Once again, a brilliant first impression video Jason. Looks like it'll be a fantastic looking model when completed. I will enjoy watching you assemble this one, once you clear your plate enough. Thank you for sharing this overview.
Great review Jason, This has been on my wish list for a while now. I just am having a hard time figuring out how to display it, it's so big! With all the extras, it should look really great. Thanks for sharing.
Ive bought AK real colors White Grey its, a match for Schnellboot Weiss. Sovereign Colorcoats has SB Weiss in their range. Also bought among other things AFV Clubs Sea Mine set. Its a nice kit which allows no end of options being in 1/35.
This kit came out around 2007/2008, it was a great kit, some parts needed correcting not a lot, but on the whole you can build it from the box, we were screaming for another version early S-boat and this is what we got in 2017, the hull is the same as the S-100, but upper deck is for the earlier boat, as for the hull DO NOT SAND DOWN THE RIVETS AROUND THE TORPEDO TUBES,
If your going to make a statement like don’t do something, in shouting capitals, at least explain yourself! The rivets look terrible, they are deformed and not straight but even if the rivets are in the correct place they do need removing and replacing in my opinion.
I did it like that so you wouldn't sand them down, if you do, you will ruin the hull, with a few coats of paint they will be less terrible as you call it, this is a brilliant model kit, but having said they it not 100% accurate, They had rivets on the torpedo tube area, as you said in you film , check your reverences first before you put it under the knife, and good luck when you build it, it will look amazing on a table or shelf
Eduard started doing nice PE sets for it there was a Christmas release just come out there so not sure if they have went and looked at it the tooling or if it's just been new plastic Moulded to keep the plastic fresh from brittleness through the older kit's I've got one sitting aside for me in my LHS he has a couple on sale for £95 so said why not! I've been after one for a while now so I'll check and see what one it is when go in tomorrow if it's the 2017 re release or older
If you go on our favourite auction site for the Eduard set's you'll get full coloured pictures of the parts being used on the schnellboot! It's not always clear working from there instruction sheets for the s38! Also fantastic documentaries on TH-cam of the schnellboot I watched one just yesterday its in for a full hour and then there a few half hour one's n shorter bit plenty detail and there is a 3D drawing book for it out with all the painting ment to be researched and used

The rivets are correct. The 1st iteration of this kit, as the S-100, was released NEW in 2008. S-38 is the 2nd iteration.

It will fit in the bath, if you weight it correctly so it floats it could look quite good 👍🏻 obviously washing may be a bit problematic 😬
@@ModelkitStuff I guess I could put it in the hot tub, but it may be hard to convince my wife!😆

Very enjoyable one of those kits that i like to see someone else building . Regards Gav
It sure would be nice if they would release the 1/35 Higgins PT Boat that they planned and even gave a kit number. #5622 announced in 2018.
Looks like a very cool kit Jason!
No! This kit was released in the 2000’s. These boats had large rivets on them.

I don't think the old tooled parts are as old as thought, as the S100 that Italeri produced was a 2008 new tooling.
Now if they just release the S6 to S13 series, i will be happy!
Have you done a review of the s-100 kit same scale same maker? If you have, which kit is better?
No sorry
