      @@wargameshobby what brand of minis are these ??.. ( And thanks for the demo, loved it)... extra question - The American militia was shot and forced to retreat half move, and in the next turn was fired upon again - and broke/routed under fire, but as they were forced back, they were no longer the closed target for the british.. mistake or do you keep your target as the attacker, or should the british by rule have fired upon the regulars ??

    Great tutorial and video. What type of camera did you use to make the video? Did you use a stand for the camera?

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use my Apple iPhone, but it works fine. Yes, I use a stand, well in fact mostly I use a gimbol, the DJI Osmo 3, which seems to keep things stabilized. I edit using the free iMovie software on my Apple PC, it is fairly basic but also does the job.

    I realize I am late to the party, but just discovered Rebels and Patriots. Question, at 40:21 the Reds engaged the broken unit to the rear to 'finish them off', what happened to the 'have to fire at closest enemy' rule? Did I miss something?

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep, you are correct, must shoot at nearest target unless the unit is broken. The other unit looks closer, but I can’t remember so will only say the militia was nearest or I forgot, probably the last to be honest. 😊 I have a brain like a sieve. 😂

    How do they compare with Musket and Tomahawks 2ed? Which would you prefer?

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. My all time favourite rules are M&T, so that answers the main question. But R&P are good for a larger games using more figures, rather than play Black Powder, as they are so easy to play. 👍

    What size bases are you using? 15 mm or 20 mm?

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I started basing foot at 25mm, as I felt for skirmish games they would be more spread out. However, some troop types are better being closer order, so now I do some at 20mm. Some of my mates do 20mm, some do 25mm, and we have never had any issues. None base on 15mm as they would be hard to base 28mm figures on such a small base. But 15mm or 20mm maybe would be fine. All mounted are standard 25mm x 50mm.

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  ปีที่แล้ว

      To add to me first reply, most are based 20mm for R&P, even the skirmishers, but they are then placed on sabots (movement trays) for ease of moving. The Light Inf and skirmishers are placed in trays that are more spread out. For other rules where there is even more skirmishing I sometimes use 25mm, but then don't put them on sabots.

    • @wargameshobby
      @wargameshobby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think these rules are great for a quick game, and yes it can end quickly if the rolls go against you. But for a big game possibly they would not be ideal. The rules are fairly easy too, so that is good, but some say too easy. It just depends what you are looking for. I have mates who are not keen, so I do know not everyone agrees with me.
