My 2016 FX (6+ years old) just started to have the exact same symptoms with the green charge light flashing for a while then going dark. It's a common failure... I've been waiting for this moment and it's finally arrived. Thank you for the video. I'll look for a YZPower to hold me over until it's repaired, and then maybe continue using it to charge at double rate after that.
Randomly found this video, been looking at several hundred for various Elcons and such. Looked up said YZpower-450 on amazon, 70 bucks with prime. Grey instead of brown anderson though. I'll report back if it works out of the box or if the unit will need modified, and if it even charges any faster in general.
Can you detail the connections you made - everything I would need to do to go from the YZ Power to the Zero, initial connection and the Y-Adapter stuff?
Caleb Cohen the why adapter is pretty much just that .. I did male deans plugs on the chargers .. and I did a female on the zero offboard charger plug , I got lucky in getting it with my bike , they cost $150 from zero .. not totally needed , as soon as the breakers close from the on board charger CAN BUS communications the offboard plug is HOT ... but it is for sure nice to just plug in the correct Anderson plug after the breakers close .. I just got the other 2 YZPOWER chargers this weekend, I've been using 1 for over a month when the stock zero Charger quit ... .. hope this helps
Caleb Cohen ... components. #1 for sure need a Zero off board charge plug #2 Deans plugs, or the smaller Anderson connectors ( whatever your comfortable using)
I'm a newb 7.2 FX owner, I'm trying to get a second charger to quick charge my bike (without paying the $600 for Zero's version) My onboard stock charger works fine so what exactly do I need to add an additional charger and what would the cost be, any links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, thumbs up on the video of course! Love your channel.
Interesting, hadn't heard of the YZPower charger before. Not bad for $100. That could really be a good budget option for charging or as an alternative to the Delta-Q. Would you kindly document your charging setup (and link to this video) at zeromanual.com/wiki/Main_Page for the benefit of all? Also check out www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=8298.0 "Elcon TC HK-H 1800W Charger (on Zero Motorcycles 2013+)" for about the same overall charging capability and cost in less bulk as those three YZPower units in parallel.

Thanks for sharing this info. Was this a good solution long term? Any issue using these chargers?
Could you please tell me where you bought your connectors? Thank you

how is the modular model with only one battery? Is the performance less significant than the 7.2 besides range?
