Finally a video that actually shows how to put this stuff into practice! I'm training to be a therapist adn struggling to match up the theory with practice. Most videos are role played wiht actors and too perfect in execution. Not sure if this lady is an actor (I'm guessing not based on the camera angle to avoid seeing her full face), but if she is...well done to her. This seemed much more authentic than other videos. More please!!

Great video! Just wondering how to instruct the patients to "sit with the thoughts" - is this basically giving the patients "worry time"?

If he’s using the intolerance of uncertainty model, I think the “sitting with it” part is about self monitoring uncomfortable feelings, observing them but not actively trying to “manage” them. The rationale (from my limited understanding) is to prove that, whilst it is uncomfortable, it can be survived.

This is a great question. I have also heard therapists put a time limit on “sitting with” or ruminating.. which I think is brilliant because I myself want to think about stuff ..but then I get paralyzed by doing nothing and “thinking in circles.” When i have a time limit it gives me permission to ruminate a bit but I know I can’t “stay stuck”
