I love how you broke down the different types of Betta fish and their unique characteristics. The insights on their care requirements and personalities are super helpful. Thanks for sharing your expertise and making it so engaging! Can’t wait to see more content like this.
Such an insightful video! I love how you broke down the different Betta fish types and provided useful tips for anyone looking to add one to their tank. It’s clear that you’re passionate about these amazing fish, and the rankings were spot on-especially highlighting their unique colors and personalities. Great mix of educational content and entertainment, keep these Betta videos coming!
This was really informative! I learned about the various Betta fish types and how to care for them. The voiceover was very clear and helped me easily understand which varieties are good for those new to Betta care.
I just watched a video ranking the best Betta fish, and it was so interesting! The different colors and fin types are incredible, and I learned a lot about what makes certain Betta varieties stand out. It’s amazing how much care and attention goes into breeding these beautiful fish. Definitely made me appreciate the uniqueness of each type even more! 12:06
I loved how the Koi betta was first, I was side eyeing my Koi betta who is an upstanding member in a 140 gallon community tank with over 100+ other fish. I think with enough space as long as they have a place of their own and fish that can hold their own, handle the same parameters, and not be a threat to the betta, they're all good XD
These Betta Fish are perfect for many fishkeepers to add in their aquarium. Double Tail is a great one. The species has a beautiful appearance. The fun and active personality makes it the best option to own! Thank you so much for doing this video.
Thanks for sharing this awesome ranking of the best Betta fish! It’s so helpful for anyone looking to choose the perfect Betta for their aquarium. The variety and tips you provided make it easier to decide. Keep up the great work and fantastic content!
This video is truly fantastic! The impressive ranking of betta fish provides valuable information for both beginners and professionals in fishkeeping. It's clear that you have a genuine passion for this topic and extensive experience. I agree with your ratings, especially regarding the half-moon bettas and female bettas. Thank you for the entertaining content, and we look forward to seeing more impressive videos!
I’ve had 3 dragon scale bettas, two developed diamond eye. I trained them to feed by tapping on the tank and feeding them in the exact same spot using a feeding ring with floating food. I started training them before they became completely blind. Also once they lost their sight I never moved around the plants or ornaments. As for females, they are also aggressive and territorial, but not as hardcore as the males. But if you follow these rules, you can be successful: the minimum number of a betta sorority is five. Less than five will lead to one female being constantly bullied. Five or more will establish a “pecking” order-alpha female down to the least aggressive one and avoid one betta being singled out. Also tank mates like sword tails, female guppies (the bettas will attack male fancy tail guppies thinking they are male bettas) and other fast darting fish around the same size or smaller (Gouramis and other labyrinth fish are not compatible and will attack female bettas) are good for distracting the bettas from each other. Plenty of hiding spaces are recommended so the bettas are not always in line of sight of each other. So heavily planted 20 gallon or larger tank sizes are recommended for a sorority. A back up smaller tank should be set up when the females are in the same tank for the 1st time, and observed closely for the 1st few days in case you have a very aggressive female that’s bullying the others, or if a female is being bullied by all the other females and needs to be removed. When introducing a new female to an established sorority, rearrange plants and other ornaments. It will distract the bettas and trick them into thinking they haven’t established their own territory. Many sororities fail and not recommended for those who’ve never owned bettas before.
THANK YOU for this video. I couldn’t agree more with your list, the drawbacks in quality of life of these fancy bettas is sad. My first betta (and fish) was a gorgeous dragonscale male that was gifted to me for Christmas. His body and his fins were stunning. Unfortunately, who knows how much inbreeding it took to create such a stunning fish. I had him in a 10gallon with low flow sponge filter, heater, heavily planted, deep sand substrate, with a mystery snail “brother” to keep him company. Developed fin rot and would recover, grow back most of his fins - then as soon as they were nearly grown back, they would rot away once more. Tried salt dips, tried neosporin (actually worked the best out of anything else I tried). Poor guy was just fighting a battle against himself. RIP Jr, you were a great lil buddy and got me into the hobby. Since he passed, I have gone with female bettas and WOW what a change. Couldn’t recommend more for anyone getting into bettas. I’ve got 3 in a 70gallon that are in complete harmony (wouldn’t recommend multiple in tank for newer hobbyists). I haven’t done much differently care-wise for the females and they are thriving and healthy, it’s nice knowing there wasn’t anything I could have done differently for my male. Thanks for sharing this video
Thank you for this comment and sorry to hear about your experience. Overbreeding is a major issue with several fish in the hobby most notably with goldfish and bettas. Diamond eye is very bad with that breed and they just are not as robust as others. Female bettas are great and I really like the work that KG Tropicals does with their female betta stock. They also raise sisters together which gives them a better chance of long term capability. Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
"Absolutely stunning! Betta fish are such vibrant and elegant creatures. This video perfectly captures their beauty and uniqueness. Truly mesmerizing to watch!" 🌟🐠
Happy the crowntail made the list iv got a male jn my tank. Not 100% how old he is i think roughly a year or so. But hes so chill and very active, has an awsome personality and so far gets along with Everyone jn the tank (or jsut doesnt care for them) and iv got shrimps tetras snails and corys
Awesome video! I learned a lot, I didn’t know that certain breeds of betta fish could be more hardy or aggressive than others but that makes so much sense considering selective breeding! I have a King Half Moon Beta fish myself, and if it’s not too much trouble, I would love to know where such a breed would go on your tier list :)
Thanks for commenting. There are a bunch of varieties of Bettas. Since there are fin and then scale varieties it can make it confusing to do a very large tier lists so I limited this one. I would say your King HM would be either B or A tier
My favorite fish are the thai, Malay, and indo bettas. I like the ones that are more aggressive. They seem more active and i love to see them flare. I love all bettas, like the long fins, dumbos, and kois but "fighter" bettas will always have my heart.
what i heared about categorizing betta, they do it via fin/tail patterns and/or via color patterns. for example when you say koi betta, they have the color pattern that resembles koi fish. you can have a koi betta that is HMPK or a delta tail.
The alien Betta pic and videos you are showing here is from Frank's betta , I've imported the same Betta from him . They look stunning ar the beginning but they get dull very soon , and Frank doesn't share his secret. I've tried everything like almond leaf, jackfruit leaf etc but nothing improved. Those bettas cost a fortune, I'm saying fortune because I can get A++ rated bettas in $15-20 in Kolkata. BTW I had one turquoise dumbo delta ( $3 ) and he was stunning. Now I've sorority. One thing I need to say, my bettas never live more than 18-20 months . I don't know but they all die within 2 years . I do agree with you about what you said in the video.
Thanks for your comment. I do find it amazing when domestic breeds sell for way more than the imports. You figure imports would be more, but we are getting to the point where we are getting designer breeds selling for hundreds
I dont agree with the koi betta being aggressive to that extent, aggressive tendencies come from 3 things warm water, the color red and lesser extent yellow, and the tail, you can keep koi bettas together im doing this currently, bettas get aggressive when the temperature is above 76 degrees ferenheit hotter water makes them think its breeding season, the body is pure red because bettas act upon Bull logic because thats how humans breed them, and long flowing tails, tails act as a warning flag, long tails is a permanent warning flag, if you can avoid these or atleast not have too much of each variable koi bettas will be peaceful
Wow. I’ve never heard before that different betta tail types need different temperatures. Also, Plakats, Veil Tails, and Crown Tails are the hardiest breeds there are because they’ve got the most diverse gene pool. Double tails are an absolute F tier, because they’re by far the most over bred, unfortunately. They have shorter bodies than the other breeds which puts more pressure on their organs. Breeds with extra huge fins also don’t age that well and get more easily stressed over time.
Thanks for the comment. I lost track of an earlier comment from a viewer that wanted to debate crowntails tier and your comment explains why they are not in F like elephant ears. Learned from double tails. I just stay away from long fin types in general
@ There’s definitely beauty in the short fin ones, too. And especially there’s beauty in having your fish live longer :D I usually stick to Plakats too, but you can’t argue with the beauty of a red Veil Tail ;)
Hi there! I was thinking of getting into fish and like betta fish. Is it okay to put female bettas together? I was wanting to get a 5 gallon tank and 2 fish. Thanks for any advice!
You can put females together but not in a tank that small. For a 5 gallon tank - that works for one betta. You could add some snails but that’s about it.
The only issue I have is downvoting for ‘agression’, they’re bettas, they’re going to be aggressive, particularly the males, it’s part of the species profile. I’d say my personal ‘S-tier’ bettas are any of the short finned ‘plakat/wild type’ or the females The hybrid/inbred/over-finned types just have too many drawbacks, the closer to wild type the better.
@ I recently picked up a ‘giant’ betta at my local pet shop, he looks like a plakat, black body with iridescent cobalt markings, he’s living the good life in a heavily planted jungle of guppy grass in a 40 breeder, don’t believe anyone who says that bettas ‘prefer’ smaller tanks, ‘Heavy Weapons Fish’ uses every inch of his 40 Breeder and is absolutely happy with his tank

Putting dumbo bettas because of problems with their fins in F tier but Putting crowntails in C tier is wild to me
I love how detailed and easy to follow your explanations are! You really highlight what makes each betta unique

Glad you think so!

I love my wild betta Antuta’s.
Awesome 😎
Female bettas are easily my preferred variety.
Awesome choice. They have been finally getting their recognition with new breeds
Among These Fishes " Giant Betta " is My Choice
well... my butterfly half moon betta is the king of my 250L aquarium, that's all i need to know!

Can you put a sae and betta together ?

A tierlist is coming 👀
Cool

Nice
Thanks
Veil tail or alien?!?!? I still can't decide 🥹🥴
Aliens are pretty cool - but harder to find
Somebody either has a sports car or wants one really bad based on the car analogies LOL
Actually I have motorcyles and a truck 😅
I have a betta fish
Hate AI. The best betta is one that lives and is not overbred.
I don’t like AI either. The closer to wild generally the better
What is the Average Life of a Betta fish (in human month/year)?
2 years usually is what I see
Where was the blue rim.
This gotta be the dumbest Betta video I've ever seen. But I loved the content. Pretty cool concept.
Why dumb?
