YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE IS CRUELTY FREE. This is extremely important to me in making my skincare decisions.
And, why is everyone in this thread bashing Hyram? Dr. Dray and Hyram both have a place in skin care education and both have a great deal to contribute. Apples and Oranges.

I bought the cleanser in the trial size twice and loved it. I don't wear makeup everyday and have a normal to dry, sensitive, occasional breakout skin type. This has improved the look and feel of my skin, as well as stopped the breakouts. The full size bottle is a bit pricey so I decided to try the Cerave hydrating & Cetaphil gentle cleansers and both made me breakout all over my face. I will be purchasing the YTTP cleanser.

I've experienced no stinging from this product at all. That's so strange. I also find that it's so effective in removing my sunscreen and makeup. I tested it a few times to see if I ever had any residue after using it. It's been excellent for me. But still really appreciate her knowledge.

I've been using the Youth to the People products since February and I really love them. I do use Jordan Samuels Hydrating Serum first, then the YTTP moisturizer. I also really like the cleanser, but I use a microfiber facial wash cloth with it to remove the cleanser. Sorry to hear the negative review, but respect your opinion.

I love this cleanser but I don’t use it to remove makeup. It’s the only one that doesn’t dry out my skin and makes it feel clean. Also this cleanser is cruelty free, vegan and clean certified by Sephora.

For someone who has given up on skincare because of skincare ptsd, "Youth of the People" has definitely renewed my faith in skin care (well specifically Hyram coz his channel introduced me to this product). I've just started using these products and OMG they have been amazing on my problematic skin. It has definitely helped me through my skincare PTSD. I totally respect the fact that it isn't for everyone but it has done wonders for me and I can't be more happy with their products. I have oily combo with sensitive and acne prone skin and so far my skin has been behaving. My bf and my friends have even commented on how glowy my skin has been looking as of late. It has renewed my faith in the skincare industry!

I use youth to the people's cleanser because all their packaging is biodegradable. And the cleanser is made out of actual recyclable materials. I agree I don't love how it is cleansing compared to the my pyunkang yul acne or ato cleanser but I'd rather buy an 8oz that will last me an entire school year and won't stay in the planet forever before it degrades.

I didn't experience anything while washing my face so I never blamed it. I developed styes in both of my eyes too, went to a doctor used everything they mentioned & still no relief. My classmates even noticed my eyes looked horrible. After 2 months of using it, I misplaced the cleanser and used my sisters for a few days, suddenly the stye goes away after 3 days, and after 6 days the itching was basically gone.

I know it’s a non-issue for most people but I am glad that sulfate free products are becoming more of a thing. I am very very allergic (burning skin, hives, swelling, dryness, deep dark red patches, etc) to sulfates and it took me years to figure what was causing it. I just hope more companies move away from the gimmick-marketing that’s really prevalent right now.

I've tried cerave ( I still use the SA cleanser once or twice a week when I feel my skin needs it, it's too drying to use everyday) I've tried drunk elephant farmacy clinique, they all irritated my skin. I got a sample of the YTTP cleanser and found it great using it after an oil cleanse. It is a light gel cleanser but as a second step it works great, I really think it help with my overall complexion, could be the green tea. I dont mind the fragrance since I'm washing it off anyways. Silicone for instance is not frowned upon for being problematic for the skin, but for microplastic pollution of the water, just like Polyester, Elasthane and such in clothes.
That's why brands with a more natural or sustainable branding tend to avoid it.

I think when a skin care company wants to produce a good product they should consult a good dermatologist first. It would be a selling point for me. So happy you are here to set us straight! I love how you mention if the product is cruelty-free or vegan. Not too many content creators that aren't strictly cruelty-free would do that.

Maybe these products should be called " BS To The People" . This trend of taking ingredients that are wonderful when ingested and putting them on your skin or your hair never ceases to amaze me! Seriously, it would be much more cost effective to buy a bunch of kale and spinach, throwing them in the blender and slapping that on your face. It is truly depressing how many people will believe any ridiculousness a company claims. Cheers!

Yes, thank you! Ingesting these foods, then having our bodies digest them and utilize the nutrients, is worlds away from putting them directly on your skin.
It's so aggravating to me that the main selling point of many of these products is the addition of ingredients that have no benefit when applied topically. People are getting totally scammed and wasting so much money. I wish brands would have more integrity and be honest about which ingredients are beneficial for which purposes. There are even brands out now that present themselves as being science based for marketing purposes and really aren't. Ugh.

She didn't say they're bad for your skin she said the fragrances in them can cause an issue and in her experience it did not cleanse her skin like she wanted it to and didn't get off her makeup or sunscreen and the moisturizer did not moisturize her skin good and didn't stop water loss. Just facts here where did she say it's just bad for your skin?

I own both Krave and YTTP cleansers and I love both. I use the Krave in the morning bc I have a very oily skin and every morning I have so much oil on my nose, its very gentle to my skin. The YTTP is for the evening routine, it does an excellent job removing "the day", especially for my husband who works in construction field and faces dirt and sun exposure everyday. It soothes the redness and cools off his skin so much. In terms of the cost, the Krave is $16 for 120ml and YTTP is $36 for 237ml so it can seems like YTTP is more expensive at first glance but it's not, they are equal. The fragrance actually comes from the veggies extract so it's not artificial fragrance or essential oil, I don't see any problems here, you can't help if your ingredients smells like that, like the Krave barrier relief has the earthy smell from tamanu oil but it's not fragrance or a bad ingredient. I love both companies and own all their products so I am sad to hear misleading information. Hope you will give YTTP a second chance:)

Dr. Dray, Oh My God!! I found your TH-cam channel accidentally yesterday (my birthday!) while on the bus watching other videos. I could kick myself! I normally use Cetaphil cleanser, Cerave moisturizer, Paula's Choice SPF 50 in the day and I just leave out the SPF and add prescription Duac and Retin A on different nights. I heard about Youth to the People (YTTP) products at Sephora and stupidly fell for the hype!! I purchased that Kale Spinach cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream! Youth to the People sounded "better" than the "simple" products I was using. Ugghhh. Fast forward just 2 weeks and my skin is so incredibly dry. I thought my oily, acne-prone skin was just "adjusting" to a new and better product and would have continued using YTTP, but then I saw this excellent review. Unbelievable! As of last night I stopped using the Youth to the People stuff and have gone back to my "simple" routine; so much money wasted. Anyway, I am so very happy I found you. I will subscribe and proceed to watch all of your videos. Thank you so much for the very unexpected birthday gift! I am very happy that I found you.

And, I forgot to mention that I had also purchased the YTTP Brightening Serum (insert eye roll here), but the good news is that I wrote to YTTP today and I will be returning all of the products for a full refund!!! Yahoo! I will then be heading to Rite Aid to purchase some of the much better skin care products you recommend. I will also be switching from Cetaphil cleanser to Cerave hydrating cleanser. Once again, a huge thank you!!! I appreciate all of the wonderful information I've gotten from you! Have a great weekend!

Hi Dr Dray I live for your reviews. Mostly because you can break down the efficacy (or lack of) in a clinical sense. I use and like YTTP as well as Krave products because they are pretty simple. I prefer a simpler (ingredient) regimen because I don't like mixing too much with the Tretinoin I use for my acne. Thanks again for your professional opinion.

I really enjoy YTTP products as I appreciate what the brand stands for since I am vegan. I use these two products, but I agree with them being potentially drying. I however use the cleanser in a double cleanse following a balm or as my morning cleanser. I follow up the cream with a more occlusive thick cream like eucerin because I like to layer it. But I much more prefer the YTTP aptogen cream!

One of the reasons this may cause breakouts is because of your previous cleanser! It’s like your skin is freaking out since it’s been used to a certain formula. When I try a new cleanser I usually wait a few days or about a week. Sometimes your skin needs a transitioning period. No I’m not a professional dermatologist but that’s just what’s happened with my skin and many other people I know. Hope this helped some people!

Omg wild i actually absolutely love this cleanser and i have to admit i hate cera ve’s cleansers and even their moisturizer which my dermatologist recommended to me!!! The first bottle i used of the cleanser was fine but the second time i bought it it made my skin BURN. And as for the cera Ve moisturizer, it makes my skin itchy as hell. I was using the Krave matcha cleanser for a while but I found that I was getting a bunch of whiteheads on my forehead and little sebaceous filaments on my nose and t zone. I dont know what it is and I can’t argue with Dr. Dray’s logic but theres something about the YTTP cleanser that makes it worth looking at.

I picked up Soon Jung 5-Panthensoside Cica Balm by Etude House the other day. It has Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract in it but I didn't buy it just for that. I was looking for a heavy duty moisturiser and you once mentioned the Cica Balm from LRP which has fragrance in it. I haven't been using this Soon Jung product long enough to give it some serious testing out but so far I am really enjoying it. No breakouts and seems to keep my face nice and moisturised but not oily (I use it at night only). It's too early to tell if the green tea is shrinking my pores :).

    Dr dray,
I know this comment is much later, and doesn’t have anything to do with this product persay (though I’m in pursuit of a great cleanser). I have a question. 36f hormonal acne especially along jaw line, combo skin, long time neglect so skin is congested, melasma. I’m hoping you could provide a suggestion.
I bought a travel size bottle of the cerave foaming cleanser. I enjoyed it but found it to be a bit drying on my cheeks and forehead especially with higher zinc sunscreen. I am just about out of that. So I bought the hydrating cleanser (full size bottle) I am interested in doing a 2 step cleanse. Would the hydrating cleanser be considered the second cleanse or the first? Could you suggest a product that would partner with that in the cleansing process. Also adding that I wear a mask for 8 hours a day without air conditioning.
I appreciate any input. Thank you so much!
