    Hi, what can you use instead of sawtooth coriander? I can’t find it at my shops.
    Thanks

    • @WorldofThaiFood
      @WorldofThaiFood  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sawtooth coriander has a unique taste that can’t be substituted. You could skip it entirely or add regular coriander/cilantro but the taste will change. Thanks for watching 🙏

      Hi Billy,
      #Shiitake
      #Eringii
      #Yanagi
      #Shimeji
      If you can’t find these, #champignon works just fine 🙏

    It looks good . But why fish sauce? A vegetarian does not eat meat or fish.

    • @WorldofThaiFood
      @WorldofThaiFood  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roy - That's right.
      However, these days a lot of people label themselves "vegetarian", even though they eat for example fish. It's not my place to decide whether that is right or wrong - It is merely a sign of the times I suppose. Those are the people that I mainly encounter in my business. Certain (most) Thai foods cannot be cooked without fish sauce, oyster sauce, stock etc. This is the compromise I have to make to preserve authenticity and taste in my recipes.
      You could try to make this dish with seasoning soy sauce instead of fish sauce but the taste will be different.Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

      @@WorldofThaiFood They now sell vegetarian fish sauce alternatives at Asian stores. So they're a decent alternative.
