I love the way they animated him, i dont know the way he just glides so smoothly and elegantly is satisfying to look at.
They did a great job in how he looked.

He’s talking about how powerful the silver surfer is in the comics, but it’s been interpreted in this film very poorly. Like he said, a being that can harness cosmic energy, someone that literally took away the hulks powers because he annoyed him was beaten by some humans.

I dont get this. The moment they accurately adapt him theyll just be hate for how goofy he looks. This movie did an okay job, considering it was 2007 and the superhero scene hadnt reached the popularity it has now. A giant purple guy with a helmet wouldve been too goofy at this point
First half of this movie was good IMO, cause Silver Surfer seemed like a real threat that I had no idea how they gonna take down, it was tensed, at a time I knew nothing of Surfer as character.

Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer had issues but Silver Surfer was definitely not one of them, in fact he was the best thing about this Fantastic Four. He looked amazing and the CGI effects were incredible, i look forward to seeing him in the MCU one day where he gets the true justice he deserves

@@cronas2 the board was only part of the Surfer as his way of flying through space, he got his power cosmic from Galactus which the movie failed to mention plus we all know that he's one of the powerful beings in the Marvel universe

Used to love the fantastic 4 comics when I was a kid. They never transitioned to film well but this is by far my favorite foursome
I love the f4 comics as well as a kid and now and these movies do have merit and do represent the 4 and their core family dynamic correctly. The cg was great for mid 2000s and all of them had fantastic arcs in the first movie. Their origin was depicted correctly with the exception of Doom's involvement. The actor was great and can definitely pull off the menacing, cold, and calculating Doom vibes but they just got his depiction wrong. Silver Surfer was great with the exception of implying that his powers come from his board. Didn't like how they handled Galactus or how they treated those storylines. But the actors were all great and they had the core dynamics, themes, and characterizations down and great arcs in the first movie. These movies do have merit even if it's not 100% faithful and will always have a special place in my heart along with the ps2 game which was also great and was a little more closer to the matieral.

After watching FANT4STIC, this one feels like Hollywood masterpiece.
Fantastic wasn't that bad imo. Just hated to look cool and become part of the majority. Yes, it had some silly dialogues but nothing as bad as some try to make it out.

It’s amazing to me how CGI somehow peaked in 2007 and then just went downhill from there.
Bc they started over using it without discretion or seamless integration. Back then it was more expensive to use so they didn't use it as often (think Spiderman 2, perfect but minimal use of CGI, mostly all prosthetics and practical sets)

I don't think Director Tim Story portrayed the Silver Surfer's Cosmic Powers accurately, example being that he draws his powers from the Board. A classic example of his many powers is that he can fire cosmic energy beams from his hands, along with other things!
