I bought the matte black chopped tour pack for the 1997 thru 2008 for $250. I made 2” aluminum risers and mounted them on top of the chrome quick disconnect assembly. That put the tourpak at a proper height for the passenger. That also allowed me to mount the tourpak 3” back from where Harley mounts their tourpaks. This gives the passenger the MUCH needed room between driver and passenger. Had it painted to match the bike. Love it and the passengers appreciate the extra room 3” gives them. It also looks better on the bike that way.
advan black gets their tourpak from the same Chinese manufacturer as TCMT. I checked. I have had the chopped one from eBay on my bike for over 3 years no issue. I just installed the king. no problem advan black doesn't give you the full-size base plate either. most people mark the liner and cut it.
I had the same issues when I was attempting to install the rack on my tour pack. The location marked on the inside for predrilling were not correct. I also had issues with the bolts. The rack was for standard, and the package of bolts were metric. As far as drilling I made a template that I placed on after drilling two of the holes.
I ordered one similar and got 2 right speaker covers (shipping left out already, waiting) but none of my wholes that were pre-marked lined up, only one for backrest was correct, & mine didn’t come with the metal inside plate, BUT my ProBeam light (smoked lenses) just got my hands on one, fits super snug and those holes don’t line up either, especially the square Tour Pak liner hole is off center versus the Tour Pak Hole,, ugh!! $400 and feel got robbed for the EBay Tour Pak, I should have just bought the HD one. Anyway! If you put the wrap around Custom Dynamic Light bar on yet we would love your feedback on that installation. I’m scheduled to have my ProBeam Smoked Lenses by Custom Dynamics Light Bar installed next week. Keep 2 on the ground & stay safe!

I did get he speaker kit and I ordered the led lights also ebay. the did not ship the rack and claimed it was lost but I did et a $43 credit. shipped under $350. I would say measure twice drill once. honestly it was nicer than I expected we will see how it goes together for me. also, every listing I seen did say that the rack and back rest needed to be drilled out.
i have used almost the cheapest ones off of Amazon. very similar to the one you have but it did not come with the liner or the rack. i did have a piece of carpet like material for the base though. also, when i was looking, i stayed away from the ones that had all the holes in it. mine is just a clean solid bottom and had holes for the back rest. since i did not use the wrap around back rest, i had to fill a couple holes when i was getting it painted. i also purchased the cheaper quick release brackets. other than the fact the chrome wasn't the best and had a few bubbles in it, the $269 i spent on the trunk was well worth the money. my buddy and i did a completely non-scientific comparison to his stock tourpack. after mounted, we opened the lid, did some wiggle tests to see how much each flexed and really could not determine much of a difference. within my friend group, we have bought about 4 of these and had them in service for 3-4 years. no problems with the quality. i am not sure if Advan Black is any different in the build quality, but i do understand that their paint match process is very good and that will bring in the added pricing over and above the unit itself.
Seems like you got the bigger kit. You can get kits that come with fewer options. Mine doesn’t have as many holes in it. 🤔 Mine didn’t come with the plate or bolts. Mine came with the liner, back rest, quick connect rack and that’s it. My only issue with the Amazon tour pack so far is the tether should be a little shorter and they need to ship all pieces together.
I watched this. as soon as it was over I ordered my Avanblack. Sorry man but seriously thanks for this vid. I will come back and telll ya how my install goes once I get it.

Thanks for posting this. I just recieved my NASTYHOG king tour pack...... NO harware, NO instructions and NO pre drilled ot marked holes for the rack or backrest. I guess $1000Cdn doesnt buy you much these days.
I got the same tour pack, and on the inside of the lid there are 4 tiny barely visible circles where you drill for the rack, and I used the same 3 markings left, right and center and the backrest went on perfect first try. I jad to use the hardware that came with the mounting plate along with blue loctite and secured the plate through the pack into the rack, now I'm just trying to figure cutting holes in the mat to where those black speaker mounts because the trunk lining will not fit as it's formed to the trunk and adding an ebay smoked trunk light today was a bit of a pain trying to get it to line up on the pack because it's not and exact fit so there's been some cursing going on today but it's on there for now atleast. I'm still undecided if I want to put the rack on so bought some plastic push- in plugs to stick in the bolt holes to keep water from getting in but forgot to pick up some rubber washers to seal the plugs when pushed in....fun fun
I have been rocking my Amazon king tour pak on my road glide since 2019 off and on for long road trips. I had it painted to match bike and I will never pay those out rages prices from HD not any other place

I believe (it's been over a year) there is, for a lack of better words, dots on the inside where you would need to drill the holes molded into the plastic

Don’t drill the trunk rack until u mark it with the rack, the marks that were on mine didn’t line up exactly with my rack
Yeah I didn't think about the standoffs being welded in the wrong place. The lid was marked.
