let you make mistakes.
At this point of the game the titans should be fodder for you and stats have nothing to do with it as Sonic is actually balanced out in this fight for everyone if you don’t mind me asking exactly what part are you getting stuck on
@@monkeydluffy5054 yeah you know it was the sonic fans that ask for this That why is there 🤣 But I am doing this on extreme mode so I am going to get my ass kicked many times
Yeah it’s bullshit I had a whole rant but I decided not to post so instead I’m just going to let you know there is someone out there who agrees with you it is very painful and I 100% agree.
I think that the Ring capacity should be raised based on what difficulty you're playing. Extreme could have the 400 rings, hard would have 500, normal 600 and easy 700.
@SoulFrostDXeasy mode makes it fun but the other difficulty’s (Prove me wrong) just aren’t possible especially with the beginning of the knight boss and with the shield and the missiles that’s just a waist of time
@@WeAllNeedH2Oi did the trial in Extreme, so it's not impossible but just really difficult the only thing that is required though is TONS of practice with the parry windows
Pro tip: you deal insane amount of damage If you cyloop the titans once or twice in a row, think for giganto is once then attack as much as possible, for wyvern two times and for knight one. Good luck!
Oml, thanks for this tip! I’m finishing off the bosses way faster than I previously did now, and so it might actually be possible to beat this agonizing challenge.🥲Hopefully. Wyvern is by far the worst since you have to wait until either attacks or uses missles to strike it, and so there’s just plenty of wasted time.
yeah wyvern is the most annoying tbh, interstingly enough i discovered this while fighting wyvern tryn to see if they added more cool animations for the cyloop@@amirgarcia547
Thanks for the video, had a feeling that I was missing some tricks to make the fights faster. Also apparently the perfect parry timing window is more generous than I thought.
This perfect parry thing might’ve been what was going on with Knuckles when I tried to fight some of the guardians on the new island. He kept suddenly releasing the parry before one of the ninjas attacked.
The Game WAS Going To Have A Perfect Parry Back In Development, But Bc Playtester Deemed It "Extremely Difficult", They Changed To Be A Very Broken Parry
Was on this challenge ALL DAY. Finally made it to Knight with a decent amount of rings and then *LOST* half of them at the beginning when the spikes came up.. and I’m doing it all on easy mode. Sigh. I swear this shit is impossible.
As a person who got all s ranks on every boss rush it is very frustrating that im struggling this badly on this i set it to easy and its still painful to get through
@@DarkLink1996. true, it's the big ring drainer, it's why normally they give you rings for that boss. Even if they only gave you rings during that fight I feel it wouldn't be as difficult
Pro Tip: Quick cyloop and stomp. This applies to all bosses. Giganto and Knight are quite manageable. Giganto is pretty easy. Just wail on him for a bit until the cyloop bar is full, then cyloop and stomp him. Just remember to parry during the second phase because Giganto will attempt to smack you while in the air. Wyvern is easily the hardest because of all the waiting you have to do. He's there to waste your time before tackling Knight. Optimizing Wyvern is essential. Honestly, the missiles are the hardest part. Some missiles are there to throw you off. Just pay attention and parry when one gets close. Cyloop once only in the first phase because you'll need a full cyloop bar for Knight. Just parry and stomp Wyvern in the second phase. Knight is manageable as long as you don't panic. If you've optimized Wyvern, you should have 200-150 rings left. He's pretty easy. DON'T ATTACK THE SHIELD. Quick step Knight's shield and you'll bypass it. Hit him a few times, then quick cyloop and stomp him. The second phase is pretty much the same thing. Just parry the shield into the Knight's face. If you miss, don't worry. Once you hit him with the shield, you're good.
The problem here its wyvern, its a damn bullet hell, if you fail to parry one rocket from the start you're done for, and need to reset WHY THERE'S NOT A RING REFRESH!?
I beat it on hard and although its a pain in the ass to fight Wyvern you dont have to land every single parry in every fight, with the stomp and cyloop combo I was managing to get to knight with 140 rings which, if skipping the shield phase its more than enough to fight him. After beating Giganto I end up with 320-267 rings so about 180 rings for Wyvern. Its hard but dont lose hope, take your time to memorize the swipe attacks and when they are supposed to land, they are pretty consistent, if you dont parry them then your timing is off, I learned it the hard way
@@BigGreen945 This is for people who want a challenge. That's why Frontiers is still exactly the same and this is an optional ending. I'd agree if this replaced the ending, but this is entirely optional in terms of completing the story and getting all achievements.
My reaction to this Mission: OOH, I GET TO DO GIGANTO, AND IS ACTUALLY DIFFICULT, LETS GOOO *beats it Wow, this was so cool, alright, next tower Wait, i gotta fight wyvern too? Is this a boss rush? Well, lemme just cyloop to get more... WTF *Proceds to fail every single parry and die

@maomax8922 Well, my game is currently on hard, and I kept getting on Wyvern with 200 coin left from Giganto. Hopefully "normal" mode will at the least make this trial manageable now that I have some insight to how perfect parry works and how long I need to beat each boss. Just have to be done with other things first before trying again.
In fact, I tried to press the buttons several times so that the hedgehog would parry many times, but sometimes it doesn't always work, especially at times when the Wyvern shoots missiles or strikes itself

@@Caio1223 just in timing. No need spamming the button. When you holding, Sonic automatically do animation when you stop holding buttons, better just press the party in timing like a real parry on other games
The fact wyvern practically becomes a bullet hell with a single fail messing up the entire attempt is annoying and is the reason I haven’t even gotten to knight yet
If it wasn't for Wyvern this wouldn't be nearly as bad. The main issue is there's no way to tell when you're supposed to parry so you just gotta guess. Switched the game to easy and managed to beat it first try but these things should have been tested before hand.
My main issue with Wyvern are the missiles that he shoots. He shoots out so many and they go in all sorts of directions so it makes hard to tell which missile is closing in on you first.
They did release a patch update about a month or two ago. On Easy mode, you now have 600 rings. The parry is more forgiving on normal and hard difficulty.
What I find hilarious is that people net this trial as a skill issue. When let’s put it like this. 1: Most Titan Attacks specifically Giganto are not properly telegraphed meaning avoiding the attacks to keep pace is very hard requiring you to play more of a cat and mouse game, which results in MORE time lost, most Giganto attacks when you are close Are around 12 frames, that’s 0.2’s to react. 2: The Parry window is so unbelievably tight that most attacks that come out fast, but slow down for a moment can completely mess up the timing. 3: Having less than 300 rings by the time you reach wyven, the run is dead in the water immediately, meaning the giganto fight becomes RNG and luck dependent, which no amount of skill can resolve. 4: The game fails to give potential tips for those who are casual players who reach this trial. Cause this trial will utterly decimate players returning to the game to see the new update. I do NOT wanna hear the excuse of ‘just replay the game lol so you won’t have this issue’ A player should not have to replay a 8 to 6 hour long story just to get reacquainted, players should not have their hands held yes, but tips aren’t hand holding, it’s advice, big difference. 5: They completely out of nowhere change how the parry functions only for this specific trial, when players have subconsciously trained themselves to hold the buttons. This level of tomfuckery completely fucks with any players sense of control, I’m all for trial and error, trust me I played and completed a Hat in Times seal the deal’s contracts including all the EX fights. But at least when the rules were changed they were properly conveyed but DIDNT change how the PLAYER CONTROLLED CHARACTER Functioned
@@ChaoticJester I’d rather them have a system in place to only give an increment of the rings you lost back, I see why they made it hard, it’s unfortunately unjustifiably hard, but I’d also think giving us 100 rings is too much, I’d say the minimum being 80
Thank you so much for this comment. I'm so sick of the comments saying "sKiLL IsSuE☝️🤓" when it's 100% a design issue from the devs. I genuinely hope they'll fix this cuz I went from "getting excited to play the DLC" to "wanting the DLC to end just cuz I'm tired of it". I'm sorry but the DLC is not fun to me.Only tiny part of it is fun.The rest is just irritating
Honestly, once you really get the parry timings down - it’s not SO bad. However it’s flat out STUPID you can lose your rings before you even fight the fucking titan. I have failed so many times because knight hit me before I even got onto his damn arm and I wanted to cry each time.
This gotta be the hardest challenge, like ever in Sonic history. Or Sonic Frontiers history. But this video really helped me. Knight was the most challenging for me.
Even on easy mode, this challenge is unfair beyond belief!! I mean, raising the difficulty for a special challenge is one thing but taking on 3 titans with no more and no less than 400 rings??! And on top of that you can’t even hit as hard as you did when you progressed through the regular story mode. I don’t know if it’s just me, but this feels like an intentional cheap shot. You basically have to forget everything you think you know about how to play the game. Update: I finally beat the challenge. And let me just say this. Cylooping helps tremendously with landing more combos because it immobilizes them leaving them wide open for more combo attacks. Especially with Giganto and Knight. It’s a little bit harder to handle with Wyvern but it definitely helps in its first phase. I vaguely remember but I finished with 103 rings to spare.
Yes, and the fact that it’s not even entire different game mode where you have to switch up your moves. They just gate keep you with a very short time every other time you missed the perfect p you waste about 6 to 7 seconds waiting for another opportunity all around this update was disappointing. I’m definitely not finishing it.
On easy it’s doable. They give you extra time to perfect parry and once you learn a proper method like cyclooping and quick stomping you’ll get by. It’s actually the hard difficulty this trial is unfair since you will deal a little less damage and parry window is reduced to perfect frame instead of 3 second. I don’t even have to explain how crazy unfair this trial is to extreme players. Hats off to any one who did beat this trial on extreme mode.
Okay, I finally got to the Knight with a semi-healthy amount of 131! Screw the challenge, I’ve been playing on Easy and have been using your guide, and its staying that way! Edit: Nope. Couldn’t cut it. Farthest I’ve gotten, though. Not giving up. 2nd Edit: YES!!! I GOT IT! I timed my shield hits properly, then finished Knight with a freaking Cyloop hold at around 39 Rings!!!
I was a mix of sad, mad, annoyed, wanting to put down the game for a long time and just play another fun hard game instead of this unfair weird challenge. And here, I thought it was because I had skill issue, and I was shocked to see that even hardcore players and players who have beaten this game on the hardest difficulty before the update were raging on this.
I mean, having this as a mandatory roadblock instead of an optional challenge? This is cruel! And it kinda feels the difficulty settings don’t even make a difference
Without a doubt the most insufferable Sonic experience, it’s just so unfair. They should’ve made the ring count higher at least. For anyone still playing, you can change the difficulty to easy to get a longer parry time.
This should not be a requirement in order to beat the main story. It should've been a side challenge. I don't think that this update was properly playtested between the extremely overpowered Guardian bosses and this king Master Koco Challenge being a requirement.
You should've seen my face when I saw that you had to beat all THREE of them in one go. Originally i thought they would do like the four first towers, id have to beat them all one at a time, on different towers and use the perfect parry and whatever. I finished Giganto with 179 rings left, and once i saw the second boss with my ring count not refreshed, i restarted immediately. Its not bad, just incredibly hard and it sucks that the rest of the game is locked behind this joke of a challenge...😢
I completed the trial thanks to you but I want to add some pointers that will make this extremely easy. Finished it on my 2nd attempt just to show how easy it can be. 1st attempt, the Knight got me with it’s AOE moving around the arena. I somehow avoided it by running to the edge of the arena but keep in mind it may still be possible for it to hit you but for me, it didn’t. IDRK what to do to avoid it other than either staying under him or running to the edge and praying it doesn’t hit you. I believe you can parry to catch yourself from losing rings or boost. I was able to parry the spikes when he slammed his hand down to give myself extra time to hop on and start the fight. Now thats out of the way: The key strategy you’re gonna wanna do is cyloop and Cross Slash. From what I’ve learned, in the cyloop, you do double damage and Cross Slash is EASILY the highest and fastest DPS move to offer. Combine the two and your fight can be finished within a minute or less. (Wyvern will obviously take the longest because you need to parry it before you can even attack so…good luck with that. What makes it easier for Wyvern is pay attention to the lightning bolt Sonic has as this will show you when to parry if you’re on easy.) You ONLY want to do Y+B (On Xbox) when their health is as low as it can go or else you will restart the chase sequence for Wyvern which is a pain and the shield parry with Knight. Be cautious when cylooping on 2nd phase because they can attack and attempt to knock themselves out of the cyloop. Everyone is using the attack stomp combo and that mostly works outside the cyloop but when you’re inside it, spam Cross Slash. You can initiate it against even in the middle of the move to refresh the DPS. Do not use Homing Shot because it wastes too much time and don’t bother with any other move. They’re too slow and weak. Now, for Giganto and Knight Giganto: For the laser, just spam the parry button and you will not have to do the button mashing. Did it multiple times and not once did I have to do it. Do it AS HE’S FIRING IT, Not after! People warned to prepare for his attack as if successful, Giganto will try to knock you back. On 2nd phase, when trying to cyloop, Giganto will try to knock you back (and assume this for Wyvern and Knight because I had varying results). Outside Cyloop, attack and stomp. Inside cyloop, Cross Slash. If lucky, you’ll have over 300 rings for Wyvern. I had between 330 and 350. As you climb Giganto, climb it from the front. It’s the fastest and IMO the safest route to the emerald. Wyvern: I have no specific strategy because this boss will be THE TRICKIEST to parry against and you NEED to do it in order to fight it. To fight it ASAP, you need to parry the missile it fires. On 1st phase, it will attack only once. Parry it, attack, then try to cyloop it before it attacks again. Once its cylooped, spam Cross Slash. Managed to get it into phase 2 on that 1 cyloop alone. Phase 2, it will attack 2, sometimes even 3, times. Worst is it can fire a laser. Just parry or pay attention to the lightning Sonic emits and you’ll be fine. Be weary that phase 2, attempting to cyloop it can cause it to attack you (It will and assume it will). As you do QTEs, that means its either done or its just about. I should’ve put this first but as you ascend the tower, do a homing shot on the 3 enemies as if you don’t have your cyloop recharged, those 3 enemies will fill a portion of it. As you run on the crimson road, TAKE YOUR TIME! The time limit doesn’t start until you get the chaos emerald. Also, STAY IN THE MIDDLE! That way, you can side to the left or right easily. Knight: before this fight even starts, just know this jerk can end your career by spinning around the arena with spikes trailing behind it and then slamming the ground with its hand leaving a spike wave. The wave can be parried BUT depending on the difficulty, I wouldn’t risk it unless its on easy OR you have good parrying skills. I ran to the edge of the map in hopes its spike trail wouldn’t get me and luckily it didn’t (I can’t confirm if this is 100% safe). As the fight starts, know that when it puts its shield up, you can sidestep it and skip sending the shield back to it in a barrage of missiles. Once you can cyloop, do that then spam Cross Slash. 2nd phase, you’re gonna need luck and early positioning meaning try to parry the shield as soon as the knight is close to it. Luck because the Knight’s movements are random (at least it seems so to me). Once hit, try to get your cyloop going ASAP because its going to attack and restart the shield sequence if you don’t successfully parry it. Keep in mind once cylooped, it will attempt to attack to get out of the cyloop. Prepare to parry or pay attention to Sonic’s lightning chain. Spam cross slash and the fight should be just about over. Follow the QTE and MASH THE BUTTON cause if you don’t mash it fast enough, you can fail RIGHT as the fight is about to end. Once Sonic kicks the sword, the fight is done and you can enjoy the show
Shit is not going to help you can perfect everything and get fucked once by the night and have everything gone I say update the game and will still play. You had one job Sega and you fucked up. You fucked up

Thank God im not the only one who thought this shit was unfair. Even for sonic standards. I legit had a lot of fun with this DLC (so far im still stuck on this bull). Even the towers were a really fun challenge with the trials, especially. But God, im sorry, but this was my breaking point. The amount of rings they lend you for all 3 of these guys is a joke. Sorry my hard difficulty bros]
@@xiswarmin yeah I just beat it also the final final boss is indeed awesome I didn't beat it yet but it looks awesome let's just say they wanted you to practice perfect parries for a reason
This trial even on easy is still damn near hard because the moment you miss any amount of rings or miss an action/get hit back you basically have derailed the whole trial and theres no prompt to ask to lower the trial difficulty unlike previous trials
Is it me or is the Cross Slash move really temperamental in this challenge? I swear it doesn't work half the time. As for the difficulty, I really hope they patch this.
Playing as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails was amazing in this DLC, but every single solitary second where you play as Sonic is pure torment. The only thing SEGA has made that was worse then the towers and challenges is Classic Sonic.
Something I saw in the video but was not mentioned, During Knights Ground phase (what I call the part where you get the chaos emerald) they didn't move much and managed to avoid all the spikes from when he's zipping around. I didn't notice this initially and kept getting hit here, but the moment I stopped moving, I not only got past it with over 200 rings, it also was the run that I managed to beat the challenge on. Also, when Knight holds up his shield in phase 1, you can avoid the riding part by whacking the shield, then side stepping. This changes lock on to his head and lets you wallop him a bit, you don't get much time so using a quick psyloop as soon as possible is a must. NOTE: In knight phase one, parrying his sword sends him into block mode, so parry sword, hit shield 2-3 times, side step, whack head, use quick psyloop when available. One more tip, for Wyvern, I find that hitting the parry buttons the moment I can see his claws (around the 8:37 minute mark for example) has, in 99% of cases, gotten me the parry. To parry his tail follow up, just keep an eye at the bottom of the screen and parry when you can see his tail (around 10:06). He does have a third follow up he can do not shown here, all you really have to do is not parry immediately, wait like 1 second and then try parrying it. its hard to describe it without a visual. As for Giganto, I didn't change too much from here. Whack Whack stomp, whack whack stomp, parry. I will note however that when their hp is at zero and its on its knees, you do need to hit it one more time to activate the cutscene of Sonic finishing em off. Thats all I can think of for now, hope this helps someone 🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚
I need to write this as its own comment. @BeardBear played it on Easy because Parry timings depend on which difficulty you play on. On Hard (which I played until this trial) 'Perfect Parry' is practically frame-perfect. With the amount of not well telegraphed attacks, unless you figured out the timings, its almost impossible to complete it. I could not get past wyvern bcs while I could consistently parry rockets, her attacks are too hard to tell when to parry. It made me switch to easy and I can tell that parry timings differences clear as day and night.
I was on hard and it wasn't too bad. Usually when the white line appeared, I'd be able to hold it. But during the second phase of wyvern, I just don't see it so I dunno when to parry
I just beat this after like 3 hours. This challenge needs to be nerfed. Either reduce how fast you lose rings in this challenge or add a higher ring cap. Because this is borderline unfair.
Initially i thought this crap was super unfair, but if you learn the super cyloop it really trivializes the whole thing, i beat the whole rush with 127 rings left
@@user-fj4ih2uk9o He means the Quick Cyloop ability. It's very useful to dish out a lot of damage quickly against the Titans without having to worry about them attacking or moving around quite as much. They'll still have a chance of attacking you while they are caught in the Cyloop, so you need to be prepared to parry to avoid that. This ability is especially useful against Wyvern, since you don't have to waste as much time "chasing" after it while waiting for the missiles to arrive.

To be honest, I had a lot of fun on normal difficulty on this DLC, but when I reached this trial, I could not beat it, even on easy difficulty feels impossible. Then I just gave up, this part feels too unfair.
Sega and Sonic team really got tired of players complaining of their games being either too easy or short. This is their revenge against those who have complained over their years. It is hard as balls man.
Same I actually love that they made this update hard I love difficult games but they should update it at least a tiny bit for newcomers I personally don't mind this huge difficulty spike but others do so yea
@hi-gk2il yes I am aware of that part it took 4 tries for me to get the timings down and beat the trials I don't hold the parry down in the normal game I loved timing it I guess I just got use to it
This is frustrating asf, but it's really fun to come back to after you've beaten it and mastered the Perfect Parry. Also, I feel like hating myself, so one day I'll probably do this on Extreme.
This is incredibly painful. I’m a casual player, so I’m not the best at the game. I had to set it to easy mode to beat these titans, but whenever I get to knight I’m only left with around 70 rings. It would be helpful if they added a ring reset
I really enjoyed the towers! It’s the having to redo the red running path before Wyvern each time in the Master Trial that kills me, makes reattempts so much more tedious.
I know everyone calls this trial unfair and all I have to say is ITS TRUE. Especially for extreme players(me), not only is the parry window nonexistent, but the worst part is that you can't change the difficulty basically condeming you to the 9th stage of hell. I'm genuinely afraid that I and many others would have to resort to erasing all of our data to start a new game thats not on extreme mode just to have a chance to progress to the ending. This is especially painful for me since before the update I spent several hours into 100% the game.
Don’t give up. Keep going. I made it as far as 1/2 of Wyvern’s health on extreme. I just want to keep going because it’s fun, despite how hard it is. I among others asked for difficulty and we got it, can’t complain about getting what I wished for. What I didn’t wish for was “Perfect Parry.” People who want that should go play devil may cry. On extreme difficulty, major props to sega for finally making something harder than Game Gear Sonic 2 and Eggmanland.
@MiguelMartinon Oh, don't get me wrong, I actually like the difficulty spike of the dlc as a whole. But this specific challenge forces you to learn a mechanic that wasn't taught to you throughout the game. Especially the fact that the game wasn't really built for a perfect parry system in mind. Edit: I finally beat Giganto
So our rings *don't* refresh, we *don't* have our upgrades, we can get hit and end up dropping roughly *more than half* of our rings before we even get to the Emeralds to transform, and on top of having to start from the very beginning if we fail the trial. If I wanted to play a game that would infuriate me, I would play Elden Ring. *Not Sonic Frontiers*.
Just got to this bit and fuck me its beating my ass, the perfect parrys for the wyvern are easily the hardest thing, that and the ring count, had about 70 rings which I could have maybe got Knight with then got done by his ground attack before the actual fight and got knocked down to 11 😂😂
In all honesty I like a challenge. And this one in particular challenged me like you wouldn’t believe I beat this on normal after 20 something tries. The lowest phase I failed was on a glitch of the Wyvern Runway as it didn’t land me on its head but if that glitch don’t count then the 2nd phase of Wyvern was my lowest.
To hopefully win just spam the stomp attacking and quick cyloop them also for vywvern or whatever some you wanna spam parry for the missles it doesnt always work but it sometimes does
@SoulFrostDX Yes. Even in Easy mode. The longest it lasts is shown in my latest Short as Sonic. Even in Easy mode, it lasts for like 5 frames as all the new characters
@user-rd6zt2hi7rUsing quick cyloop makes Giganto and Wyvern no problem but then by the time you get to Knight, you’re lucky if you have even half of your rings left
To beat giganto without losing 100 rings. When the fight starts, boost towards him, then spam stomp attack untill he attacks, parry that attack, then grand slam. He will try to counter attack while getting up from grand slam, parry that and grand slam. Repeat grand slamming him for as long as possible. If the grand slam chain stops, use quick cycloop and spam stomp attack. Do this for phase one and try to do it for phase two. Giganto should get clapped. For the other bosses, grand slam and stomp attack are your best friends. For Wyvern, parry his missiles that get up close, then use quick cycloop and spam stomp attack. That should bring you to the second phase, or at least close. Repeat for the second phase. It's pretty much the same thing for Knight.
Just beat this trial on Normal. Didn't expect that simply forcing Perfect Parry would make the Titans even more exciting than they already were. Love this trial. There are a few things I would personally change though: 1) 500 ring capacity would be nice. Or maybe a 100 ring between one of the battles 2) Just remove the pre-fight platforming man. They're easy enough that I never get hit during any of them, it's just a giant waste of time. Lemme get back into the fight faster.
Nope I loved this trial was challenging and was on the edge of my seat I hope future sonic games are made difficult or are at least given a difficulty setting cus this game really out did itself it went from a B tier to S in my book
Thanks for the tips in this this def wasn't easy @_@ not even on easy mode On the plus side with all the practice from this the boss rush should be a cakewalk now lmfao
I beat it. After so many damn trial attempts I got to the point I had the perfect parry down pretty well and beat the whole thing with about 90 or so rings to spare. On hard mode too! 😁 Keep practicing folks. Perfect parry is hard af but it’s a skill that can be developed with lots of practice

I feel like a primary reason why this trial is so enraging is because you have to also get the last emerald to actually start the fight.
This, ESPECIALLY with Whyvern, just feels like it's adding unnecessary stuff to do, and it REALLY adds up the more times you fail the trial.
Exactly. Takes 3x as long just to do Wyvern's intro than it does to fight Giganto.

I never realized the bad stuff in the main bosses until after fighting them back to back 15-20 times with basically little to no rings. And as far as I can tell, there are no differences in changing modes.

For example, Wyvern's swings can be parried when the arm is nowhere near you but Giganto's attacks must be parried when his arms are right up close to you
Alright here’s my crash course on how to get through this:
First of all set the difficulty to easy, now your parry window is 1 full second, although these strategies will mainly focus on the normal/hard/extreme experience, because they’re gonna need some extra explanations for timing at the such, just note that on easy you can hold the parry way before the others in easy.
*IMPORTANT WARNINGS*
With the spin attack the hitbox of it appears almost after the spin.
*IMPORTANT WARNINGS*
First of all, remember that with its main attack after you deflect a rocket it now swipes at you twice now and swipes faster.
For the second phase I’m gonna a put here an
*IMPORTANT WARNING FOR EXTREME PLAYERS*
keep in mind that this fight is gonna be rather janky for you as his main attack is inconsistent on whether it kills you or not, but something that is guaranteed to kill is the shield in the second phase so absolutely watch out for it!

Other trials were fine, just this one is where it would be nice to have them imo.
Imagine if you had all the rings and attacks fully upgraded in this. Would be 100 times better
If it wasn't for Wyvern this wouldn't be nearly as bad. The main issue is there's no way to tell when you're supposed to parry so you just gotta guess. Switched the game to easy and managed to beat it first try but these things should have been tested before hand.
Bro I’m on easy and I still can’t beat it after 2HOURS
@@arne4736 make sure you're using the cyloop.
My main issue with Wyvern are the missiles that he shoots. He shoots out so many and they go in all sorts of directions so it makes hard to tell which missile is closing in on you first.
@user-rd6zt2hi7rbro y’all wanted this😂
@@marson3000 That's true, my suggestion is to try spamming when you see some missiles getting close. Just hold it for a few seconds then repeat.
They better update this to add permanent parry or at least add checkpoints. This is just bullshit.
This update put the Parry's time limit in the *MAIN STORY.* Even in other parts of the game you can't hold it infinitely anymore
@@pvzmariosonica8fan Really? I tested it, and permanent parry still seems to work fine for me.
I hope they listen to the backlash and fix this
Fact. They better listen.
I do NOT wanna hear the excuse of ‘just replay the game lol so you won’t have this issue’
A player should not have to replay a 8 to 6 hour long story just to get reacquainted, players should not have their hands held yes, but tips aren’t hand holding, it’s advice, big difference.
But at least when the rules were changed they were properly conveyed but DIDNT change how the PLAYER CONTROLLED CHARACTER Functioned
number 1 basically describes my issues with the titans, but to be fair those attacks were probably built for that 15 second long parry
The best way to make this more manageable is to give you like 150-200 free rings after Giganto, then after Wyvern.
@@ChaoticJester I’d rather them have a system in place to only give an increment of the rings you lost back,
I see why they made it hard, it’s unfortunately unjustifiably hard, but I’d also think giving us 100 rings is too much, I’d say the minimum being 80
Thank you so much for this comment.
Did y’all know on the knight you don’t even have to attack his shield 💀 you can just go behind him and attack him lol

Changing the difficulty will increase parry time it seems, hard mode gives you absolutely no parry hold time.
Fr?
@@octane1zero.Changed my difficulty to easy and yes absolutely, it gives you more parey time
Honestly, once you really get the parry timings down - it’s not SO bad.
I’m definitely not finishing it.
cyloop is your lord and savior during these fights
On easy it’s doable. They give you extra time to perfect parry and once you learn a proper method like cyclooping and quick stomping you’ll get by.
It’s actually the hard difficulty this trial is unfair since you will deal a little less damage and parry window is reduced to perfect frame instead of 3 second. I don’t even have to explain how crazy unfair this trial is to extreme players. Hats off to any one who did beat this trial on extreme mode.
This isn't even hype or fun. I just feel dread knowing I'm not allowed to make a single mistake
This shouldn't be mandatory! I'd be okay with the difficulty if it was optional. I can't even get past it on easy.
Update 3 put such a bad taste in my mouth, I loved this game to death but now I'm just sad
Good job lol. I finished at 3 rings left
I've never felt as much sadness as I have doing this trial
Sadness? This trial has left me with rage.

They do but barely, Easy and Normal let you hold the parry longer, but not by much sadly.
Without a doubt the most insufferable Sonic experience, it’s just so unfair. They should’ve made the ring count higher at least.
For anyone still playing, you can change the difficulty to easy to get a longer parry time.
It’s still impossible on easy. What the fuck were they thinking?
@@i.e.4427They weren't thinking, I feel.
Now thats out of the way:
The key strategy you’re gonna wanna do is cyloop and Cross Slash. Now, for Giganto and Knight
Giganto: For the laser, just spam the parry button and you will not have to do the button mashing.
Once Sonic kicks the sword, the fight is done and you can enjoy the show
I found out that the lower the difficulty the longer the Parry window stays active
Shit is not going to help you can perfect everything and get fucked once by the night and have everything gone I say update the game and will still play. You had one job Sega and you fucked up. You fucked up
Damn bro i thought this game was easy. Im not gonna finish the second story with this unfair trial in the middle

This trial even on easy is still damn near hard because the moment you miss any amount of rings or miss an action/get hit back you basically have derailed the whole trial and theres no prompt to ask to lower the trial difficulty unlike previous trials
This makes 1-2 S rank look like green hill act 1
Is it me or is the Cross Slash move really temperamental in this challenge? I swear it doesn't work half the time.
As for the difficulty, I really hope they patch this.
Sonic understand their language with no problem. I wish we understand each other in different languages in the reality
Playing as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails was amazing in this DLC, but every single solitary second where you play as Sonic is pure torment.
The only thing SEGA has made that was worse then the towers and challenges is Classic Sonic.
It'll be worth it once you reach the final boss.
Thats all I can think of for now, hope this helps someone

Super cyloop?
@@user-fj4ih2uk9o He means the Quick Cyloop ability. It's very useful to dish out a lot of damage quickly against the Titans without having to worry about them attacking or moving around quite as much. They'll still have a chance of attacking you while they are caught in the Cyloop, so you need to be prepared to parry to avoid that. This ability is especially useful against Wyvern, since you don't have to waste as much time "chasing" after it while waiting for the missiles to arrive.

@@J-zf9gu congratulations on beating giganto
So our rings *don't* refresh, we *don't* have our upgrades, we can get hit and end up dropping roughly *more than half* of our rings before we even get to the Emeralds to transform, and on top of having to start from the very beginning if we fail the trial.
If I wanted to play a game that would infuriate me, I would play Elden Ring. *Not Sonic Frontiers*.
Just got to this bit and fuck me its beating my ass, the perfect parrys for the wyvern are easily the hardest thing, that and the ring count, had about 70 rings which I could have maybe got Knight with then got done by his ground attack before the actual fight and got knocked down to 11 😂😂
Yo my first attempt at this I had 8 rings left when I reached Knight and I got hit and only picked up three... well THAT was helpful 😂

And you can't even hold it infinitely in the main story anymore either...
@SoulFrostDX Yes. Even in Easy mode. The longest it lasts is shown in my latest Short as Sonic. Even in Easy mode, it lasts for like 5 frames as all the new characters
This was TOUGH!!!! But Completing it is Worth it

Dude same, I swear it's pure bullshit
My first attempt at this found me with 3 rings left by the time I reached Knight... eeeeyeah gonna have to practice a bit more on this one 😂😂
Just beat this trial on Normal. Didn't expect that simply forcing Perfect Parry would make the Titans even more exciting than they already were. Love this trial. There are a few things I would personally change though:
1) 500 ring capacity would be nice. Or maybe a 100 ring between one of the battles
2) Just remove the pre-fight platforming man. They're easy enough that I never get hit during any of them, it's just a giant waste of time. Lemme get back into the fight faster.
