Next thing he heard was that it had been canceled. And since everything I've heard about how far into development of Silent Hills got, was super super early development, basically "We got some ideas", while not officially involved, there's no reason to think he wouldn't have if it hadn't been canceled.

Watching pt now and boy, despite it looking good, one sees it kinda gets older even tho I thought this mentality only happens in a childs brain (cause we believed PS1 and such looked hyperrealistc and such)

This was such a great stream and I loved Reggie's immediate WE GOT ROBBED energy. I loved Death Stranding and all but i do really wish we lived in the PT Silent Hill timeline instead.

Kojima and Del Toro did use a lot of the assets from Silent Hills to make Death Stranding though. Its not technically a horror, but it has a lot of horror elements to it.
Perfect timing on playing this this year. The new silent hill project is such a blatent cash grab, I'm sad we never got silent hills, but also glad that it didn't have a chance to disappoint us. Konami would have found a way to fumble it.

Also it astonishes me that I had PT right before they delisted it, installed on my PS4, had to send it in to get repaired and the techs at Sony uninstalled PT and I can't get it anymore.
We can only hope that someday Konami will be run by a dude who REALLY loves Silent Hill and is willing to Kojima the rights to Metal Gear in exchange for making Silent Hills. Unlikely, but on a long enough timeline, anything can happen.
Considering SH: A is a trash fire and Konami gave Bloober Team the go ahead for the SH2 re-make, I doubt this is happening… I personally want really talented people to make a new IP that scares our pants off. Maybe Kohima will make a new IP one day!

Often with like a memmory-loss component (place reminds them of something they can't quite remember, like they have been there but forgot/repressed it.) Then it got picked up from there by like internet creepypasta-y horror and "aestetics" communites to just refer to images that was like "vaugly reminds them of their childhood, but in a creepy way" like pictures of a slightly off mods of the Super Mario 64 castle with a CRT filter or something. Or like a place that they feel like they have been to but haven't. Then someone applied that use of the term to the Backrooms, and now people just use it to mean "like the Backrooms". Also at some point liminal in the sense of being "between reality and unreality" got mixed in there as well. After after that it got post-poc justified with like "sometimes the places called 'liminal spaces' are hallways and such, so those are liminal" despite that a lot (and probably originally most) of the images called "liminal spaces" were not of hallways and such. TL;DR: Online internet horror community is obessed with finding new terms to both overuse and cliché-ify for the new creepy trend and co-opted a term from people trying to use visual art to deal with their childhood trauma.

What we have is the recently released Silent Hill Ascension a choose your own adventure TV show that features a battle pass and the ability to affect the story of some characters no one cares about by paying real money to buy more votes. That’s right it is a pay to win TV show. Truly an innovative experience that we might not have if Konami had not decided to kick out Hideo Kojima for trying to make Silent Hill one of the best games/brands around.

Dad (Konami) was such a drag. Every day he'd eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games (not that cryptic about it all being about unoriginal games). Yeah, he was just that kind of guy. But then one day, he goes and kills us all! (ruining the company and firing people). He couldn't even be original about the way he did it. I'm not complaining... I was dying of boredom anyway, But guess what? I will be coming back, and I'm bringing my new toys with me (Kojima was glad to leave so he could avoid the shipwreck and start his own studio, and he brought the engine and developers with him, to play with new ideas)
