Really great how to start video, not just for mining - i feel like the in game tutorials dont really tell u enough atm. Even the just go explorer and stock-up advice u said in the first minutes is really more helpful than anything in game (besides super helpful public-chat).
I love this kinda series! Its sooo helpful for beginners. Not alot of people know that there are very convenient paths for players just starting out. Allowing them to quickly jump right into a Gameplay loop they're excited for. I also really like how you include helpful tips like 14:38.. cause that would 100% be me down there, stranded and alone... FREAKING OUT CAUSE NOW I'M TRAPPED AND I JUST DID ALL THIS MINING T_T
Thanks for your comment man! I think CitizenCon hype and Star Citizen's upcoming year will attract a bunch of new players so I figured why not make some more begineer / new player focused content! ^_^
The mining arm of the ROC is indeed buggy, but I have found a method that have worked for me every time I've tried it. - When the ROC is outside (!) of the transport vehicle, press "m" (default keybind for mining mode). - Then press the "Flight / Systems Ready"-keybind. In my experience, the arm always extends that way. Though, as with a lot of things in this game - your mileage will vary! Hope it makes ROC mining easier for someone out there! It was really cool with a guide that was full-on mining. No missions to start you off with ROC-setup. Industrious from start to finish. Loved it!
Thank you for your ROC tip and your thoughtful comment! I figured I wanted to keep to the spirit of the question and show how earning a Prospector though mining only was possible! It was a bit of a personal mission and aside from the disaster was quite fun!
The Mustang Alpha has a cargo compartment in the back. So you could start with delivery missions and loot the mining facilitys while you are there pick up or drop off.
yes, it works. Thats how I started and why I purchased the Mustang Alpha as my starter. It says 4 SCU but I did not try to push 1 SCU containers in there... yet :p The handheld boxes work fine tho. @@kaventiaplays
@@TablettenFuxXx Thank you for the tip! I guess I might need to do a new starter ship video again this year, and maybe bump the Mustang up my rankings...
I do wish the cutlass had a ladder setup on the side doors as a second entry option. I have gotten stuck not being able to get on tue ramp to many times.
Wasn’t aware they added a collection mode on the multitool. That’s an awesome upgrade! Now I’m going to have to go hand mining. I wish they would give us a larger hand held to be able mine the ROC size jems.
Thanks man, appreciate the help very much cause the game does not explain a lot. Started playing yesterday and already reached my first 200k. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you kindly my friend! Especially for taking time to comment. This game doesn't hold your hand much, fortunately the community is welcoming and willing to help out new players!
You can store your ship at those small pads to, at least the smaller ones like the C8, 100 series, think 300 series to. I do prefer mining in the ROC-DS sure i have to change seat and all but it drives a lot better i think, and even more space.
I have fought with the MOLE a couple of times in 3.22, but haven't got round to putting a video together yet, it requires a bit more coordination with other players, maybe after I get new sticks.
Well, the part that u log out and log in kind of make me not want to play the game sadly. Anyways good video thank you!! Also why mine and make money? I mean.. just that? ok imagine i mine for days and i get rich, buy a nice ship.. what noww? hahaha this game yet seems to be little bit out of content to be honest.
Many people do the mining cos they enjoy mining, but it might not be for you. Some people enjoy racing, bounty hunting, PvP, ship combat, salvaging, running bunkers, trading or just hanging out with friends.
i tried doing the cutlas black and roc mining like suggested but when scanning it literaly finds nothing apart from large rocks, has things changed in recent patchs?
The earnings from the ROC mining vehicle is pretty good, but when I did the prospector run I didn't refine it, ROC is probably better than the prospector if you don't refine, but if you refine the prospector is definitely better.

I'm really happy to hear that this helped you! Perhaps I'll make some more guides! :)
First "keep going Kaventia".
Thank you! I hope this is useful for newer players! :)

No worries man, thank you for the inspiration and honestly I think there should be more of this content out there for newer players!

The problem with your ROC almost made me spit my drink out! 🤣🤣 But it's a really useful guide, I'm sure I'll check it out again!
I was SOOOOO frustrated at the time I thought (and worried) that maybe the entire video was a waste of time...
Me too!

Landing in 3rd person to check how flat ther surface is and Low gravity moons make it a lot easier.
Awesome guide. Thanks for the effort you put in

Well, they've done it for Tractoring and Salvaging, perhaps Mining gets the next big yellow greycat gun!?
This is super helpful, thanks
No worries! :)
Great job Sir, as always!
Thank you kind sir!

Yeah pisces, 100 series, m50, razors, snubs and for some reason Talon.
@@kaventiaplays is there any way to navigate the ROC around and get it back to the outpost not like you have the QT markers to guide you.
I had no Idea you can suck them up with the Multi-tool......
Yeah it's a relatively new feature and saves a lot of time over picking them up manually.
@@kaventiaplays I have picked up thousands of those things.... by hand😟
Great video! When looting you can sell the clothing items to generate some more cash.
Thanks for your comment and the money-making tip! I hope this helps my community!
Cheers for the guide mate - well done.
No problem!
Starter mustang can do box missions. Cargo drops down in the back
I've Never seen that... I'll have to check it again, do you mean the Mustang Alpha?
@@kaventiaplays I forge which is which, but it's the starter one.
make trading guide pls
Hmmm... Y'know I'll speak to some traders and see if I can find some nice trade routes!
Is Syulen a good starter?
Yeah I think it's A or B tier!
Why is it your favorite cave?
It's the cave I've explored the most and I found Janalite there a couple of times!
What about the MOLE?
I have fought with the MOLE a couple of times in 3.22, but haven't got round to putting a video together yet, it requires a bit more coordination with other players, maybe after I get new sticks.
Can you put modules on the rented Prospector?
Great question, I haven't tested it yet!
You have to unlock ports and with a tractorbeam it is possible. You cant safe the loadout though since its a rental.
@@KillRedBeard Thanks for your comment buddy, I didn't have a chance to test it yet!

Are you in scanning mode?
Why nobody tells about the red spot while mining? It can increase mining speed but you should be careful with it. How exactly does the red spot work?
Can make money better in ROC?

I think i will going to be arrested by the fashion police to🤷🏻♀️
Obv always great video super chilling
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to comment! :) We can get arrested together! Along with all the other Loot Goblins! :D
Is Hadonite Pink?
Yes it's a kind of pinky or purpley colour depending on the light and it's the second most valuable hand-minable gem.
@@kaventiaplays thanks you! I collect all the pinku things.
