Booze is way worse than weed. People dont get high and go assault someone etc. The drinking age here is only 18 and that feels too young.

Gotta understand that alcohol is something that shouldn't be put inside the human body if you smell liquor it burns your nose. Love you man you don't need this shit ever again in your life when you step away from it long enough just the thought of it may even make you feel sick 💯 you got a higher purpose bro you got this, I know you can come to the realization or already have 💪

Cool man on the month. For me, I'll have 60 days on the 23rd. If Slayer says he's an alcoholic. He's an alcoholic, people. Only the alcoholic can make that decision - or a doctor. Is Slayer's brain a human brain? Good. Because his brain, no matter his age is just as susceptible to being addicted to alcohol because alcohol is an addictive substance. Sorry to hear about this young guy. I'd say I didn't become "alcoholic" until I was 34.

Hi Slayer! You’re not too young. As a nurse I have encountered young patients with liver cirrhosis in their early 30’s. And I have seen them pass. It’s extremely sad . They started to drink at a young age. Young kids have access to alcohol. I have been asked to buy alcohol for minors at convenience stores! Tragic indeed. Poor young man slayer I’m happy you have achieved 30 days sober. Congrats it’s not easy ! You mean a lot to us. Good to see you tonight. Big hugs from TX 💚🤟

Then at the end of the program, there'd be an update saying that so-and-so died a couple of months later, failing to stop. Pretty graphic!!

I became a alcoholic at 20 years old . I drank for a year straight until I got pregnant & stopped then I started drinking again on the weekends for years . Ended up getting pregnant again 4 years later ,After I had my baby I was in a relationship that had me depressed everyday & i had to deal with him so I drank to even be around him . Then from one day to another I started drinking everyday, everyday that passed I said tomorrow I won’t drink after 9 weeks straight I lost count & started getting sharp pains in my stomach I started to get worried , that still didn’t stop me . I prayed to god please help me beat this addiction I can’t do this alone no matter the pain I still drank . I ended up finding out that I was pregnant with my third child , that helped me stop and I had no problem. I know it would be wrong to drink & I wouldn’t dare . If it wasn’t for my baby I probably still would be drinking and be deeper in my addiction thank god I’m sober & i don’t remember how alcohol feels . I Can be around it & im okay .

My first encounter with alcohol poisoning was shortly after I turned 19. I'm sure there are many people who skirt that edge around the same age, maybe even younger, but it can happen to anyone. I'm genuinely lucky af to be alive. I don't even know how I lived through it when stronger, smarter people than myself died much younger. I wish the best to anyone who sees this. Alcoholism and/or drug dependency is Hell. I would actually wish this on my worst enemy, but that's because I'm hella vindictive lol and I know the struggle.

longest sobriety for me was 2 days... congrats all of you guys for going 20-30 days, that is so great - i am just reading on internet now that it takes 4 weeks for the liver to recover fully and probably even more for the brain to reconstitute function which was lost, like i can my speech abilities diminished after half year of drinking..i want to fully stop also, drinking pepsi instead, sugar and caffeine are not good but not as worse, later will drop pepsi too; i was fired for alchool, a first and i hope/plan the last. cheers to all

Hey that’s okay, don’t beat yourself up. I completely understand I was like that for YEARS. I couldn’t go more than 1-2 days without going right back to the liquor again, I drink soda as well it helps with the cravings. Some times a medical detox or rehab is necessary for you to break out of the vicious cycle. Don’t coke turkey if you get horrible withdrawal. Just know you can do it!!! You just need to map out a plan and stick with it, it starts with what do I need to do to stay sober today?? Then tomorrow you ask yourself the same question and do whatever you have to. God bless you, keep me updated 🙏

Humbly crying out to Jesus is the ONLY way to be completely s free from addiction. Addiction is NOT a disease. It is a stronghold from Satan in a persons life. Jesus can and will set the captive free indeed, no matter what the addiction. Jesus heals completely and gives new life to those who call on him in sincerity and complete surrender. You can trust Jesus, who alone is faithful and true, only believe.

I would binge drink to the point I would poison my brain from being able to send a message to my heart to tell it to beat, it's called Super Ventricular Tachycardia. That was 35, it took another 7 years before a mental diagnosis at 42. I would recommend everyone having a problem with drinking to read/listen to as many topics on psychology as you can. For instance, if you have low self-esteem, there's a process called 'internalisation', that occurs in childhood where the parent 'projects' negative attributes or maybe gets excessively angry for no reason. Learning these key words then gives you the ability to identify the process/program that is unfolding as it's happening so it doesn't trigger you to then go have a drink but to realise 'oh that's why I feel like shit, then you understand clearly whats happening with your emotions. I'm now 48 with alot of these issues worked out and my emotions in control, I'll have 4 standard drinks in a night once a week instead of 30 or 40 every other day.

Thank you so much for speaking on young alcoholics, makes me feel like im not alone in the struggle. It's a bigger problem than people often seem to think.
A while back, I had a revelation as to why I drink like I do. I had a dream that it was the day of my wedding and I was nervous to go through with it, but then in the dream my fiancé noticed I was anxious and held me, when she did I could feel a full body euphoria similar to when I get drunk but it came from a natural source. It was profound.
That day when I woke up I realized that the reason I drink is because somewhere down the line I lost the ability to feel loved like I did in the dream, despite having all the love in the world from the people around me and instead of accepting that I am capable and worthy of love, I turn to the bottle as the solution to myself.
    Stay safe, stay sober ✌️

Also common: kidney damage, abnormal heart rhythm, failure to thrive, fluid in the lungs, insufficient urine production, itching, kidney failure, severe unintentional weight loss, or swelling.

Congratulations on your 30 days!! 🎉 So proud of you! It's not easy but it's so worth it.
I can't believe the ignorance behind the comment "to young to be an alcoholic." I started at 15 and was absolutely an alcoholic from the first time I got drunk. I qualified for my seat in the rooms by 25. Unfortunately I needed to demonstrate my own powerless for many more years before I finally made it.
Sounds like these parents have an addiction themselves possibly. It doesn't excuse their behavior at all but they have a disease as well and this cunning and baffling disease will trick it's host to where you don't even know you have it sometimes. Think about how sick they must be to reach for alcohol while it kills their child. You know the powerlessness. It's maddening. I grew up with addicted parents and I never wanted to be like them; but I ended up that way anyways. There is a genetic component to this disease. I used to feel resentment towards my parents but through working the steps I've come to empathize that they too were sick. They did the best they could but they had an untreated illness so their best just wasn't good enough. It's a sad fact. I am forever grateful to have found recovery. I wish that for every alcoholic and addict who still suffers.
Just some advice on your alcohol obsession. Try to stop the fantasies. Especially ruminating on taste, sound (yup, the sound of the bottle cracking or the pour ect), smell, tactile, and the feeling of being inebriated. It's only in your head now but it actually strengthens your obsession and brings you closer to a drink. I was taught early on to catch myself and counter with the reality. I would think about what it was really like. Those horrible moments where you are shaking and drinking straight liquor just to try and stop the withdrawal. Those horrible moments where you are not longer able to move but your brain is perfectly sober. My sponsor always says, play the tape. Also, asking God, the universe, a higher power or whatever to help remove the obsession did work for me. Eventually the obsession becomes occasional intrusive thoughts that can easily be shaken away. Rooting for you every step of the way! ❤

My is is almost 8. I was one who could dabble with alcohol and didn't get trapped in it. My husband was much less fortunate. It got him. And he died. Part of his death was related to addiction. I have impressed upon our son since he was 5 the dangers of alcohol. I regularly sit down with him to watch TH-cam channels that interview addicts and alcoholics so he can see what can happen when "the fun" is done. The point is, I'm teaching him from knee high to a grasshopper. You have to talk to your kids because if you don't, the media will train them up to embrace a lie. And the thing is, fructose is metabolized in the liver like alcohol and excessive consumption can cause non alcoholic fatty liver disease. 30% of kids aged between five and ten are affected. So, if you grow up pigging out of fruit juice, it's just like alcohol to the liver, and then start pouring alchohol on top of it in your teens, it's not hard to do.
Edited to add: Alchohol in my home is limited to wine for the passover, a small amount that on purpose is absolutely disgusting, and whiskey for medicinal purposes: hot toddy for severe viral infection to lessen the risk of complications. My son has grown up with the understanding that alchohol is gonna kill something: you or germs. The small amount we consume for passover is a sacrifice. Not a pleasure.

I keep it at bay now because I know my personality and most times anymore when I smoke it’s so intense that I don’t feel any need to do it again. I’m definitely open to implementing green back into my routine again. If green completely takes over your life and consumes it then I definitely think it’s a negative. Hey jennine I totally understand. The weekends are rough, I made a video about staying sober on the weekends that you should check out!!! You’ve got to put something positive and fun on your weekends that isn’t drinking. I stay extremely busy on the weekends on purpose, it doesn’t give my mind all that time to wonder and think about drinking or think about how people are out having fun. Sobriety can be fun you just have to fun your fun.

I have a saying get sober before your life is over, and it’s for reasons like this, I pray that D is going to be alright, because I believe that it’s not entirely his fault that this happened to him. Alcoholism is scary and it creeps up on you, just like any drug addiction, they’ve done studies and even people that vigorously smoke marijuana have similar withdrawals that alcoholics do, it’s more rare but it still exists. My point is that sobriety is an invisible gift that we’ve been deceived to despise, and we’ve been deceived to despise it because there’s evil people in this world that don’t want other people to be successful and from my experience most people that I have met that have suffered from alcoholism have been very intelligent people. I don’t think that alcohol should be banned, but I wish I knew what I know about alcohol before I turned 21, I’m 29 now and I’m thankful that channels like this exist, because people need to get informed on how bad alcoholism is and how bad it can get.

Thank you. Thank you for being on youtube. I really needed to hear this today. I feel so bad for that poor young man with organ failure. I have liver disease and chronic inflammation and today I was literally in tears of frustration because I want to walk that 10 minutes and grab beer. I've been physically feeling better and my family are trusting me in their lives again. I have many blessing but this is hard. I'm crying. But I needed to reminded of what could happen to my health if i do pick up-and it happens to me real quick. Keep up your hard work. You actually helped me not walk out that door. I'm nervous to tell AA members how I really feel in case it upsets them so i go on youtube to watch videos like these. I'm 47 days sober and go to meetings 4 times a week. They do help too. God bless you! I believe alcohol is demonic too.

Hey Lynne!! Let me say this I’m so proud of you!!! I mean that I’m extremely proud of you. I know how hard it is especially when you’re struggling like that. I’m so sorry you’re going through all of these problems physically and mentally. I always tell myself when I’m struggling back that “all things are possible through Christ Jesus” remember god is on your side no matter what you’re going through and so am I and this whole community!!!
Don’t feel nervous or embarrassed to tell your AA members, if they judge you for being honest then that’s not where you want to be. Do yourself a favor and find a new meeting. You need a place you can be 100% honest, I’m glad you have this community and the very least 🙏🖤.
