    Believe me that if I don't have a cupcake tin I won't have sealer's for a mason jar haha

    • @lux0rd01
      @lux0rd01 5 ปีที่แล้ว +98

      Right? In what world does someone have something obscure like mason jar sealers but not something common like a cupcake tin? Its not even like it'd be a cheaper alternative if you were needing to buy one or the other judging by a quick google search. Maybe the rings take up less room but it doesnt look like it works well enough to be worth it.

    Maybe adding a little water to the jello to dissolve the granules and make the colour darker may help

    • @whydewucare
      @whydewucare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Water would make it runny. Putting the jello into a grinder before would be best. This way the jello is as close to a fine powder as possible.

    • @jdgovender900
      @jdgovender900 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@whydewucare grinding would definitely help. As long as there is something in the ingredients to wet the particles enough, the colour will improve too (I thought of water as more of misting, just enough to cause enough hydration to darken the colour). The finer the particles, the lower the amount of "wetting" substance would be needed.
      But if I think about it more, you may need to make the jello a liquid first, depending on how will it incorporates at different phases and particle sizes. Need to watch the video again to see what happened ... it's been a while

    I always put my butter in a ziploc bag in a sink of hot water for maybe 5 minutes if I need it softened fast. Just check on it because if you leave it too long it will melt. I also use the intact egg shell to scoop out any pieces I may have dropped in. It works really well.

    • @MegaDmama
      @MegaDmama 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      The hot mugs hack works better with a bowl. You just have to cut the butter into about 4 pieces.
      The mason jar ring works if you turn it so that the smaller side is up. I was yelling at her through the screen! 😂😂😂
      The parchment paper works, but you lay it flat on the dough, not wrap it around the wine bottle 😂😂😂

    • @jkg5215
      @jkg5215 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The whole point is not to get the salmonella that can coat an egg shell... So using an egg shell to get a egg shell is pointless...

    • @ClareWagner3
      @ClareWagner3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@jkg5215 If you're going to cook it either way it won't matter. When you crack the egg, the inside comes in contact with the shell, and any pieces that are dropped in are also potentially contaminated. But baking the product will kill salmonella. If you are very concerned you could put the egg in boiling water for 1 minute to kill any salmonella on the shell before cracking it, but this is not necessary unless the egg will be eaten raw.

    I feel like the mason jar thing would be good for making a muffin that had more muffin top surface area. Also I’ve used the wine bottle rolling pin for pie dough but I took the label off first and cleaned it so it was perfectly smooth. Idk if it made a difference. The nice part about using a wine bottle is if there’s a slight taper to it and you usually end up with thinner outside edges than center of the crust, you can use that taper strategically to make it more even.

    So, I've done a couple of these- the butter softening trick works with a full stick if you take the cup off and refill it with hot water a couple of times to reheat it, then empty it and put back over the butter. Takes a little longer than the hack video would have you believe, but it does work. I also use a glass, not a ceramic mug, because I feel like the ceramic mug gets TOO hot and the butter does actually melt. With the glass it doesn't stay super hot for long but the mid-range heat it provides helps the butter soften without melting. Also, the marshmallow on top of the cupcake should be melted by broiling on low until golden brown, don't take your eyes off it for a second though! Then you'll definitely get a toasted marshmallow flavor and it shouldn't melt so much it falls off, just toasts the top enough to make it smooth out over the top of the cupcake. Great video!!

    In high school I was staying the night at my friend's house and we wanted to make a cake at like 2 in the morning and we didn't have icing but neither of us could drive yet. So we used marshmallow fluff as icing and ate it immediately after. It was the absolute best cake I have ever eaten even still almost 10 years later.
    EDIT: Also I have never been in the situation where I would need to freeze cookie dough. If it doesn't get baked, it gets eaten 😂

    The apple in the cookie container hack works well and is something I learned from my grandma. I had to do it with some vegan ginger cookies as they hardened almost instantly after leaving the oven and I needed them to be soft and chewy. And yes, definitely do not let the apple slices touch the cookies for too long because they melt even after just several hours (we just had to eat the ”bad” ones quickly)

      K E L K A Y if your hair is relatively thin like hers, you can ask for a solid, crisp one length cut with the perimeter sitting at the color bone.
      However, if you hair is thicker, it’s really difficult to have a one length cut without it turning into a slight Christmas tree shape(especially with wavy/curly hair!)
      There are ways to make it work, just make sure to go to a stylist you trust and have a really good consultation with them before the shears are brought out ☺️💕

      haleypotter417 I believe I’ve seen kook-aid used to flavor icing in a different hack video before, although I’d imagine that you would still deal with the icing having a grainy consistency, but it would probably have much more flavor compared to jello.

    • @LG-kb7ll
      @LG-kb7ll 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      punk -18- actually it would be if you used the hack properly. It’s not a hack where you just add it into store bought frosting. You’re suppose to add it to self made frosting or well properly made frosting, not store bought. At my bakery we add green jello to our frosting in a mixer and there’s no off texture because proper frosting would already dissolve the granular texture. I’ve also seen this done at many other bakeries. You just need to be smart about baking tips and techniques or they need to be taught with more detail.

      @@LG-kb7ll It also depends on the temperature and the moistness of the cream. We don't have jello here so I just assume it's dyed and flavoured gelatine which either requires heat or liquid (not fat) to dissolve properly in.
