      I like my Motionsic Head tracking systems. I use the old DJI Air Unit in mine. But I have a couple of the new O3 Air Units to try now.
      No need for flight controllers, albeit I have several of the Matek controllers.

      @@TwoBrosRC have you seen Motionsic’s channel? .., they are head-tracking FPV pioneers!!! .., I have been flying FPV (analog) since 2019, but because of their channel, I have a dream!!! .., gonna get into the DJI digital system, and put two cameras on an E-flite Viper 90.., one with head tracking and one for onboard DVR straight out the front of the nose… I chase jets with my FPV quads already, but think how much cooler it will be line of sight to see TWO jets scream by in formation!!! 😃🤩🤩🤩🤩🤪

    Just got mine and maiden it today. After 3 unsuccessful launches. I took the reflex gyro out. Put an AR637T spektrum in and had two successful flights. First one was really pitch sensitive. Added an ounce of nose weight and it flew great. Launches were controllable but still allot of torque roll in it

    I had one of these and I did not have the CG issues you were having, mine balanced nicely. The sound is very unique, it turns heads and makes people smile but it's a poor flying plane. I broke the propellor every third landing it seemed. Due to the high speed the plane lands the ESC brake wasn't strong enough to hold the prop in place so I couldn't get the prop parallel to the ground prior to landing as it was always spinning. The brake did slow it down but it still spun. This prop breaking was exasperated by the inability to flair without it stalling and tipping to one side or the other and buggering up the wingtips or the nose. I had several high speed stalls in turns were the airplane spiraled into the ground from various heights and speeds causing various levels of fixable damage but the plane got ugly fast due to the repairs. The last time I was at about 3/4 throttle in a tight turn and before I could say flash it spun into the ground in a left hand spiral from about 75 feet. It was / is still repairable but I'm going to take the ripping motor and put it in an experimental airlines type foam board wing and see what it does. I bet I end up with a more stable aircraft that is just as fast and uniquely loud. It is fun but even really good pilots are going to eat it with this one.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It definitely flew fine for us - but it's one of those models that needs to be flown nose heavy to fly stable. Every aircraft will stall at any airspeed if you bank hard enough and pull the elevator. That isn't unique to this design.

    • @tyesai
      @tyesai ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TwoBrosRC You're not wrong, any airplane will do that with enough elevator but the manual calls for a tiny amount of control throw even in high rate and I didn't deviate from the instructions. It was a quirky and a bit unpredictable airplane for me even when balance correctly. The other thing you can notice is it "hunts" around at high speed to the point that I always flew with the gyro on,. even then I couldn't make it go away entirely. That made me really cautious because it is so fast and compact you could really hurt someone / something if it gets away from you. I got 40 or so flights out of it and after being in and out of the hobby for decades it was the only plane that I've had in a long time that gave me a bit of a rush to fly lol. I don't regret the purchase. Fly it for a bit and see what happens is all I can say, especially if you push it a little bit... Good luck and thank you for the content. I do enjoy the channel!

      @@cwwisk Any recommendations?

    • @cwwisk
      @cwwisk ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TwoBrosRC the Matek F405WING or F722WING flight controller is a great beginning setup. They work great and are made for airplanes with standard dupont servo leads. Since you use Spektrum, you will want an XBUS receiver. Any camera and VTX would work. Walksnail has been proven to have the farthest HD range, but if you want things to be simple then an analog setup is just fine. INAV requires a GPS module, and iFlight and Matek both make a great M8Q-5883 with a small form-factor. Matek also makes a pitot tube airspeed sensor that may be a nice touch for you. These are the basics. You can always add camera switchers, lidar, optical flow sensors, multiple cameras, and more too, if you have enough channels and the desire to do so.

      Gyros are all personal preference, of course, up until you run something with an aft CG. Then they're absolutely necessary, regardless of what the airframe is. Even the Super Cub we got from FMS requires the gyro to fly stable if the CG is moved aft while flying with floats. We're not sure why people hate on gyros so much - you can tune them so they're basically invisible while flying, and they absolutely do not fly a model for you.

    It's tail heavy because battery is too far back. And it has two finger holes on bottom to launch it over your shoulder not under your arm, and also hold off on throttle till you toss it in the air otherwise you're probably not gonna be able to give the bird someday because it might get chopped off🤔🤔
