- I finally beat Master King Koco's Trial Run on Extreme Mode. This for all of you out there who thought it would be a good idea to start this DLC on Extreme Mode. Hope you're able to get through and beat the DLC now! Had to use the weird cheese where if you hold only one of the bumpers, for some reason it just makes you invincible? Honestly I have no clue if this was intentional or not LOL.

Here's a video of the Extreme mode run for the Master King Koco Trial, but I couldn't have done it without the weird cheese. For some reason, if you press and hold one of the bumpers to parry, you will instead just avoid every attack on Wyvern LOL. I really hope this is able to help the unfortunate souls who played through the entire DLC on Extreme mode, and got stuck here.
Side Note: I restarted one of the test runs I was doing before, but because I've been on this for about 16 hours now, I had a brain fart and forgot to show the pause menu proving I am on Extreme Mode for the actual run itself, so I just kept the test run in as proof.

Ime pretty sure everyone agrees wyvern is the hardest titan in trial 5
I got a theory:
When you dodge as normal Sonic, you're invulnerable until the animation ends. And holding it will result in him doing it continuously until he hits a wall.
Wyvern's battle takes place in a chase sequence, and when you hold one of the dodge buttons long enough, you'll hit one of the invisible side walls (so that you don't go off course during the chase). Now normally, you can't dodge to the side when there's a wall beside you. But since Super Sonic is programmed to be continuously chasing after Wyvern, when you hit a wall, his dodging animation will instead freeze (meaning he is always dodging), which then results in infinite invulnerability.

HE USED AN EXPLOIT BY HOLDING DODGE AKD HUGGING THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN TO PREVENT TAKING DAMAGE
You don't even have to hug the corner of the screen.

I literally just beat that trial on Extreme Mode earlier today, lol. It took over 30 hours, but I am just SO glad it's over. Guess I better actually finish the DLC now, haha!

Honestly I wouldn't wish this trial on my worst enemy but congrats for beating it on extreme mode. I nearly lost my sanity while playing it on lower difficulty so I cannot imagine playing this trial on extreme mode
You actually managed to do it, congrats! Feels great to watch you finally pull it off after all those hours of struggle on stream! Also, that cheese will help me quite a lot if I decide to go for this myself, so thank you for that information!

Fun fact, you can add more cheese to the invincible dodging. If you suck at the perfect parry like me, you can mash the pause button over and over until right before the boss attacks and you can time the parry easier that way. You can also hold the invincibility while pausing so you can risk the perfect timing a bit easier

I’m on my like 60th attempt. The closest I’ve gotten was in the Knight Fight during the throwing spinnin’ shield section where I had to parry the shield back.
Edited: I did it, I’ve finally beaten it. Took me about 70-80 attempts.

Yeah haha, the game may try to lock you into place, but parry spam gets you out instantly!
I already beat Wyvern in Extreme without holding the bumper, but trying it again with it for new game plus, wow, he feels 300% easier now.

Bro i have done so many attempts and lost all of them because of the second boss and being forced to parry in order to attack. I almost beat him by doing stomp into triangle circle grab but i should have stomped twice because he was still alive and then i died later. Easily the hardest boss fight ive ever fought against and the main difficulty is the nerfs sonic receives. Congratulations on beating this level

You are an absolute madman. Coming from someone who just spent 24 attempts aka 3 hours without a break before I completed this trial I would have absolutely lost my ever loving mind. I already felt like I lost brain cells trying to perfect parry. I'm okay with not playing Frontiers for a few weeks now 😂 What I'm trying to say is I can't even fathom how you could do this on extreme, you have every ounce of respect from me 👌🤝

Ive been practicing this trial in hard mode so that i can do extreme mode in the future. FYI, and I mean no disrespect to your impressive skills, but you could've tried using the criss cross slash more to get through the fights faster. I know it's hard to spam, but I have confidence you can get the hang of it.

To my knowledge, the patch did not change it on extreme mode. 4 frames-that is all you get.

In many cases yes, Wyvern fight is the only exception
A few questions. Not sure if it works in console, but when giganto is about to swing when you cyloop him in his second phase. How can you move? It locks me in place until he hits. Not only that when your doing the weird glitch thing with wyvern the moment you let go do you die, or get a small window to parry?
Just saw the answer in another reply, plus tested it out for myself: you can move freely by parrying before Giganto attacks you

MAN I LOST MY DLC DATA AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME YKW I’M NOT PLAYING IT AGAIN AND THIS IS ALL BC OF THAT STUPID TRAIL I COULD’VE BEATEN THE GAME WITHOUT IT!
So for the Knight, you HAVE to party the shield. Oh boy…
Nah there is a way to beat Knight by not parrying at all.
In second phase go where knight is going in a circle, and spam the sonic boom projectile.
If you have 200 rings or above for this strategy, you can destroy knight second phase with the sonic boom projectile.

update: i have beatred battlte rush in s rank thinking id unlock both expert and extreme at the same time. NOPE, u gotta do it one att a time lol. Oh well, atleast i got tthe hardest ones out of tthe way. tho my only worry is (and i hope u see this), do u think im no longer able to gett expert difficulty now that ive went straightt for the S ranks? if so, tthen ill just use a new unused save file and do the whole thing from A to S rank. But for now ill see if i can use the same file and get A rank on it despite showing S rank

This is the hardest I ever played in Sonic games and impossible for me to win when Sonic only have 400 rings, can't get more rings after loosing rings and even have to start from beginning again when the player loose! Are there other alternate easy ways than just in easy mode to win this?
Just wondering, is it true that extreme mode has a tighter parry than hard mode for this trial? I've heard people say this but the in-game description of extreme quotes "you are locked on the hardest difficulty" which makes it sound like extreme mode *is* hard mode, just with added quirks.
Yep. It has a 4 frame window as opposed to hard mode's 8 frame window
I dunno if you're still reading comments from these videos but do you happen to know if the perfect parry feels any easier/harder between 30 fps (PS4 & Switch) and 60 fps (PS5 & PC)? I've been doing this challenge on my own for a couple months now (still pre-patch) and I'm curious if the PS4's extreme mode perfect parry feels like the PS5's hard mode perfect parry or if it feels like the same difficulty regardless of fps.

How do you move right after using quick cyloop in Giganto's second phase? For me I get locked there and my only option is to parry(unless I'm missing something).
How did you dodge the Wyvern claw swipes whats the strat

oh also, did you know, that if you lock onto the wyvern, you can just stomp and immediatley sidestep, and then stomp again? its almost exactly like giganto's thing

No its very different/difficult, you get put at level 1 strength, perfect parry (very short parry you can't really hold) 400 rings for all 3 titans, no ring refills, and extreme mode includes no hits or its a game over. And on extreme the parry window is 0.14 seconds 💀 [and if you fail at any point its a full restart on the trial]
King koco sucks because it doesn't give you a lot of rings

Mentioned in the pinned comment and description, but for some very weird reason, if you hold one of the parry buttons, that happens lol. I asked Kishimoto on Twitter if this was meant to happen or not, because while practicing for Extreme mode, I wanted to hold one bumper down so that if any projectile came at me, I would just have to tap the other and therefore my reactions would be much faster! Somehow I found out by doing that, you gain immunity to them lol
