Sir any advice para mapanatili ang good water condition sa koi pond. Bumili kasi ako blackmoor goldfish gusto kong maiwasan na magkaroon sila ng popeye. Thanks sir you are very helpful
I used the egg yoke with my first breeding experience, i siffed the cooked eggyoke trough a cloth and gave a little each day. U could see their stomachs turn yellow like the yoke! It was a succesfull method for me!
@@NicholasVLee I boiled the egg for about 8 minutes. Then peeled the egg, removed the egg whites so that you only have a little yellow egg yolk left. I grabbed a piece of cloth (Like a t-shirt) and pressed the egg yoke trough the shirt so that the egg yoke is now more of a puree/mash consitency wich is better for the betta fry to eat and to divide. I didnt give much everyday. Its better that you do give just a little multiple times a day.
thanks very much dexter, im at this stage right now. You're very welcome brother Dexter is a privilege and a joy to support your videos and to learn from them as I previously said you're giving me a college education and tropical fish breeding in care thank you just doesn't seem like enough although I do thank you also do you think it's a good idea to keep leaves in with the betta fry to keep their water Brown I've tried it and seen no ill effect only problem is I have to buy more leaves thank you and as always God bless brother
Sir ; Thanks for showing us the ARTEMIA feeding. One of my friends told me Microworms and INFUSORIA as the first food. You are experienced. So I believe you. God bless you Sir Mathew P JOHN from ALUVA, Ernakulam district, KERALA STATE, S. INDIA.
it doesn't matter what the first food is, micro worms, brine shrimp. it don't matter the first food should be live food it gets them in the feeding mood
I feed my guppy fry brine shrimp that come in a small glass jar, they're very condensed and contains enough to feed the fry for several weeks (there are about 20 at any time). Great alternative to live shrimp, they are so small and light that any water current from a bubbler or filter is enough to move them around in the water like they are alive, the fry will eat them immediately.
Dexter, Thanks very much for the betta breeding videos! You have a great amount of knowledge & experience to share with others. My question is when do the male bettas start to get fed?
Some kids are crazy and will kill the Bettas as a dare or for fun and it's hard for a teacher to ensure that doesn't happen as a class could have more than 25 kids.
Can you make a video on growing the bbs to adults? Dexter my advice for hatching the bbs eggs is to use the inverted bottle method as most of the hatched bbs will collect at the mouth of the bottle making it extremely easier to collect them. You can speed up process by adding a light source to the bottom when they have hatched as bbs are attracted to light. Then use a airline to siphon out it. I would invest in a brineshrimp sieve which would easily filter out the bbs in the sizes. The finest bbs collect i would feed to newborn fry until 3 to 4 days from first feeding then they would have grown bigger in size to eat any of the sizes of bbs from the hatchery. As for microworms imo its not best for bettas but great for livebearers fry as bettas feed mostly in water column or surface and microworms sink to bottom. It also causes loss of ventrals fin. Feeding heavily on bbs will cause swim bladder so dont over feed but feed smaller but frequent anounts. Monitor water quality and remove dead bbs as it quickly fouls water. Personally i try to increase odds of fry survival byfeeding the females boil egg yolk chicken liver decap bbs and lots of live foods like daphnia and mosquito larva and hatched bbs. Feeding high protein foods will increase the egg production and make the eggs larger in size so the newly hatch fry become larger in size when hatched. Additionally i would also make infusoria by using taro leaves which i would blend up or mash up and put in a large glass gallon jar with old tank water and squeeze out the filter sponge water gunk in it. This would seed the water with infusoria to kick start the medium. Cover the mouth opening with a cloth so it can exchange air but prevent bugs in. Place in a dark cuboard for about a week. Each day i would only stir the water surface gently just to get film broken to allow air exchange and prevent molds. Once you have seen water clear up from murky use a flash light in dark room to see if the infusoria has bloom. You would see them swimming around. I would use a pipette to siphon out then and add to the fry tanks when i see them hanging in the bubble nest. That's so when they free swim they have an easily mouth size meal if i don't feed bbs or hatch bbs in time. In conclusion no method is perfect what one must do is to learn and research valid information them try methods and journal it to see success and failures. Then you can see which best works for you. Live foods are best options for higher fry survival as its the fry natural instincts to hunt for food so egg yolk and crush pellets would have lowest survival. Good luck and remember failure is just one step closer to success. God Bless.👍
I've always wondered what Betta fry eat naturally in their native habitat since they obviously don't eat BBS with it being from salt water. Do they just eat a lot of microscopic bugs until they're big enough for insect larvae?
Neon Kue in my opinion. He eats a lil bacteria something like infusoria, or lil daphnia. Not the magna ones. I have seen daphnia in gutter. Its easy to breed in wild. But its easy to disappear from flooding or lil fish eat it until no one survive
uhmm sir may little concern lang po ano po ba ang mas pinaka epektibo sa pagpapakain sa mga bagong hatch na beta yung ganyan or yung boiled egg po sir namayaman sa proteins?
I have tried the egg yolk. It works only around 1 or 2 days. Then they only want living foods. I didnt expect the fry to hatch quick. I did get my daphnia from my local fish shop in their 3rd day of hatching.
Egg yolk are just good for first feeding. You can't keep feeding them egg yolk they'll still die. I tried it and now got daphnias for feeding my 2nd batch of fry.
