Man, I relapsed, too. Summer is so tricky to not drink because of the nice weather and all the activities. But I am now 7 days sober today! Were in this together. Take care of yourself :) Taking milk thistle and promised myself I'd not drink on it. it's a 30 day supply. by 4 weeks sober i hope i don't want to drink anymore. keep the momentum going :)
We’ll find anything or any reason to pick up again. The fall is how we learn. The falls get higher and higher & the bottoms keep getting deeper. I constantly relapsed on pain pills. But now...she's gone. I'll FOREVER remember my *ONLY* friend but now I have to survive without her. ...Green Bay to a mental hospital for 6 days then I decided to go to a sober living house here in Milwaukee 4hrs from my family I have 6 days to go to complete my 30 days and feel so much better. I what's pounding vodka at 5:00 a.m. all day long before work going 40-50 feet in the air doing construction and by the end of the day I would come home and pass out, needless to say it put a huge strain on my marriage. Luckily I have a supportive wife and kids who are happy to have their dad and husband back. The hardest day was father's day but it's only temporary and I'm going home on Saturday. Slayer I got your back and will NEVER unsubscribe in fact I shared your videos and will continue to do so I'm going to show everyone in this sober living rehab house about your channel. Thank you for being honest! Relapse or lapse is part of the struggle. Dirk R/Delirium was not honest on his channel. He was lapsing on and off and hiding it. He therefore did not get support from his followers. Be honest support from the community you are building will help keep you and all of us sober.

Hey shades thanks man! I use to be huge into skateboarding and long-boarding several years back. I don’t get the chance to do it as often as I would like anymore but thrasher was always one of my favorite brands growing up. Did you ever get into the skate scene shades? @@Slayer-7373 I skated vert for years. Street skating in there as well. Up until when I was about 24, I started surfing a lot more. I like carving concrete now. I stayed pretty straight and lived clean until I turned 23 and drank normally usually at the beach or at night going to clubs near the beach. Then around 2004, things started to slip.
OH, AND. I believe in my heart that you can do this too, friend!! You've got this!! Never doubt yourself, just keep picking yourself up and keep moving forward. 🎉🎊🎉 I'm celebrating your sobriety with you today. Keep it up!
So sorry to hear about your dog brother!! I’ve had to gone through that and it sucks!! Don’t beat yourself up over having a lapse. See it as getting off the wrong exit temporarily but then you quickly got back on the highway. I had several relapses and lapses before sobriety finally stuck and I will happen for you also. Maybe call 3 random AA hotlines a day and talk to 3 other alcoholics a day. I do that because you’re gonna find a lot of other people like you who will sympathize. Also, I’m really proud of you for going to the doctors because I have that same anxiety. It took me eight months after getting sober to finally go and get my blood work. It was one less thing I had to worry about because I turned out to be OK except that I still had a high liver enzyme count which they said could take anywhere from nine months to a year to settle down. LD is great! I’ve talked to him a few times on Facebook and if you want shoot me your Facebook handle and I’ll send you an invite and my info and if you want, I’ll chat with you. Hang in there you’re doing really good brother!! I think you’re doing better than you realize :) PS. I place music for a living and did some punk rock stuff for a skateboarding show on VICE called King of the Road several years ago and…wait for it….it was sponsored by Thrasher Magazine. ;)

You are a role model, for sure. And… you’re honest. Majorly respectable quality. It’s not easy to lose a friend (w 2 or 4 legs) I’ve been there to hold a couple of my pets when they crossed over. It was heart-wrenching. But I did it, bc no one should be alone when they die if it can be helped. It’s an honor really. Plus I saw the looks of trust in their eyes while being in a foreign place. I just tried to look as reassuringly at them as I could, and held them close until they were gone. Then the waterfall came. It makes you stronger though, I’ll tell you that. And yes, it will prepare you for when a family member or a close friend passes. I believe relapse makes us stronger too though. Sometimes you have to know what you don’t want in order to know what you do want. And if you’re stubborn, like a lot of us (myself certainly included) you may have a few more rodeos than other folks. It’s no big deal though. Check out any therapist channels associated with addiction (Put the shovel down is great) they will tell you that it’s a normal part of the process. Doesn’t mean any of us should get slack about trying to reach your goal, but also don’t beat yourself up either. Just keep praying earnestly, you’ll get the help you need. May your furry friend rest in peace ❤

Bro my dog Daisy had a heart atrack/embolism in April. She was 10 and I had to put her down. She was my best friend and I miss her so much! I went on a downward spiral with booze since then. I have small 2 to 3 days of sobriety but her death left a hole in my heart. We knew each other so much. I totally feel for you man, my heart breaks for you ♥ 🐶

You are too young to have serious health issues. I quit for 10 years then went back to it for 10 years. Now sober 18 years. Hang in there, you’re on the right track.

My god, Slayer.... I'm so, so sorry!!! I love sharing my life with animals, but it's the medical decisions and our responsibility over their quality of life that are the only negatives to the deal. Animals are family, too...the grief is exactly the same for me as when another family member passes. Slayer, none of us expect perfection from each other. What you did with this channel is you created a space for yourself and a large group of friends to support one another. We will never judge you for being human. We will pray for you and extend a hand if you want it. If you stop creating videos, I hope it's because you want to practice self care or are simply too busy. Oh slayer I felt that, I know how hard that decision is but you absolutely made the right choice. That happened to two of my dogs all of sudden. Fly high Bert. He’s playing and running…care free. I have always held my dogs when I say goodbye it’s heartbreaking but I will always do that. They’re absolutely our family and they feel our love. I always say momma will always love you and I’ll see you again. It’s ok to let go. Look Slay you don’t ever need to feel ashamed for being human. You’re not a hypocrite at all. We sympathize for you all the way around and the very last thing to do is to walk away from us if you relapse, keep telling yourself that your not going to relapse. It is so horrible to lose your pet’s, they truly do become your family. We have 2 cats 🐈⬛ one is 14, years old and the other one is 11 years old. I have had cats 🐈⬛ & dogs all of my life. My husband is not a cat person (or wasn’t) he is now. Slayer please don’t be so hard on yourself. You have done so well. I thought so many people have relapsed a bunch before they finally get it… Even LD has said that. At least you know your triggers.. and I am sure that you will remember them. The fourth of July sends me into major depression and anxiety and this year was not any different. I don't go to the parties and I feel like I'm missing out on all the fun, not being with friends I used to party with causes so much anxiety bro! All the holidays are a struggle! This video made me cry. I lost my little Coco dog a few months ago - she started breathing hard, struggling to breathe, and I thought she had a lung infection. I took her to the vet and within ten minutes I was saying goodbye to her on the exam table. Her heart was giving out. It was completely unexpected and it shattered me. I cried for days and I'm crying now. I miss her so much. Slayer I know how much it hurts. ((hug)) And YES when it's so sudden it's such a shock to the system. I drank that night, too. I didn't the next day but I drank that night.

Wish there was a way to reach through this phone and hug you! I totally get it! I had to put my boxer/pit girl down on April 18th. We knew she had a huge growth on her belly but did not appear to be in pain. It finally happened though. The whole family went along to say goodbye. Slayer...relapse happens! Definitely keep the videos coming. The more you talk and communicate, the better. Yes, there are many negative jerks on the web. You are right, always gonna be there. I see so much potential in you. Pets are family. You made the right decision on Bert's behalf. It's NOT easy, especially with all that chaos around you. Bad habits are hard to break, because they're fun, or at least seem like they're fun. Good habits, like cleaning your room, taking out the trash or doing laundry are easy to break. What does that tell you? The good thing from all this insanity is that you're cognizant of your faults, and more importantly, you're humble. Be humble, because we're all flawed. You're on the edge of a breakthrough. I'll be sticking around to watch your progress.

No. I honestly don't think some realise the enormity of losing a loved pet. I lost my favourite girl (Daisy) & and I've never known pain like it. She was my best friend. I can 100% understand how it sent you under & to the point it did ✨️🙏🏻✨️

I'm sorry about your dog man. It's hard. We recently had to put our dog down too. He was 15 years old. It sucks... It's also very hard to not drink when there is an event like the 4th of July or any other holiday where people drink. The best thing to do is to just not go to those things. But don't give up you can always start again. If you relapse just remember you can get back up and start again. You won't run out of chances to start the road to sobriety. I know you can do it. Sometimes if I ever think about drinking I gotta tell myself "Don't throw it away.. you're 6 months sober don't throw it away." You got this man.

Hello man! All I wanna say is, please don't give up on your channel. I can guarantee you are helping people all around the world. And if you can help at least ONE person, believe me it is worth it. I understand you, don't be too hard on yourself and keep going. If you move two steps forward and one back, it is still progress. It is what matters. If it takes longer, don't be afraid. It is the human nature: we all are vulnerable and weak, at times. I BELIEVE you can do it. Not sure if you are a Christian yourself but don't forget what Saint Paul said: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I know it is a tough battle, who knows maybe it is your life goal, to be sober. If you put it that way, focus on being sober and all the rest will fall into place. I say it myself because I feel I'm on the same boat. You encourage me as well and it is good to know you're not alone, and I'm not alone. God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. You are around my age and I struggle like hell with this, I do enjoy your videos. I went on a mini bender this weekend and don't even have my dog dying to use as an excuse. I'm also kindled as fuck so despite drinking hardly nothing today I'm gonna feel like absolute shit at work tomorrow.

Focus on the things above in heaven. Don’t focus on the things of the World. That will take you where your heart desires. And the Lord knows what your heart desires which is sobriety. And peace and self-control. Stay away from TH-cam if it jeopardizes your sobriety but do it if it helps your sobriety. I love you brother.

Not to make an excuse for relapse, but I think you kind of hit a bit of a perfect psychological storm there. The dog 🐶 and then the 4th at the same time. Try and put it behind you, sounded quite minor and you did not end up in hospital. Hope ok with the pancreatitis.

I don’t have a sponsor unfortunately, I went to the doctor yesterday and even my doctor was telling me “slayer get a sponsor already what are you doing?” I think it’s high time. I’d also like to work fully through the steps, I always have but never have followed through.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. The word "pet" doesn't apply to our little animal family members...they're as equal as any member of the family. Relapse/lapse isn't good but the fact you didn't go on a bender HAS to be some sort of improvement. Like you said, you think NOW is the time you get fully sober for life...it's sort of a minor miracle that you DIDN'T go on a huge bender and use the death of your dog as an excuse because many people would feel justified. You're learning, you'll be stronger from this.

I recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad. Its basically what we should have learned in school about how to handle money. Doesn’t have to be self-help, just read stuff that you want to learn.
I do enjoy reading man, kind of crazy actually that you bring up that particular book. My friend actually got me that book years ago and at the time I was too young to look into it, but now that you brought it up it sparked my memory. I’ll have to pull it out and dust it off and get to reading it! Appreciate this comment and understanding man.
Man, I relapsed, too. Summer is so tricky to not drink because of the nice weather and all the activities. But I am now 7 days sober today! Were in this together. Take care of yourself :) Taking milk thistle and promised myself I'd not drink on it. it's a 30 day supply. by 4 weeks sober i hope i don't want to drink anymore. keep the momentum going :)

First off I want to send my condolences to you for the loss of your dog I believe our God is the god of reconciliation and He promises He will make all things new and reconcile EVERYTHING even our pets from the past present and future, 2nd don't beat yourself up to bad it's a good thing you feel remorseful if you didn't you would be doing the things you shouldn't be doing, that's what I love about you so much is you are very honest and you process these issues not just in a group setting but on TH-cam bro that takes guts man, we're all human and we make mistakes. To be honest with you I relapsed about the same time you did a few months ago the difference was is you stopped after a few days I didn't, I ended up in the ER then they sent my butt to Green Bay to a men
...Green Bay to a mental hospital for 6 days then I decided to go to a sober living house here in Milwaukee 4hrs from my family I have 6 days to go to complete my 30 days and feel so much better. I what's pounding vodka at 5:00 a.m. all day long before work going 40-50 feet in the air doing construction and by the end of the day I would come home and pass out, needless to say it put a huge strain on my marriage. Luckily I have a supportive wife and kids who are happy to have their dad and husband back. The hardest day was father's day but it's only temporary and I'm going home on Saturday. Slayer I got your back and will NEVER unsubscribe in fact I shared your videos and will continue to do so I'm going to show everyone in this sober living rehab house about your channel. @@Slayer-7373 I skated vert for years. Street skating in there as well. Up until when I was about 24, I started surfing a lot more. I like carving concrete now. I stayed pretty straight and lived clean until I turned 23 and drank normally usually at the beach or at night going to clubs near the beach. Then around 2004, things started to slip.
OH, AND. I believe in my heart that you can do this too, friend!! You've got this!! Never doubt yourself, just keep picking yourself up and keep moving forward. 🎉🎊🎉 I'm celebrating your sobriety with you today. Keep it up!

Don’t beat yourself up over having a lapse. See it as getting off the wrong exit temporarily but then you quickly got back on the highway. I had several relapses and lapses before sobriety finally stuck and I will happen for you also.
Maybe call 3 random AA hotlines a day and talk to 3 other alcoholics a day. I do that because you’re gonna find a lot of other people like you who will sympathize.
Also, I’m really proud of you for going to the doctors because I have that same anxiety. It took me eight months after getting sober to finally go and get my blood work. It was one less thing I had to worry about because I turned out to be OK except that I still had a high liver enzyme count which they said could take anywhere from nine months to a year to settle down.
LD is great! I’ve talked to him a few times on Facebook and if you want shoot me your Facebook handle and I’ll send you an invite and my info and if you want, I’ll chat with you.

You are a role model, for sure. And… you’re honest. Majorly respectable quality. It’s not easy to lose a friend (w 2 or 4 legs) I’ve been there to hold a couple of my pets when they crossed over. It was heart-wrenching. But I did it, bc no one should be alone when they die if it can be helped. It’s an honor really. Plus I saw the looks of trust in their eyes while being in a foreign place. I just tried to look as reassuringly at them as I could, and held them close until they were gone. Then the waterfall came. It makes you stronger though, I’ll tell you that. And yes, it will prepare you for when a family member or a close friend passes. I believe relapse makes us stronger too though. Sometimes you have to know what you don’t want in order to know what you do want. And if you’re stubborn, like a lot of us (myself certainly
included) you may have a few more rodeos than other folks. It’s no big deal though. Check out any therapist channels associated with addiction (Put the shovel down is great) they will tell you that it’s a normal part of the process. Doesn’t mean any of us should get slack about trying to reach your goal, but also don’t beat yourself up either. Just keep praying earnestly, you’ll get the help you need. Bro my dog Daisy had a heart atrack/embolism in April. She was 10 and I had to put her down. She was my best friend and I miss her so much! I went on a downward spiral with booze since then. I have small 2 to 3 days of sobriety but her death left a hole in my heart. We knew each other so much. I totally feel for you man, my heart breaks for you ♥ 🐶

Oh slayer I felt that, I know how hard that decision is but you absolutely made the right choice. That happened to two of my dogs all of sudden. Fly high Bert. He’s playing and running…care free. I have always held my dogs when I say goodbye it’s heartbreaking but I will always do that. They’re absolutely our family and they feel our love. I always say momma will always love you and I’ll see you again. It’s ok to let go.

This video made me cry. I lost my little Coco dog a few months ago - she started breathing hard, struggling to breathe, and I thought she had a lung infection. I took her to the vet and within ten minutes I was saying goodbye to her on the exam table. Her heart was giving out. It was completely unexpected and it shattered me. I cried for days and I'm crying now. I miss her so much. Slayer I know how much it hurts. ((hug))
And YES when it's so sudden it's such a shock to the system. I drank that night, too. I didn't the next day but I drank that night.

Wish there was a way to reach through this phone and hug you! I totally get it! I had to put my boxer/pit girl down on April 18th. We knew she had a huge growth on her belly but did not appear to be in pain. It finally happened though. The whole family went along to say goodbye.

Pets are family. You made the right decision on Bert's behalf. It's NOT easy, especially with all that chaos around you. Bad habits are hard to break, because they're fun, or at least seem like they're fun. Good habits, like cleaning your room, taking out the trash or doing laundry are easy to break. What does that tell you? The good thing from all this insanity is that you're cognizant of your faults, and more importantly, you're humble. Be humble, because we're all flawed. You're on the edge of a breakthrough. I'll be sticking around to watch your progress.

I'm sorry about your dog man. It's hard. We recently had to put our dog down too. He was 15 years old. It sucks... It's also very hard to not drink when there is an event like the 4th of July or any other holiday where people drink. The best thing to do is to just not go to those things. But don't give up you can always start again. If you relapse just remember you can get back up and start again. You won't run out of chances to start the road to sobriety. I know you can do it. Sometimes if I ever think about drinking I gotta tell myself "Don't throw it away.. you're 6 months sober don't throw it away." You got this man.

You are absolutely right as well, it really is best at least in early sobriety maybe forever not to go to those types of events. Bunch of drunk people screaming and hollering, drinks being offered to you it’s just a bad scene for people like us who battle the bottle.

Hello man! All I wanna say is, please don't give up on your channel. I can guarantee you are helping people all around the world. And if you can help at least ONE person, believe me it is worth it. I understand you, don't be too hard on yourself and keep going. If you move two steps forward and one back, it is still progress. It is what matters. If it takes longer, don't be afraid. It is the human nature: we all are vulnerable and weak, at times. I BELIEVE you can do it. Not sure if you are a Christian yourself but don't forget what Saint Paul said: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I know it is a tough battle, who knows maybe it is your life goal, to be sober. If you put it that way, focus on being sober and all the rest will fall into place. I say it myself because I feel I'm on the same boat. You encourage me as well and it is good to know you're not alone, and I'm not alone. God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. Remember that.

And peace and self-control. Stay away from TH-cam if it jeopardizes your sobriety but do it if it helps your sobriety. I love you brother.

Not to make an excuse for relapse, but I think you kind of hit a bit of a perfect psychological storm there. The dog 🐶 and then the 4th at the same time. Try and put it behind you, sounded quite minor and you did not end up in hospital. Hope ok with the pancreatitis.

I don’t have a sponsor unfortunately, I went to the doctor yesterday and even my doctor was telling me “slayer get a sponsor already what are you doing?” I think it’s high time. I’d also like to work fully through the steps, I always have but never have followed through.
@@Slayer-7373 I just got 3 years sober a few days ago and just spoke at 5 meeting this week celebrating with my friends. I can sponsor or even temporarily sponsor you. I can give my info over email if you would like brother. Get into the steps or you will relapse: do the work so you can heal.
Even if you relapse, it doesn't discount any advice that you give or discount any progress that you've made

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. The word "pet" doesn't apply to our little animal family members...they're as equal as any member of the family. Relapse/lapse isn't good but the fact you didn't go on a bender HAS to be some sort of improvement. Like you said, you think NOW is the time you get fully sober for life...it's sort of a minor miracle that you DIDN'T go on a huge bender and use the death of your dog as an excuse because many people would feel justified. You're learning, you'll be stronger from this.

I recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad. Its basically what we should have learned in school about how to handle money. Doesn’t have to be self-help, just read stuff that you want to learn.
I do enjoy reading man, kind of crazy actually that you bring up that particular book. My friend actually got me that book years ago and at the time I was too young to look into it, but now that you brought it up it sparked my memory.
