Worst part for me is that this system doesnt seem to care about match stats. It doesnt care about dmg done, if your teammates go 2-13 or if they go afk. Its also quite stupid how fast you can get from huge win gains to huge lose loses.
i was last ranked supreme on csgo before cs2 came out and I peaked on global, after playing my 10 games and top fragging most of the games, (and only losing probably like 3 games) I got a rating of 1600. I stoped playing after that since I don't feel like grinding to get to a higher elo because it going to take so long to get to an appropriate rank. This is because even if I'm doing really well in the games I'm still only gaining a couple hundred each win, where as before in csgo I would play a couple of good games and climb the rankings quick. Also the people at the 1000 - 4000 elo range are completely random you have people who are new the cs2 and people who are insane at the game who clearly shouldn't be in that elo

I cant get out of 7k. 54% Wingate and over 100+ wins and I'm still stuck at 7k. How if im winning more games at 54%. Everytime I get into the 8k range, the loss out weighs the win elo gained and in a way solo player
There needs to be an entirely new well thought out system. It doesn't account for the variables in matches at all. AT BEST it can be decent after getting a fuck ton of data
I agree with the competence 10 wins per map being dumb asf, but for the elo system is should be like faceit, gain or loose practically the same for every lose or win, if you gain elo based of kills then role players won’t rank up nearly as fast
ive played competitively in a lot of games, and it shouldnt be fixed, you should be rewarded for doing good, that being said if you get 35 kills you shouldnt be penalised if you lose when you did good
This will never work... You'll just get people camping every round trying to get the most kills rather than win the game. You want the ELO to incentivize the end goal... winning the game. Not trying to get the most kills, individually. I actually stopped playing to get kills and instead played to win rounds, I jumped 5000 ELO to 14K because I focused on trying to win rounds only, put my ego aside.
Yeah good point, I still think that games should give and take a set amount of elo. But in some cases, it can feel ridiculous not being compensated properly when you drastically outperform everyone else. It should at least affect MMR at the bare minimum, allowing players to gain more elo in future games if they do exceptionally well. I should have mentioned this in the video, but the new idea of "promotion matches" doesn't really help this entire situation either, it just helps keep people stuck for even longer. Kinda scummy.
I used to be DMG in CSGO and now I'm hard stuck on Silver Elite Mirage. Silver competitive lobbies have such a huge skill gap it's not even funny anymore. Not to mention that hackers here don't even try to hide their hacks since there do not seem to be consequences for hacking anymore.
For MM I got silver elite master on mirage, I then moved on to premier out of pure salt. So far at 9700 and that's about right for me, but the inconsistency you see between players at the same level leaves me thinking this system needs more work.
i am decent player but not any good, played all 10 ranking matches soloque, was hell, lot of cheating, afks and way to many differences in skill level. Well I got 12k Elo lmao. Held that for a bit and then got -600 per game lost. WTF. I mean thats probably not the elo i belong to but im still pretty decent. Most of the times top frag but -600 while gaining +120 per win ? thats fucked. especially when u loose because u have afk, or two afk ...
So true, just had a guy on my team on Nuke who went 2 kills 24 deaths. Next match I was against him on Inferno and he was hitting running 1 taps with an AK with no care in the world to check anything.
this ranking system is so broken, sometimes you play against higher ranked opponents: -500 for losing +100 for winning sometimes enemy ranks are much lower: -100 for losing +500 for winning absolutely random.. not even how good you are counts since you know how many points you get in the beginning of the game

It's actually top 20%, so 20% of players have rank higher than his, whereas 80% have the same or lower This actually means that the skill relation gets squished downwards pretty heavily

It feels like if I improve greatly, the game immediately puts me against greater opponents, without rewarding me with greater MMR gains if i win.
