The vampires in Morrowind used to scare me. Because other than a few quests there was no way to know what caves or tombs held vampires and their sound distortion were so creepy. Plus their stats were so good they would be like the flash running at you growling with their purple health leeching magic in the dark and their faces.
After dabbling a few hours on Xbox over the years, I finally started a proper Morrowind character earlier this year, using PC. So I knew that going into random caves or tombs was a good way to get a taste of combat/exploration so I decided to enter a tomb i found in the hills somewhere around Gash. I entered and heard one of the vamps talk, thinking I had an audio bug, I reloaded and realised I had to continue my investigation. I had seen the bizarre version of khajiit in this game but I wasn't ready for what lay ahead. Out of nowhere this female vampire khajiit comes at me screaming in that horribly distorted way. Suffice to say I started casting Fire Bite constantly and didn't stop until there was silence. The sound was so horrifying to me that i just instinctively went into "burn em all with fire" mode
Haven't ever played a vampire in morrowind but they seem very interesting. Is it possible to cure and reinfect yourself multiple times in one play through?
I believe the cure for vampirism quest can only be completed once, so you could maybe do two quest lines in a single run. With console commands anything is possible though
Nope. If you cure vampirism you can never be turned into a vampire again. (You can still get hemophilia, or whatever the disease is called, but you won't become a vampire after 3 days). Also, after you cure Corprus during the main quest, you can't become a vampire either.
The aundae clan from context clues from the games and later titles indicates that the aundae are younger than quarra.. specifically it indicates that the vampire who turned aundae was Volrina herself, but did so by accident. It is why aundaes som became a vampire hunter to hunt down specifically the quarra vampires.. and was killed by kjeld.. aundae, in her own ties to her former humanity wants retribution and kjeld to die for this. Berne himself was a he one to turn volrina more than likely. Since she has a vendetta specifically against him.. berne clan, amusingly enough is the only clan that has no animosity towards the other clans.. and the aundae have no particular hate for the berne..
You may know the answer to this. If you max out your personality, speechcraft and mercantile, plus use a charm spell, will people talk to you and the merchants (or Telvanni merchants even) trade with you at all?
@@Gitshiver You are right. Got a new PC, got everything up to 100, potions to increase personality to riduculous levels, 100 on reputation with NPCs, charms used and so on, nobody will trade with you or offer services. Okay, the mages guild will not be hostile, nor were other people to be honest, the main difference was that if you have done something wrong and speak to a guard or they approach you they will give you no option other than defend yourself. No wonder vamps hide away in tombs far from people (but not too far...muhahaha).
Wait there's more clans than just these three? Please cover them in a video? I can't find anything on them. I love playing as a vampire to be honest. If it wasn't being locked out of 98% of quests, I'd stay as one. In Skyrim I'm glad the DLC fixed being a vampire. I hated walking in a town and everyone and their dead ancestors gunning to kill me almost instantly.
Honestly, vampire gameplay would be far better if it behaved like werewolf gameplay in that no one knows you're a vampire unless some tell is triggered, like wandering around a city without a full helm or whatnot. Being unable to do any non-vampire quests makes playing a vampire gradually boring despite the three clan mechanic being a cool concept.
I'd cast all that aside for Lichdom for UNLIMITED POWER !!!!!! plus with magic like illusion and alteration and mysticism im sure a lich could temporarily polymorph into a somewhat human form to shop and spend time around people.
I love that this is dedicated morrowind content. There is so much stuff that covers Skyrim and not enough that covers morrowind and also eso lore.
Thanks!
No, thank you! lol

I still have moments where I will run into a vampire in a cave or I didn't think there would be one and as soon as I hear them I jump lol
I'm 34 and am not totally comfortable doing sixth house quests at night

Top tier gaming experience for me
WOW GREAT episode! So much research behind this.

@KaoruMzk ...
Technically, that's not true as you can cast a weakness to disease spell on yourself and still catch the vampire disease.
Are you going to continue the Legion quest line? Great Halloween episode! Tamriel Rebuilt has great Legion quests.
Sure am, I'll eventually go hit all the mainland extensions too!
Oh yeah, it’s time to relax and enjoy this video!

My understanding is that there is a check for "is vampire=true" or something to that effect preventing access to services, but I could be wrong.
@@Gitshiver I suspect that is the case. I am going to start a new PC just to find out. Running OpenMW vanilla with no mods.

I'll definitely be covering the mainland Clans at some point as I'm going to be covering more Tamriel rebuilt content next year!
It would be good if it didn't damn your soul to cold harbour
Awesome intro . But personally I have this question but still I despise the vampires . And the choose is no! For death is is a release .

On my first playthrough I didn't know you could "join" these clans so I ended up massacring them all during my many, many, dungeon looting ventures.
It's one of those things you're never actually told, so that happens a lot!
Unmodded Morrowind as a vampire sucks ass, quite frankly.
But modded Morrowind as a Vampire?? Mandatory!
In unmodded morrowind imo it is best saved for the end of the game, but yeah much better to get a mod to allow you to play through more content as one

Becoming a lich definitely needs to be a thing!
