Chicken Tractor Build - Part 2 (Metal Frame and wiring)

- Years ago I built a chicken tractor that I had to roll around manually. It worked well but it was heavy and I got tired of pushing it around. So, I decided to build a new chicken tractor that uses electric wheelchair motors to move itself. This is the second video that explains how I built it. In this video I outline how I connected the motors together using a metal frame and also how the wiring harness was built.

This is GENIUS! Are you selling these? You should!! Great job.
My 7-year old son loves these videos. ☺️ Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
4:54 You're welding all over all your plastic tools. You can get a fiberglass welding blanket to cover up stuff (should have one anyway), but it's a good idea to clear your workspace of flammables/ruin-ables and have a water sprayer on hand for the inevitable accidental ignitions. In a pinch, get some old denim wet, wring it out, and use that to cover things, like your tires, that you don't want weld spatter on.
This a great series. I look forward to the next video.
Thanks for posting.
Thank you
Looking forward to the next video. Hope you continue to create content. If you choose you will make a very good channel/profit!
Thanks!
I'm guessing the reason you couldn't weld to that bracket was because it's aluminum. You can always test by using a magnet. Nice project.
It was steel, my welder just wasn't turn up high enough. I ended up figuring out how to weld to it after that video was shot. Thanks for watching.
Great idea
I want to know more about your automatic door, I've bought some that are solar and are unpredictable.
What's the reciever you are using?
Please draw up a plan.. With details and parts. I'd be willing to pay for your work as I'm sure others would too. Also add alternatives to the power chair motor wheels of possible
Wow. I am surprised you haven't tried to sell this idea. For those who can afford to buy one already built or have the knowledge needed to build this it seems like a 'No brainer' that you would hold a 'Patent' and try to capitalize on this invention. Get with people that have the skills you don't actually have and put this down on paper & get it copyrighted. Don't forget 'A sister' who suggested this, I could use the money, LOL!!!
It actually isn't a new idea and it's already patented :( BUT, the ones you can buy are very expensive so that's why I decided to figure out how I could build my own. My hopes with these videos is to help other people build them too. Thanks for watching.
I guess a raccoon can't squeeze under the curtain.
Not yet. I haven't lost any chickens to predators in the 3+ years of using this.
